Speechless !!
Excellent location, within the Punta Cana complex, great option for couples since it is a hotel for adults, the suites are spectacular, as well as the different bars and swimming pools, there are many activities and the all-inclusive package gives access to almost everything. The food is good and there are many options according to your needs, there are also parties three times a week in another hotel of the same chain with transportation included if one wishes to go. On Sundays the hotel makes one on the beach. Ideal for rest and uncontrolled rumba hahaha it depends on the type of vacation you want

Don’t worry about the negative reviews
Had a lovely stay at the Riu Republica. Was nervous after reading all the negative reviews but we didn’t have any issues at all. We were in room 1328 which was on the quieter side of the complex. Everything was perfect! The staff were brilliant with a special mention to Leone who kept us supplied with mimosas at breakfast. Everyone was pleasant and extremely hard working. I think the only issues we had were the night time entertainment which wasn’t our cup of tea, but the days more than made up for it. All in all we had a fab time!

Run the other way IMMEDIATELY!!! Call the health Inspector!!
This place should be BULLDOZED IMMEDIATELY!!! I would not recommend anyone to stay here EVER! I ventured here blindly with a group of more than 200 people!!! If you desire a high level of cleanliness of the rooms or property, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO VISIT! The entire property in Punta Cana smelled like RAW SEWAGE throughout the grounds!! The grass was not well maintained for it to be a “Resort”. My friends’ room smelled like complete doo doo while a/c was blowing. The A/C was not able to be moderated. It was EXTREMELY COLD and the only way to stop it was to open the balcony doors. For other rooms, a lot of folks did not have any air conditioning! Multiple rooms had roaches, no hot water to shower with throughout the entire property. The beds were hard as a center block! It left my hip sore each night! The food was absolutely disgusting and poorly prepared! The only place worth really eating is the jerk chicken hut on the beach! It is the only Pro for the entire property! The silverware and dishes were poorly cleaned too. There is also very poor lightning available in the vestibules heading to some rooms. Upon initial check in, it took us almost 4 1/2 hrs to get to our room. The staff was unapologetic at every avenue. The process was very inefficient and the staff were not courteous. They did not even provide towel key cards after such a long wait.100’s of people were in line for hours on end and they would just move people from one long line to another line and then that employee would go on break or go home. People were getting very hot and bothered in extreme heat. The bedding in the rooms was not clean in multiple rooms. The bathrooms had leftover hair throughout areas that were alleged to have been cleaned prior. All they did the entire 6 days I was there is swap people from one room to the next, trading one problem for another or similar one. This resort needs to be demolished and gutted so they can figure out why it smells like raw sewage and hot doo doo in the rooms and throughout the entire property! 0 out of 10, DO NOT RECOMMEND!!NEVER AGAIN SHALL I RETURN!

Excellent
The staff are brilliant, friendly and helpful. excellent choice of food (I’m very fussy). Great entertainment and plenty of variety. Rooms are clean and tidy. Although it can be looked at as a “party hotel” there’s plenty of places to relax and enjoy if you don’t want to party. me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and excursions. Only negative which im sure they would have resolved was sometimes our toilet leaked out of the handle as it would overflow, however I did not go to reception as I was to lazy and wasn’t that bothered so I just turned it off in the night and when we weren’t there during the day. Also shower was not always “warm” but I’m not going to complain about that as who wants a boiling shower in 30°c heat. Great hotel would definitely recommend and go back. Ps please it might seem overwhelming at first but within a day you will get used to it.

Worst disappointment ever!
I am so extremely disappointed! Our room did not have hot water the first day, but they did fix that promptly. Our fan in our room did not work but thankfully the air-conditioning was working and did keep the room cold. There was an odd full view window in the shower that had frosted glass which anyone in the room could get a nice visual of the person showering, thank goodness it was only the two of us! The hallways were noisy and if you were on an interior section of the resort the hallways were dark, even at night, not a very safe feeling. There were only 4 floors to this resort, and yes we were on the fourth floor. this leads me to my next complaint that the elevators in our section were broke. They worked on and off for 2 of the 4 days we were there and the others not at all and if you were lucky, you caught them when they were working. They smelled like musty stale beer. My boyfriend has a heart condition and we should not of had to walk up and down stairs all of the time. The working elevators were on the complete opposite side of our section which was quite a distance and to get there you had to walk down the dark hallways which at night didn't make us feel very comfortable. We aren't old by any means but honestly, it didn't make it very relaxing. The food was cold and the restaurants were buffets, except one which was a steak house and you needed a reservation. Needless to say, there were no available reservations for our four day stay available. The sports bar which is open 24 hours, is true but if you wanted to eat there, the you had to eat a gray/pink hot dog from a warmer, burgers were in a fridge and needed heated up in the microwave (which was dirty inside), nacho chips were stale and the nacho cheese was cold and also needed nuked ! The drinks at the bar were subpar and no matter how much you tipped...it just got you waited on sooner, other resorts I have been to "took care of your drinks" with a little extra shot here and there. My loss I guess. The beach chairs were dirty and never wiped off from the previous day. There were sticky spots from spilled drinks and some had food that had dried on them. Some of the reclining backs were broke and if I wanted to get out of the sun and sit up under the trees, I shouldn't have to watch out for used condoms before I put my stuff down!! The beach was never raked and seaweed was everywhere. If you like jerk chicken and that's all you ever want to eat at the beach than its perfect. There is nothing else, you'd have to go find a buffet. I am just extremely disappointed and I spent over 3K to stay here! That may not be much to some, but it is to me. I do not recommend this resort, it definitely needs remolded and needs some desperate changes! Not relaxing, food is terrible and just dirty. I booked this through AAA and they partnered with Pleasant Holidays Travel. NEVER AGAIN. Save your money!
