Very thorough housekeeping…
I’ve had better service at towneplace suites. We were initially checked into a room that had not been serviced. Unmade bed, used towels around the room, trash and debris around the room. We were offered a room with a different view, an “upgrade” that I had turned down during check in. We trekked across the hotel to view the new room. Our bags were still in the original room, but the bell desk could not move them without us present, so we had to trek back to the original un-serviced room, and then back again to the new room. Once settled we started our vacation a few hours late, frustrated and delayed to our dinner plans. The hotel offered to remove the resort fees for the stay as compensation for the mix up, however they were still present on the bill and I had to call the property to get them removed. During the first house keeping, the house keeping staff managed to find my tip money buried deep in my back pack. My fault for leaving it around, I know. Not what I would expect from a resort Marriott property, but maybe I should change my expectations. This hotel was a source of frustration and distraction from what should have been a peaceful and restorative vacation.

Imagine eating your favorite food but it is bland. That’s what this place is like
My wife and I came here for our honeymoon for 4 nights. This has to be the most average “resort.” The rooms are ok, but the towels are as rough as sand paper. Literally irritating… The showers are not water-tight. Water will seep out and create puddles on the ground, soaking the towel meant for drying your feet. You will be given a “welcome” gift, which is a promotional message to buy more. No thanks. Breakfast is $50… umm what? I just went to the Starbucks at the hotel for that matter. The valet service is very good though. The drivers are so polite and quick. 5 starts for the valet… 3 for everything else

Very good hotel
Very good hotel stay. They were very accomodating and allowed us to checkin at 0900 after our flight in even though the check in time was 1500. We booked a city view but were upgraded to sea view room. Balcony was very relaxing. Only complaint i had was the safe located at ground level in the room so very difficult to use.

Don’t waste your money on this hotel
Be prepared to not sleep the entire time you’re here! This was a Nightmare not a vacation!! First let me say that the location is great and the staff is very friendly. The check in process was good and fairly painless. A lot of hotels like to use the work “resort” so that they can charge a resort fee. Here it was $50.00 per night plus tax. Self parking an additional $55.00 a night plus tax on top of paying $400.00 a night plus taxes. This hotel was not a “resort” but rather a cheap hotel with a pretty good view. No robes or slippers in the room. I don’t think you could even get room service. There was no menu in the room. This cheap towels that were so rough they actually scratch your skin to the point that my back bled a little after toweling off. The room was just “ok” it was clean and rundown. This hotel is packed with people. Elevators take a long long long time and there are a lot of people waiting at all hours. The first night we both tossed and turned due to the rock hard uncomfortable bed. We slept very little all night and just wanted to sleep in a little . But at 9:12AM the phone rings. And wakes us up.!! It was the Marriot Vacations Desk calling to tell us to come down so they could tell us about excursions and offers!!!! Please I don’t need to be woken up to hear a timeshare presentation . Put a note under a door if you need to try to sell me something. Don’t call vacationers at 9:12Am! RUDE! And I couldn’t get back to sleep, The second night people kept using the fire escape next to our room to go down to get ice because they have ice machines on the floor below us. The elevators are so slow that people have figured out as did we to use the fire stairs. Slam Slam Slam Slam all night. We were exhausted from all the times during the night that people used the fire escape. We asked the housekeepers for a mattress topper or additional blanket to sleep on top of . She said yes a lot of people can’t sleep well on these old beds!. She got us a blanket which helped quite a bit. The third day we used the pool which was packed with tons of people no chairs without dirty towels and so we went and swam in the kids pool. The third night lots of college kids partying in the hallways and we called the fest a few times to ask if they can send security but it went on most of the night till 330 in the morning. The final morning we were there we finally slept out of pure exhaustion and were happy to be going home that evening. But AT 700 AM till about 730am. we were awoken to megaphones drums and screaming. There were about 30 people in front of the hotel from a hotel labor action that has been going on for a while. We turned the tv on to try to drown out the noise but that didn’t cover up the bullhorns and noise. I do feel very sorry for the staff as they do work hard …but for gods sake Marriot as much as you are charging for this very average hotel pay your staff!! We couldn’t wait to leave this Marriot we went on the Tv to check out ..and there was a $100.00 extra charge that they had to take off!! I have to wonder if we didn’t check we would have been charged for that. My recommendation is stay far far away from this horrible hotel. I usually love Marriot but this was an epic fail and I will not be back

Always a great stay!
Stayed here a few times on business and the enjoy the rooms in the tower adjoining the lobby (vs the one closest to the beach). I find the rooms comfortable and standard - the showers are always decent and roomy and the beds are comfortable. The service is always pleasant and helpful. The food at the sushi restaurant downstairs is amazing! Easy to get in and out of the property being closer to the zoo side.
