  Home away from home

  This hotel is 10 out of 10. This is a very child friendly, spacious place with a relaxed atmosphere. I travelled worldwide extensively before starting a family, but have been going to Maui in the last 5 years and for the most part stayed here. I first came here with a 1.5 year old daughter on my own and a couple of times with husband, and recently we celebrated her 3rd birthday here. What makes this hotel stand out is its excellent location in the best part of the island, many amenities like very spacious rooms and suites, included breakfast, free area shuttle, a little store with food and snacks at the front desk and most importantly the people that work here. We literally have the sense of "Ohana"- family when we stay here. I am an immigrant and have not been able to visit family in the last 4 years due to war. Whenever I visit, staff at this hotel makes me feel like at home. I don't feel this way in Utah where I live. The island vibe is amazing, but also everything works and service is amazing. I stayed in Ritz-Calton and Westin in Kaanapali and Kapalua, as well as in private home in Haiku, and still choose this hotel for location, the low key relaxed vibe and service. People that work here have been amazing: wonderful drivers Ferdinand, Berlin and Alex (retired), Bethany, Chris, Tony and Kalana at the front desk, kitchen staff Gemma, Ador and many many others that I can't remember names of! Mahalo for your warm welcome, the spirit of aloha, you are truly special for our family.

  The staff is superb

  I love this hotel and was so excited to return. The staff are unbelievably kind and helpful - some of the best I’ve encountered anywhere. The front desk staff are all excellent and I would also like to acknowledge the one gentleman who helps with breakfast. You’ll know who I’m speaking of as soon as you first encounter him. He makes you feel like family. The pool is generously sized, well cared for and clean. I recommend hitting the pool shortly after breakfast. It's rarely very crowded, but that seems like an especially good time. The breakfast buffet is very good in my opinion. Delicious and free is a great way to start the day. Just don't leave your plate (or really take your eye off it). The breakfast tables are open to the outdoors, and the little bird will (for sure) steal your food if you aren't looking. The rooms are really beautiful. We've enjoyed a fantastic pool and ocean view when we've been here. The balcony is a pleasure to have, and it's a real benefit to have a nice sized refrigerator/kitchenette. Maui has some fantastic restaurants, so I don't recommending skipping out on those...but having snacks and perhaps the occasional meal in your room can save some cash (and is obviously very convenient). The washers are great as well- Speed Queen. They're not like some of the little cheap ones you sometimes see that don’t clean your clothes. Having them is a huge benefit to me, as it helps me to pack light. I don't have to check a bag and it's just nice to not have to bring as much stuff to the island. I can’t wait to return…and hope it’s soon.

  Pretty area

  Would give 3.5 stars but the people are nice so didn't want to ding them. Had a 2 queen, one room suite with myself and two teenage Boys. Pros: very pretty area of Wailea. Pool is big and nice. Bar food selection when it's open is good. Water bottle filling station with cold, good tasting water on 2nd floor a nice touch. Ice water stations exist also. Comfortable beds. Daily cleaning service was excellent. Basketball court is only about 25feet wide but was good for my boys to play on. Cons: check in was 20min late. Doesn't seem like much but after a long travel day this was a hurt. Don't plan on checking in early at all. Not sure if they were short staffed or what. Bar doesn't open til 3:30pm daily so it's BYO food/drink til then. Ceilings are thin, herd of elephants checked in above us. Sofa bed uncomfortable so didn't use. Breakfast is standard hotel fare, nothing special. Not worth waking my growing Boys up for. On our pool day, closest umbrella was broken with no pin to make it stay up. For the price of this place all that should be in working order. There are no cabanas, the pic on here is old.

  A gem on Maui

  In general, I dont like hotels that have a kitchenette. They never get this right and there´s always some grime or some dirt or some... They got this right here in Maui of all places and the whole hotel is a gem. If I had to find a fault, their warm breakfast is a bit so so but overall even the free breakfast is pretty okay. Clean and friendly. Very good.

  Wonderful staff and perfect for a family vacation.

  We stayed here for a week with grandparents, parents and a baby. We loved our spacious and well equipped rooms and the free breakfast buffet every morning. The free shuttle took us to nearby properties and shops and we also had a rental car. The pool Is huge and there was a cute play area for kids.
