Don’t book here if the strike is still going on.
If you’re looking for a vacation where you do all the work, Hilton Hawaiian Village is the place for you! From September 29 to October 4, I had the pleasure of staying here, and wow, what an experience. A hotel strike greeted me on arrival, with non-stop chanting, bullhorns, and drumming. Just what I needed for a relaxing vacation—sarcasm intended. But wait, it gets better! My room was dirty with food still in the fridge. Housekeeping? Nowhere to be found. I had the joy of getting my own towels and emptying my own trash, because why not do hotel staff’s job for them while on vacation, right? The public trash cans were overflowing too, adding to the lovely ambiance. Speaking of fun, I spent a good portion of my stay waiting in endless lines at the front desk. Because, clearly, I wanted to spend my limited vacation time standing around. To top it off, the pool by the Tapa Tower was closed, as were multiple restaurants. It was like Hilton was daring me to have a good time. If you’re hoping for relaxation, avoid this place at all costs. My advice: find a hotel that actually values its guests. Hilton clearly does not.

Disastrous, unpleasant stay: dirty rooms, no housekeeping, Hilton hotel management fell short
I really want to provide positive reviews because I've had good experience previously. However, currently I am extremely disappointed at this hotel management. I understand the workers should go on a strike when management is not responsive, and the workers strike for me isn't an issue. The real problem is that hotel management is doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to remedy this huge inconvenience, including NO HOUSEKEEPING (none during the stay), no alternative plans for other cancelled events or things, no good faith efforts to really make this situation better for the guests. The quality of services is abysmal. There are piles of supplies they just leave on each floor for guests to grab, and we have to leave towels and sheets for cleaning outside the door, also the trash cans. They placed a sheet on the elevator door what they can't do, for example "limited" housekeeping. It's not limited, rather, NO housekeeping - room never cleaned or serviced. The hotel buildings are generally a bit old and worn out to begin with. So zero housekeeping results in a generally unsanitary environment. There is no vacuuming for the guest rooms, so you can imagine the sand all over the places as the resort is right by the beach. And yet they charged the full price. They are not offering any kind of discount or credits for this massive inconvenience and unpleasant stay. Since the charge was the same, I expected they would do something to rectify this, but when I asked the front desk after 4 days of stay with zero housekeeping, the answer was no. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a clean and comfortable stay.

This place is horrible
I am so disappointed in Hilton! I have stayed in Hilton hotels all over the country and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. We stayed 8 nights there for a conference and the stay was less than stellar. When we got to the hotel they tried to upcharge us to a different room because we were "not guaranteed room type" and charged us extra for wifi. If we were not guaranteed the room type, why were we given options with various pricing when registering for the conference? And the wifi I later found out came free with the conference. Then to top it off the strike started! We had airhorns and yelling at us outside our room, outside the parking garage, and on the beach from 5:30 am until about 9 at night. We had no room service or clean towels, and half the restaurants were shut down. One day we were trying to get out of the parking deck and I had one of the strikers jump out in front of my car when I did not immediately stop she hit the hood of my car and then threatened to call the police on me. My 6 year old was crying in the back of the car scared to death!!! Hilton completely lost control of the situation and there was no recourse for the guests. If I had not been attending a conference at the hotel I would have left days earlier. Conference amenities were also greatly lacking and I hope the society got their money back because the services they received were severely lacking. The only compensation they bothered to give us was 4 days of "free" parking and took the wifi charge off that we should have gotten anyway. This place is a complete disappointment and Hilton should be ashamed of how they let the union strikers abuse the guests. I am angry at both sides and feel cheated out of the thousands of dollars spent to attend the conference.

Not up to Hilton standards, very disappointed.
The strike has left the service lacking, very bad. Hilton needs to settle the strike so the service we paid for is delivered. We did not receive room cleaning during the 2 weeks we were there. We had to go get clean towels when we needed them, garbage was left in the hallway for more than 24 hours.
