Bahamas birthday bash!
Took my mom here for her 60th birthday...we cannot say enough good things! Everything far exceeded our expectations. It was the cleanest property I’ve ever stayed at...people were constantly wiping things down and cleaning up. The staff was so kind and friendly. The food was delicious at both the specialty restaurants and the Buffett. (The breakfast Buffett was my favorite!) We stayed in room 1123, having a great view of the pool area as well as the beautiful beach. The water was crystal and so warm. Neither the pool or beach was every too crowded, you could always get a seat. For adults only, it was incredibly relaxing and fun without getting too rowdy or seeing people push any limits. It’s literally a 60 second walk to the Atlantis where you can walk the property and use the casino. We also Wales through the Atlantis to go to Margaritaville and walk through the little shopping area, which felt incredibly safe! Luckily we had fantastic weather with just 2 rain showers in 5 days. We will definitely go back!
July Break in the Bahamas
Better than we expected. Not as hot there in mid July. Nice breeze all the time. Staff was exceptional and the resort was very clean. Fantastic location. .Right on the water with a huge pool and plenty of places to lay down and relax. Buffets were expansive and the speciality restaurants offered a variety of good food and excellent service. Only complaint I have is the music by the pool was way too loud.
We had a great 4 day getaway with great flight times. We were greeted in the lobby with champagne, and even though it was before noon, our rooms were ready. We enjoyed the pool, beach and buffet. We did not eat at any of the restaurants as we had no desire to line up at 6 pm. The resort is very clean and we found everyone to be friendly. The proximity to the Atlantis is a bonus as we went to casino, the marina and enjoyed dinner there one night. We will be back!
I’ve stayed at many all inclusive and other riu but wasn’t happy here. Yes nobody greeted us no welcome drink or help with bags. Workers are not rude but not really happy to be there. Beach and pool is packed. And to get an umbrella or table almost impossible No beach service or pool service. You can’t even take food to the beach. For the nice restaurant u have to make a line way before dinner time or u won’t get a spot. First time we got told 630 it was full then was told 615. My husband went at 6 and still didn’t get a table it was my birthday some pp lined up at 530. Who wants to worry about that on vacay. Food was for most part good but small and in buffet needs a little more variety. Now there was a huge fight in the pool bar and no security really helped. Actual guest broke up the fight. And a girl also got punched in the face by guy who started fight. It wasn’t cool fights happen especially with liquor but the fact that security didn’t really helped was crazy. Plus that girl getting knocked out. Won’t be doing any riu again. Definitely better choices better amenities for the price. Not even free water sports nothing extra the volleyball is falling apart Oh also if u stay on even side the view is horrible so try and get odd side. That’s the pool side and u won’t be seeing a jungle and loud machines. I tried to get a diff room they was willing to give me a smaller one. In other side. Made no sense The entertainment sucked at night Dj during day was good I have tried to contact them and no reply. That’s how much they care. I have the video but won’t let me upload 🤦♀️
A relaxing 4 days...
Mostly a very good time with only a few hiccups. Room Room was immaculately clean and well appointed...however we were supposed to get a superior ocean view junior suite and we ended up with a regular room overlooking the pool. Since we spend very little time in the room we didn't bother trying to change. Food Despite other reviews, we ate at 3 of the a la carte restaurants and only waiting 15 minutes in line before being seated. By no means was it "like cattle" and the food in the restaurants was great. Buffet was also excellent - lots of fresh choices, although I would have like to see more local foods. Pool/Beach Both were perfect - we always got a chair to sit where we wanted, and had the service we required. We're pretty low maintenance when relaxing by the water. Pool was very clean and well kept. Service Service at check in and inside the restaurants was STELLAR. Shout out to Travis in the main dining room - service with a smile and a great attitude. Service at the pool bar was hit and miss. It seemed like the staff at the pool bar did not enjoy their jobs and they scarcely smiled at all. I would have thought they would be the most animated and friendly but they were not. I almost felt like I was bothering them asking for a drink (and we don't drink much). Activity Staff All of them were friendly and fun. We only participated in Beach Volleyball but were encouraged to partake every time there was something going on. Crazy Games They were fun until they did a "best booty game" on the last day. As 50+ year old women we found this a bit offensive and in the age of "me too" very inappropriate. The drinking in the pool escalated after this game into some physical altercations which we viewed from our balcony. Staff seemed to handle it well until police were called. I know it's not the fault of the resort that some guest were unruly, but maybe they needed to be cut off at the bar. Overall a nice girls getaway in the Bahamas!
