Girls Trip 2019
We booked this resort due to our experience in Punta Cana. We want the same vibe and fun. We were really surprised. This resort is beautiful. The grounds were maintained daily. We did have a few issues. We arrived around 145p Sunday evening. We got our room assignments but were not able to get our keys until 3pm. We were ok with that so we decided to get some lunch. Our lunch option were terrible the first day. The food options were at a minimum. Most of the things that were on the buffet gone. Its like they stop cooking at a current time so we were struck with eating salads. After lunch we went to get our luggage and room keys to realize none of the three rooms were doubles. We all had king size beds. We were only able to change one room on Sunday and the other two the next day. Bring bug spray because our room were full of mosquitoes. They sprayed our room but that didn't work. The pools were lovely and the beach at the resort were beautiful but no swimming allowed. The resort restaurants really need some work. The breakfast buffet were just ok. We attempted to try something different so we decided on the Asian restaurant. The food were delicious. Please try to get into each restaurant will you are there because it looks like everything is buffet style. We booked a tour to few The Arch. This was tour was amazing and a must see. The clubs downtown were nice. Everything felt safe and the music was great. Overall the resort this nice and enjoyable for our five day vacation. Until next time. Also the pool parties were fun!
good valve they met my expectations from the reviews I read before I went
The place in my opinion for the money we payed was worth it. What did we pay? $1900. for 3 adults all taxes, charter flight from St. Louis with bags, transfers back and forth from airport. This was just a basic room 5 nights---everything. It was like man verses food for me ,food and drinks every 10 ft it seemed. The grounds looked good, and sure later in the afternoon after the people trashed the some of the pool areas, they got cleaned. dont miss the michael Jackson show the guy did have the steps down really. Me and wife were coming back from the beach and pasted the nighttime pool party going on...we went in and stayed. Im 51 my wife is 48. Wow ....it looked like all the videos you see ..yes. that was the only time I can say I got drunk. The liquor was good ..the basics smirnoff, johnnie walker, jim beam, evans, jamaica appleton rums, . I thought the Italian was all round best, it was nice. The steakhouse overlooking the ocean was good to, location location decent ribeye. The place was like a city in itself. Im really not a picky eater just give some fried eggs , bacon, potatoes, toast, coffee and some great juices and Im happy. For the americans....your in mexico things are going to be a little different. The ocean was really rough when got there and calm as can be when we left . I hope that helps a little.....if you can tip the workers ....their very grateful for what you give them.
We loved it!! Negative reviews are annoying
I never, and I mean NEVER write reviews, but after just returning from Riu Santa Fe and reading these negative reviews I couldn't help myself. We were there with a group of 14. Mostly family and a few friends scattered in. Our group ranged from 18-50. None of us has ever been to Cabo, but we had all been to other all inclusive. I think sometimes we forget we aren't in the US when we write these horribly negative reviews. Are we really complaining about bees? Did someone actually complain to a worker in Mexico who probably doesn't understand English very well about the bees? This is embarrassing. And yes, all resorts have towel cards. What's the big deal? So here's what I thought: Resort is a little too big for my liking. BUT: the service was outstanding, the workers are friendly and courteous and ARE WORKING THEIR TAILS OFF. They really did a superb job keeping our 6 rooms all together. The food was PLENTIFUL and we all thought the food was great. That's a hard task to pull off for a group of 14. If you can't find something to eat, stay home! Drinks are typical All Inclusive quality alcohol. Who cares, it still does the trick. Resort is clean, rooms are clean. Parties are a blast. View is breath taking. Ocean is rough. If you need to swim in the ocean like my group. Walk down the beach a bit. There is some really cute little beach restaurants down there too! Oh yeah, the complaint about the vendors all over the beach...... they have to make a living too! Buy something. Overall we had a blast. There is always good and bad at every resort. I would stay here again. If the bees and towel cards ruined your trip, get over yourself.
it was just ok
Our at Riu Santa Fe was just ok. The pools and beach access was nice. Food was ok. We tried a variety of drinks and the only ones that were drinkable were the Pina Coladas and margaritas. We were in Bldg 3. It was nice and quiet but the bldg did not have an elevator. Thank goodness we were only on the 2nd floor. A fight broke out at the pool party, we did not see it but heard all the screaming. When we peeked outside the balcony, you can see some guest running but no hotel workers were running. We saw 2 workers who were going towards the commotion with no sense of urgency. So your safety is somewhat questionable. They do not have any hotel concierge. When you ask for one, they will direct you towards the stage area where there are several sales agents selling overpriced packages. They quoted us $800 for an ATV and Arch excursion for 2. When we went downtown, we got the exact package for $150. Since they have bad reviews about people stealing from hotel rooms, we were a bit paranoid, that we did not request to have our hotel serviced for our entire 4-day stay. Nothing went missing. Overall, our stay was just ok. It was no Hyatt, but I guess you get what you paid for.
I don't particularly like all inclusives. I didn't eat here much, food was what you can expect for an all inclusive, so is the alcohol. The alcohol was gross, we drank our own. The pool was the best part. Room was nice, I liked that the spa booked out the steam room and jacuzzi area for 30 minutes per 3 persons. People we met at the pool said that RIU Palace is way better, the food is good and the alcohol is good. We stayed here to keep within our budget, it's a budget friendly place, then moved over to ME Cabo.
