I was really looking forward to staying at Melia Cozumel but it definitely fell short of my expectations. For it being an all inclusive the dining choices were awful. To make reservations was a hassle and the agents who handled them are clearly not interested in helping you and make you jump through hurdles to get them done (and not accurate when done) the food itself is mediocre cold and hard like it sat around for a while. The servers and bartenders were amazing but everything else was not so great! Sorry but I would never be back.

Welcoming friendly staff. Great advice on beverage options. Bartenders are knowledgeable and very kind. William at the Lobby bar is an amazing guy. He makes the best drinks. Great location and beach!

Short story: we had the pleasure of staying at Meliá Cozumel All-Inclusive for a week and it was fantastic! Long story: we stayed for a week at Meliá Cozumel All-Inclusive and loved every minute of it. Hint: if booking for “the Level” is within your budget, do it. Also: if you can, tip your servers, something. They work hard and that little bit goes a long way for them. We never had a bad meal, snack (botanas) or drink. Every whim we had was seen to in very timely course. All amenities were delivered as advertised, all accommodations were clean and up-to-date. Check in and check out were flawless. There isn’t an aspect of this hotel that we didn’t find first-rate (not Carlos Slim 1% first-rate). To be clear, staying here was well-worth the cost. It’s also worth emphasizing the hotel adheres to high standards of professionalism, cleanliness, quality of products (food & drink) and services. It’s a well-oiled machine, they make it look easy and - having sampled our share of all-inclusive resorts - we know very well how poorly it can be done. Said colloquially, these folks’ll hook you up. Please note there was not one poor interaction we had with any of the hotel employees; everyone we encountered was as nice as they could be. That noted, while we don’t know all the names of everyone we met, we’d like to throw a shoutout to some of the wonderful people we did get to know better and saw everyday (in order of meeting them): Concierge, Gerardo, always had time for us and greased any wheels we needed attention to. The buffet attendants: Antonio, Ana, Yamili, Jose (omelette chef extraordinaire). Ivan “the not-so-Terrible”, the snorkel shack jefe. Diego and Cirse, beachmasters. Bartenders Agustin, Willian and Santiago. The restaurant managers and chefs. Again using colloquialisms, these folks were the bomb, the shiznit and if you’re as old as I am, the bee’s knees. Thank you all - everyone at the Meliá - so much!

A Phenomenal Experience
First time in Cozumel and at the Meliá resort and it was absolutely magical. The resort was quaint and lovely, lots to do in the day, performances and shows at night, family friendly and had an adults only section. The food was delicious and something new, everyday, for breakfast lunch and dinner. Staff was attentive wherever we went. The #1 best waiter was Jorge Vivas at the buffet. He went above and beyond, very attentive, awesome personality, great humor, all around lovely person. I will definitely come back to Melia just to interact with him again. The Level bartender, Willian, made AMAZING cosmos and was very versatile. The Level pool bartender, Santiago, was absolutely wonderful and very attentive even when it got busy. It’s always Happy Hour with Santiago! There’s plenty of ways to explore the island of Cozumel and learn about the Mayan history. The tour guides at Melia were quick to provide you with whatever excursion you wanted to experience. Everyone at Melia was friendly beyond compare. We were here for 6 days and never had a bad experience. Well, apart from the sunburn, so make sure to bring lots of sunblock. All in all, only positive vibes, friendly smiles, fantastic memories, and an amazing experience to never forget! Thank you for having us, Melia! We will definitely be back!
