    Great stay with a few quirks

    I really enjoyed my time at this hotel. The property is clean, well-maintained, and very convenient in terms of layout and amenities. The beach is absolutely phenomenal—one of the highlights of the trip. The restaurants are quite good, and I’d definitely recommend trying the à la carte options. The buffet can be a bit slim pickings at times, but overall the food experience was positive. That said, the beach hut and chair policy is a bit unusual. We even had other guests move our belongings early in the morning to take over a hut, and the staff didn’t seem particularly concerned, which was surprising. While the staff is generally friendly, there were moments of attitude—for example, at the towel exchange hut, we were given a hard time for trying to swap towels more than once in a day. These quirks didn’t ruin the vacation by any means—they were more small annoyances than anything else. Overall, I still had a great stay and would consider coming back. The hotel should consider adding more beach huts or umbrellas.

    Great service with a smile

    We had a lovely dinner at the Kyoto Restaurant and service from Jason, Manuel and Carlos. We went a second time and enjoyed a great Tepanyaki show with Chef Ryan and his team.

    not as expected

    construction right next door so beware when reserving "deluxe ocean view" View only occurs on 5th floor; 2nd and 3rd floors blocked by tree branches; noise starts at 7a.m.; calls to front desk often weren't answered or if they were, the request never happened (needing add'l robes, towels etc.). air vents very moldy; WIFI had to sign on every day sometimes multiple times per day; positive note - restaurant staff in the buffet restaurants very accommodating, friendly and professional

    Barceló hotel needs attention

    The building is old, Barceló ownes it many years now. The halls in front of the elevators on all floors flooded after nightly rains. The shower in my room had bad shampoo dispensers, easy to update. Bedside lamp’s didn’t function. Lighting in bathroom should be improved, very dark. Must go to second floor to get ice, none of the dispensers on upper floors in building 2 worked, Television remot not working, volume and channel control not functioning. Took 2 days to get it fixed. Construction of new buildings could be seen daytime and heard mornings, no one has control of this but another room would have worked. By the end of week we like to sleep in later. All inclusive rate did not equate to the value of this 7 night vacay. Sorry

    A weekend escape Nov.2025

    Location is great, on beach, drinks, spa, food service good.Housekeeping needs work.Good time overall! Front desk staff especially Giovanni very helpful.Japanese restaurant on property especially Hibachi,EXCELLENT!
