the trip was great because of the wonderful driver that drove me around , but the one thing that would keep me from coming back to the secrets would be the cats running around the resort . the staff was great , but not a great variety of Jamaican food there at the resort.
This resort was absolutely fantastic, the food was amazing, the location was amazing the whole experience was wonderful. I highly recommend the secrets montego bay resort. Every bit of food we ate was wonderfully prepared and tasted just as good.
Been to better , been to worse! Some ocean front rooms are more like ocean part view, preferred guests get the run of the place ( non preferred are segregated to LOUD areas! Resort is not close to anything to walk to and a 9 km taxi ride could cost you $100 US
We just got back last night and I can’t tell you how amazing the grounds and property.. the services was also wonderful. All the staff were very friendly. We got a ocean front on the st James side. My opinion better then the wild O. So many option of seating on both sides.. the other reviews are right about the preferred no need to get it really. It was a typically depression so the water was not that clear the first two days but by the third omg it’s was pure amazement. Don’t except top self drinks on the beach two bars on the wild o have too and the lobby bar I believe. Room service food was just ok not many options the breakfast and lunch buffet was great, we had Mexican and Italian both great. Very impressed with the whole experience. The property is up kept very very well our room was also great and large only prob is the shower did have a small smell but it went away after we showered. Also a heads up if u staying on the wild o side at night the hold entertainment on that side and many rooms on the side we’re close too all that noise that could keep u up, and the restaurant and late night bar are also on that side. We visited breathless it was not like st James breathless was more party go go which was cool to just be able to visit. It was a bday and I didn’t receive my bday gifts until the third day... but between all the other positive services i wasn’t bothered. We did tip for everything even drinks. Lunch’s dinners, etc I even at the front desk for checking on us so much! idk it just seems right, but they will provide great service without a tip I’m sure of it! But tip haha Also beach food was great jerk chicken, burgers and chips. So with all that I would 100% book a trip at this resort.. this place has all you will want plus more!
Average Food, Poor Service but Good Entertainment
For being a Four Diamond Resort - Room was dirty and not vaccumed, the sinks did not drain, the bathtub had leaks and it took housekeeping and front desk 12+ hrs to get clean towels across. Hotel Management did very little to fix the issues. The Buffet restaurant was significantly better than ALL the Ala Carte Restaurants on the property - aka the food is average at best in the so called Fine Dining Restaurants. The live entertainment on the property was Great every evening, but that didn't make up for the overall average experience at this pricey resort!! Save your money and stay somewhere else in Jamaica. B- Grade at best for this place
