Very nicely refurbished but not much to do
The facility is really quite attractive and the staff is very friendly. Only problem is that it's ouside town with not much to do in the evening. If they had a shuttle going in and out of town it would be excellent facility.
The C Spice Restaurant a must go!
We wanted something new thus decided to have dinner at C-Spice the Main Restaurant at the New re-opened Marriott Hotel. We were a group of 9 people and of course made a reservation. The restaurant offer inside and outside dinning. we opt for inside and were nicely greeted by our main server Linkiesha. who served us with a positive vibe and smile all night. Liked the fact that she was well trained on the wine selection they had in the restaurant. (Which is very rare on the island). Jay Jay the restaurant Supervisor and Bryan our chef for that night made sure our dinner experience was one to remember. And they sure did an excellent Job! I ordered the tenderloin and asked to replace the mash potatoes with salad. Without any hesitation, the chef surely delivered and it was delicious. So is the pizza and the shrimps dish. Highly recommend having dinner at C Spice!
Some hiccups and improvements needed but overall nice
Newly renovated and opened. Great pool area and smallish beach area. Not the best beach in Curacao but not the worst either. Rooms are updated but somewhat sparse. Bed was very nice and comfortable. The TV was notably big, maybe 70+ inches, attached to a chromecast that I never figured out how to connect to. Location is in Piscadera beach, which is about 7-10 minutes from Otraband and the Renaissance, 15 minutes from old Willemstad due to the bridge, and 20-30 minutes from the nice beaches further up the coast. Definitely get a car as taxis are ridiculously expensive in Curacao (and the rest of the Caribbeans). Free parking in the lot. Only tried the lunch buffet at the restaurant once, which was limited but had nice servings of picanha. Salty Iguana is the beach bar and grill, which has standard Western beach shack food. There's a couple of excellent local seafood options near the hotel. One is right up the street in Piscadera called De Visserij, that is famous for their tuna served either sashimi or seared, as well as other fish and shrimp in a fish market style setting on the water. The other is Kas de Piskado in Purunchi about 5 minutes drive behind the water desalination plant. There's a few restaurants (shacks) on the water but Kas de Piskado is the most famous one that both locals and tourists go to. Definitely try the lionfish, or they have a few other selections as well. All are pan fried. Both of these places have standard Western prices for seafood, but remains rather inexpensive for Curacao prices. The minor issues were the service was rather impersonal and perfunctory, and the mosquito situation in the check in area is horrendous. Also asked for cutlery which never came, and housekeeping that has somewhat random hours so you may miss it resulting in calling for housekeeping that will never come. However when they did make up the room it was done with excellence.
Staff is so friendly and amazing, grounds are well kept and beautiful. Food is awesome. Everything is newly renovated and it is a 10 minute ride to downtown. If you are going to Curacao, book this resort. You will not be disappointed.
Ok. I have only been here a few hours but I can safely say that the combination of staff, location and amenities at this resort is the absolute best. And I have been around. We started w Andrew checking us in. Who didn’t allow me to leave the front desk until all my issues were addressed. Julio and Dino swooped in to help us w our needs. Nick and Frank Cesco at the bar were exceptional, with Nick making a special nonalcoholic sugar free drink for my daughter. Jay Jay, Ramses (and once again Julio and Dino) were exceptional and attentive. I will provide updates. But come.
