From the minute we arrived everything and everyone were very professional and went above and beyond trying to make our trip perfect. Scooby from the Eteam did his best to keep us entertained on the beach. Yrani our host from the Xhale club went above and beyond to handle all our needs.Yes and Angela again took care of our booking and we will make sure and recommend Breathless Punta Cana to everyone for any type of trip both young and old can enjoy this resort. Food is excellent and if you can't find something to eat you have something wrong with you. Drinks are plentiful, beach was clean and perfect. Pleanty of chairs on both beach and pool areas.
Beautiful location, old property
Just returned from Breathless Punta Cana. This is our 4th year, going to different destinations, and staying at different properties each year. To be fair on this review, we have stayed at Excellence Riviera Maya, Iberostar In Jamaica, and Secrets Cap Cana. This property is in no way comparable, not even close. The positives: Ricardo on the beach and at the pool, was one of the best hosts/servers we have ever had. Betty Boop, an entertaining staff member was very fun. Luis at the temporary lobby bar was friendly and amazingly courteous, otherwise, this visit goes down in the “do not recommend.” The property is old. Another coat of paint, glued on tile, and bleach will not change the fact that it needs serious attention. Our shower drain was off our entire visit, after asking for it to be fixed 4 separate times. The plugs in the room were very few, and the one in the bathroom would not hold the hotels hair dryer cord in the wall, so you had to hold it with one hand, and use the dryer in the other...yes, we asked 4 times for it to be looked at for us. Our door reader stopped working, and to get it to allow us in to our locked room took half a day, and multiple requests for help. The reception on arrival was minimal, with no information except a map, pen marks as to where restaurants were located, and a good bye. Bartenders were flat affect for the most part at all areas we visited. Pool chairs, outdoor room chairs, pool floats, pool towels were all old, had holes in them, and were in great need of replacement. The concierge did offer to move our room when we made it clear we were not happy with the room (no better than an old Quality Inn type room), and took us to see another room. It was not near enough of an upgrade to pack our belongings and move, but the gesture was appreciated. The other issue, and maybe this is just having to get used to it, is the vendors that want to sell you items, or take a picture with a bird, lizard or monkey, do not allow one to enjoy the beach, relax, and unwind. Bit maybe that’s just me. We did not spend less on this resort by any means, as compared to the last we’ve stayed over the years. It was a disappointing property.
Breathless Punta Cana
I visited Breathless Punta Caña last year and it was so much fun, we came again for my cousins birthday. The hotel has lots to do and top notch service. Both visits I’ve had David Castillo as my butler, who made my stay effortless each time outlining activities, making our reservations and even attending to special birthday surprises we didn’t even expect! Truly making this trip one with memories that will last a lifetime. I highly recommend this hotel and the wonderful staff.
Great resort! Beautiful beach, staff were so hard working. ( we tipped well as they busted their tails in the hot sun) The Dominican people were friendly and always smiling asking us what they could do for us. Food was Very good everywhere we ate . Loved our waiter Armando at the culinarily restaurant, the food and service was so good we ate there two nights in a row!! Perfect table service attentive but not annoying, can’t say enough how impressed we were! So many choices at the breakfast buffet if you didn’t find something to eat you must be super picky. ( they did have cooked vegetables which as Americans we are not used to but we met all nationals there including Norwegians.) Fresh cooked grouper at the beach grill that was to die for melted in your mouth! We were in the exhale club and butler Willy was very good, did some special things for us, champagne and chocolate shoe to drink it out of! Was a treat. He was very friendly and available by WhatsApp. Not sure if we would do exhale again as the rest of the resort is all so beautiful and we spent a lot of time on the beach. Wish there were more Bali beds for general use and not charged . Also liked the NOW Onyx which blended into breathless , awesome lazy river with slides. Room was always cleaned and stocked daily. Furniture is original and has some wear and tear , patio and swim up pool was lovely. Beach service with Ana,Catherine and Andrea was very good! All the staff were wonderful! Definitely going back !!!
The resort was beautiful. So many restaurants and they all were good. The French restaurant was my favorite. Our butler Luis was amazing. Helped with anything we needed. He also surprised us with champagne and chocolate strawberries. Plus he filled our hot tub and put rose petals in it. The service everywhere was beyond belief! And everyone working here seemed so happy!
