  Beautiful pools beach & property - food below average

  We have enjoyed the Cancun iberostar twice, this is not the same. Pools and beach - property are beautiful. Staff unfriendly. Food overall disappointing. Marimba aka Smokehouse brisket & pulled pork, morning juices and lettuce salad were the best options, or ice cream. Website boasts 8 Restaurants, but Reservations were not available at the Italian, Mexican or French Restaurants, (Italian closed until the 21st). We found the Buffets redundant (fried unknown meats, bread, margarine type butter) pizza, fries & (burgers wrapped under warmer. Fruits overall lacking flavor). English Speaking travelers brush up on Spanish as most of the staff seem to not know English. Keep your translator close. Overall just a different vibe, not many smiles, servers seemed unhappy. Sadly would not return. Missing the happy smiles and food of Mexico right now.

  Above and Beyond

  This was my first trip with the Zumba group (Gina). The experience exceeded all my expectations. We were greeted by the fabulous staff with music and dancing. It put a smile on my face that continued for seven days. The rooms were comfortable and extremely clean! The restaurants and the buffets were delicious although I did prefer the buffets because of the many choices. Having a Latin background I extremely enjoyed the rice and beans, platanos and flan. There are so many choices that every time I went to the buffet, I was totally impressed! The pastries were fabulous…. There are no words to describe the staff!!! I was always welcomed with smiles and hellos. Any question I had was taken care of promptly. Wonderful team! The Iberostar Punta Cana definitely deserves a 5 STAR RATING! I will definitely be back next year. Gracias

  Best Iberostar Vacation Ever!

  Words cannot do justice to describe how absolutely perfect this vacation was! To begin, the staff at Iberostar Waves, is topnotch! I love their friendly kindness and jovial personalities. They made me feel so special as if we had been friends forever. The management with Santa and Stefano made sure all was to our liking and it exceeded all expectations. Maria our pool server waitress is an absolute treasure! She was so attentive and helpful. I love her! We changed our room to a pool view and the assistant who we called Princess(she didn't like her name but would prefer Princess☺)went above and beyond to help make the change and make sure the new room was to our liking. We talked to her often because we liked her so much! Our breakfast waiters in the Dominicana side were so attentive and ade sure we had our cappuchino and coffee refills always with a smile on their faces. It was Angel but I cannot remember the name of the other gentleman. The animation team was wonderful especially Chocolate, Gigi, and Jennifer! I loved dancing with them! I just wish there were more of them to dance with like there was on my first trip there in 2002! The food was exceptional too and I so appreciated the Welcome Dinner and White Night! The buffets were delicious too and the variety was terrific especially the fruit. I was disappointed mango wasn't in season, which was a yummy memory from my 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007, and 2011 trips with Jeananne, aka Gina, before she started her Zumba trips there! I plan on returning as long as the Zumba trips continue. It feels like home there in paradise with the lovely Dominican people. I think it will be hard to top this year's trip and its perfection but will happy to see the establishment try! God willing, see you next year!   Another great trip with the Zumba group and experiencing the wonderful people, beaches, and accommodations at Iberostar

  I’ve been to this resort approximately six times. I was at the resort this February as part of a Zumba group. This is an annualtrip and without doubt it is one of the best experiences I’ve had staying at a resort. The room was clean and extremely comfortable and the grounds were pristine. What makes Iberostar waves special is the staff. Everyone from the groundskeepers to the management makes you feel that you are part of their family. The shows and food were very good as was the service. I also had the opportunity to play golf and the course is spectacular. Iberostar Punta Cana waves feels like a second home, and I would highly recommend it if you’re considering a trip to Punta Cana. I can’t wait for next year to return to the beautiful people and beaches.

  Great trip. Looking forward to going again

Their passion, positivity, and nonstop energy kept everyone motivated, no matter your fitness level. Whether you were front row owning every move or just finding your rhythm in the back, you felt supported and completely part of the vibe. Beyond the dance floor, the trip was beautifully balanced. We had time to relax by the pool, enjoy stunning beaches, explore local culture, and indulge in amazing Dominican cuisine. The resort accommodations were comfortable and welcoming, and the staff made everything seamless. But the true highlight? The people. There’s something special about bonding through dance. By the end of the trip, we weren’t just participants — we were a family. Laughing between routines, cheering each other on, and making memories that will last far longer than any sore muscles.
