Overall good experience with issues
We were at the NS from 5 to 15 January as a couple. Staff. Excellent, from front desk, waiters to maid service. One thing that could be improved is turned down service done after 7pm. They would generally do this in the afternoon! Dining Cibu and French were outstanding. Asian and Grill were good. We did not try the Mexican. You generally have to be patient and wait if you want access to the a la carte restaurants. Buffet was extremely small and lacking in variety. You had to ask waiters for butter, salt and pepper and food items like bacon which was rarely available at the buffet. They would go and get food for you directly from the kitchen if you asked. Bars Very poor alcohol selection for non preferred guests. I have seen better in Cuba and other much less expensive resorts. We drink very little alcohol so it did not affect us too much. House wine with lunch and dinner was OK. There is a so called mediocre "sports bar" which consist of a few TVs and a couple of pool tables. No bar service during the day. It becomes a disco after 1030pm. Café Excellent service and coffee. We admired the patience of the ladies working there. We never saw anyone leave them a tip. Rooms Large and modern. No robes, slippers or hair dryer. You have to call to get those, which we found strange. Beach and Pools. Lovely beach but not good for swimming. The guys cleaning the beach deserve a special mention for their hard work everyday. Main pool was large but freezing and often filled with drunken guests. Note that this a family resort with many children of all ages. It is very quiet after 11pm except for a few highly inebriated patrons. We enjoyed our stay in spite of the issues noted but will likely not return.
Second Day of trouble at the Now Saphire Riviera Cancun
We’re now in our third room in the last 36 hours. The Now Saphire Riviera Cancun is an ok resort if you don’t mind air conditioning that only works now and then, moldy rooms, random trash outside your room, hair balls on the steps leading to your room, spilled coffee stains on the landings, pieces of the chocolate bar left by the last guest, dusty lamps and fountains that don’t work.
It was an anniversary trip, there was alot of confusion with my resv, we spent time weeks before direct messaging, the day we checked in, plus another day of our stay, to receive no upgrade, no resolution First trip ever with NO HOT TUB.this resort only has jacuzzis in the new ocean front rooms, no where else!! The Preferred club we paid for, gives NOTHING, but access to a room with drinks, and some snacks, that sat out all day.I was told in writing we would have access to CIBU for breakfast, turned away daily, timeshare office in there resort is pretty, clean. Very small, buffet is 1/8 size of other resorts of the 5 restaurants,2 closed each night. you have to wait at hibachi at 3pm to get a resv. turned away 4x, 1 bag of M&M in our room, no snacks. It says preferred mini bar.We had 4 coronas and an airplane bottle of bacardi, and tequila in our fridge twice. Went to the adult pool the morning of our last day, and was told we had to reserve chairs there the day before to go there.CIBU for dinner delicious, hibachi, if you get in. I can only say good about the pool staff and bartenders. They work very hard, you are never without a drink, they remember your names from day one!! WE will never go back to any NOW resort, they did nothing to fix the room situation, No anniversary champagne. Very poor cust svc, not being run well. gift shop was closed until day we left, 5 vendor tables one night. Pools close early, it is very boring at night, Juan, and Vicente at the pool the best!!
Did not want to leave!
We recently stayed at Now Sapphire for a week and cannot say enough good things about it. From the spotless room to the very clean property to the wonderful staff to the delicious food, it was perfect. I won't repeat all of the great things already said except that I went with my sister and niece who have been on a few cruises and also all-inclusives and they said the food at Now was the best they've ever experienced. The staff was so welcoming and really made it clear that they wanted us to enjoy ourselves. If I had one negative thing to say it would be that the restrooms near the pool could be a little cleaner and brighter. It seemed that the ladies room wasn't maintained as well as the other areas (soap dispensers and paper towels empty at times) but other than that, we really had a wonderful week.
Beautiful open style resort
This resort is quite beautiful. The majority of the resort is mostly palapa style structures with open air where you can feel the breeze. The crowd of guests tend to be on the more calm side as opposed to drunk party animals. The swimming pool is very big and larger than most resorts. There is an abundance of cabana, palapas, and patio furniture on the property that is in great condition. In the evening it will be important to make a reservation at where you want to eat as the wait can get pretty long. The only down side of the resort is that the beach/Oceanside is quite small. There is a seaweed problem but that is every property alongside the Maya Riviera right now. Bands in the evening along with weekly vendors coming on the property to sell a bit of Mexican art culture is nice to see!
