What to Do
Cancun is broken up in to three sections: The Hotel Zone, Downtown Cancun and the Ecological Reserve. The Hotel Zone is the liveliest, the Ecological Reserve is all about the ecosystem and Downtown Cancun is the best area for inexpensive shopping and culture.
The beautiful white sand beaches of Cancun are actually made up of crushed coral from the Yucatan Peninsula that lies on The Great Mayan Barrier Reef, which is the second largest coral reef in the world after Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.
Cancun is home to three of the largest Cenotes systems in the entire world, the Ox Bel Ha, Nohoch Nah Chich and Dos Ojos. The crystal-clear waters and undisturbed beauty provide some of the most wonderful underwater experiences.
