Solid hotel. Area not so great
Keeping it short and sweet: The positives: Clean clean clean ! The staff are a huge asset...ever friendly and helpful...a few names who we liked - reception : Carmen,Nuria, Melanie, Amina ( think that's correct..from Barcelona). Restaurant: Ana, Montse, Ricardo Pool bar...Giuseppe ( a real tonic...!) The breakfast: outstanding selection! Much fresh fruit..Best porridge ever ( 3 types...milk, water, oat milk...all with citrus peel and cinnamon sticks...just fab)...Cava ( Rosado and Blanco)..Fresh fruit smoothies...flavoured waters. The main pool..a bit cool at first but fine once you're in. Beautifully clean. Sauna (2 of..)... And of course the beautiful sea views. The not so good : not a great deal to comment but ..know these points: Our room was big ( think it may have been an Aparthotel at one time ...a kitchen corner with the hotplates removed it seemed like. But a large lounge area.. We didn't use the huge spa bath which seemed a bit of a redundant feature. The shower was only OK and needs refreshing....eg the side jets didn't work and the flow/temperature combi lever was not very easy to control precisely. Though the food at dinner was pretty good, the plancha cooking could do with using better quality cuts of meat ( eg thicker steaks, maybe lamb chops etc) and more carvery roast meat/ Poultry. There were too many dishes in the bain maries based on "something in a sauce" which didn't have enough turnover so we're left sitting quite a time. Could have done with having plain boiled potatoes. I am strongly opposed to being sold carafe sparking water made at the hotel. If charging for it please supply proper branded product. Wine selection...not great...and the house wine ( the red anyway) was no great shakes. Round the hotel area is OK but the centre of Santa Ponca is pretty down market ( with some decent shops/bars/restaurants......but a lot of tat shops too).Bus stop is 8/9 min walk ...for Palma or Port d'Andratx ( a much more upmarket place) . Before I forget...the steam room was dangerously hot..please be VERY careful ! All in all its a well run place of a good standard with good aspects but a let down or two.

Great hotel with extraordinary service!
We recently stayed at the Iberostar in Santa Ponça for our babymoon and really loved it. The room was very spacious and had a gorgeous view of the bay. We booked half board and were very happy with the immense variety at the food buffets every day. The service staff was extremely friendly, especially Denise, Kiki, Adama and Montse did an outstanding job at making us feel welcome and relaxed during our week at the hotel. We will definitely be back :)

Ehhh experience
Our trip was not as enjoyable as we had expected. We went here for our honeymoon trip and honestly were let down. The views are beautiful and the room is spacious and clean (aside for tiny bathroom) however those were the major positives of the hotel. We did not get “excellent” service from staff and honestly were chasing them down most of the time which discouraged us greatly. We did the Star Prestige and were expecting more for what we paid. The food at the buffets were always COLD. If it had been HOT or even warm we would have enjoyed it more as there were different options but after a few meals it is really hard to enjoy cold food. This hotel definitely has an older demographic and is very quiet with not much to do. I really felt letdown for our homeymoon trip and wish we would’ve gone elsewhere.

Quality hotel with fabulous staff.
Excellent hotel with a view to die for. The staff are tremendous and display professionalism alongside friendliness and an eagerness to please. The suites are perfect and clean, with everything you need for your stay. Naurie, Lucas and Marc from the entertainment team do a grand job and the cocktail workshops are fun. Food is very good with a wide and variable choice. We will definitely return. Thanks.
