Stayed one night after getting off boat. It was a disaster from start to finish. Arrived at 10.30am to wait until 3pm for checkin. Didn’t get into room until 4.45pm. We’d asked for a twin but got 1 large bed so had to organise the couch bed ourselves. Only a trickle of water from shower and basin and not fixed after many visits to the front desk as they wouldn’t answer the phone. Next morning absolutely no water and toilet not flushing!!! After a number of visits to the desk they sent us to another hotel to use a hospitality room before we had to go to the airport for a 30 hour trip home. We were not the only people complaining as we met many othe disgruntled guests in the reception area. One man has already put a review on here.
One Star.....only for the beach and surroundings....everything else is awful!
Don't let the few good photos that I took fool you....I tried to savour the few and far picturesque moments of this hotel! In reality however, the only beautiful thing was the beach and layout of the pool. I booked a room and was promised a balcony at the time of the booking. After checking in upon entering the room there was no balcony, but rather a window overlooking a dump and a construction site! There was no airconditioning, but rather a huge giant unit that resembled a fan...or maybe it was supposed to be a mobile airconditioning unit? Either way it didn't cool the room at all! I felt I was given the worst room in the hotel....it was really small and had a giant ceiling post in the center of the room! Bathroom was quite old and dated, and amenities were basic. Breakfast was kind of crappy as well. Seemed overly expensive and they didn't have any FRESH OJ despite advertising... The hotel also charges you for keys! If you lose you keycard you have to pay a fee! You also need to show your keycard to get a beach towel. If you don't bring back your towel you don't get your keycard back and have to pay a fee as well! Quite ridiculous! What was also ridiculous was the cost of the room....US$258 for 1 night....not worth it
Dirty & Dated
First of all the positive is the location during the day it looks like a picture postcard just as you would imagine Beautiful Barbados to be. Unfortunately that's where the dream ends, the hotel is really shabby and so unclean, I know wonder that they have rats and roaches with the amount of rubbish and debris around the corridors it is ridiculous, we had room trays on our corridor just left there for the 2 nights 3 days we were there. Our supposed to be ocean fronted room overlooked the swimming pool. The jacuzzi had no plug so we couldn't use it, we asked at reception 1/2 dozen times. Our room smelled of damp and was just so tired with chipped furniture and poor bathroom facilities. At night time the beach is just overrun with rats. The food is way overpriced and mediocre. The breakfast again is overpriced with lots of ways of offering deep fried battered sugary produce. I don;t know how this place can get away with being rated a 4 star, it would be scraping a 3 purely because of the view. It should be closed down and fumigated. Very disappointed. If you want a beautiful place to stay at half the price with great entertainment and a beautiful beach and staff who just can't do enough for you go to The Butterfly Hotel, the place is heaven on earth and absolutely immaculate.
Another great stay
This is our fifth year of staying at this hotel and again we had a great time. The hotel is ideally situated on beautiful Rockley Beach. Yes as others have mentioned the bathrooms need refurbishing but our room was clean with an abundance of hot water. The maids every day kept it so and provided plenty of clean towels. The food in the restaurants all good specially the Accra deck and Pacifica. The majority of staff friendly and helpful especially Deborah at breakfast and the beach towel ladies. Check in was easy and quick. The only downside was that I was surprised at the amount of bottled water they give away given the environmental issues. Reinstating water dispensers on the bars would be a better idea.
Worst service ever
Stayed one night 31/1/2020 , waited until 7:30pm to get our room. Return again on the 15/2/2020 5pm and still waiting for a room along with 15 other guests!!! Disgraceful The staff don’t seem to have any sense of urgency. I will never return
