Never been treated so poorly ever.
First, I would like to say that my family have been members for over 7 years. We are UVC members (the 227th members, I understand that there are now over 100 000). I have never In my entire life been so frustrated, and stressed, while on vacation. My experience in the past few days at the Dreams and Now Amber (we had to change hotels because we were treated so poorly at Dreams Nuevo Vallarta) Puerto Vallarta has been nothing short of appalling. The very first night in our rooms at Dreams a high pitched noise kept us up all night. When we made a complaint to the reception, we were moved in the middle of the night to a different room. My mother had just undergone a biopsy and was in incredible pain throughout our stay here. The bell boy told us it was a KNOWN issue before we arrived and that the hotel still booked us into the rooms, knowing there was an issue beforehand. The next day we had to change rooms again. The food at Dreams was nothing short of revolting. The buffet served a tray of RAW chicken. No not pink, but completely raw, with white fat and blood. When I informed the waiter of the issue, he took my piece aside and brought my complaints to the chef. The entire time I was seated the tray was NOT removed or inspected. There was a family with two infant children seated with us, who could have become very ill if they had eaten it. The UVC office refused to make any compensation for the vacation time we spent talking with them and the reception. They LIED to us, saying that the cancellation fee for changing hotels would be waved (I was informed later that UVC members do not pay a fee regardless of the reason of cancellation.) We were told that the Now Amber would be informed of our transfer (two days before our arrival today) and that we would be able to check in at 1pm at the LATEST. When we arrived at the Now Amber, not only were unable to check in until 4pm (3 hours of waiting with a winter coat in hand, without even having wifi access) but when I personally made a formal complaint at the UVC desk with Carmina, I was MOCKED by a member of the staff standing behind me. A tall Caucasian gentleman with blonde hair and blue eyes (I was told his name was McLaden, working at the Now Amber UVC desk). That man represents UVC,and AM Resorts and should be FIRED immediately. In fact, a person with that kind of blatant disregard for professionalism should be black listed from hotel/resort work all together, especially at AM Resort locations. I’ve never in my life been so angry, frustrated, mistreated, insulted, or demeaned in my entire life. My family fully intends on selling our membership and never making another booking at another AM Resort location again. Ever. I will be sharing this experience with every medium I can, until reparations are made and that man is fired. No one should ever have this kind of experience on vacation. IF FOUNDING MEMBERS ARE TREATED THIS POORLY, IMAGINE HOW THEY WILL TREAT YOU WITHOUT A MEMBERSHIP. I will be telling everyone I know to sell their memberships, and never make a booking at any AMR locations. Disgusting. (The room wasn’t even properly prepared, the bathtub was dirty, items were missing, etc...) The only saving grace of AM Resorts are Hector (chief concierge of Dreams Nuevo Vallarta) and Pedro (Head waiter at Dreams) who had the decency to apologize profusely, and attempt to make reparations.
Great Vacation Spot!!!!
Elizabeth is an incredible pool concierge! She took the time To get to know us. It’s very easy to text her via iMessage and she helps us with whatever we need. The resort is beautiful & very relaxing. I will absolutely come back!!!!
had an amazing experience at Secrets Resort. Elizabeth, the concierge is so sweet and helpful. She gives top notch service and is very down to earth. The food was fantastic and so was the atmosphere and service.
Could not be better
Absolutely love this resort. This is our 4th visit in the last year. All of the employees go above and beyond, but our favorites are Francisco at the Oceana restaurant and Noeh, the pool concierge. The food is consistently fantastic! Guests are treated like gold. No need to try other resorts. This could not be better.
Great Food, Fabulous Staff, lovely Resort...but
My rating is only two at this resort sadly because of our experience with them not honouring their agreement. We stayed in December and had booked Preferred Club on the Now Amber side, after one night we decided to upgrade ourselves to the Secrets side because our balcony view was a wall, we had to stand up to see our view and we decided we would want the adult quieter side. Our new room was lovely with the swim out pool. I cannot say enough about the staff at the resort, they are tireless, friendly, amazing people. Rueben at the beach found us chairs, and Maria, Anthony at the desk were very lovely people. The noise in the room is very loud from about 0830 to 2230, it plays all day all evening, and if there is a wedding at the outdoor venue, enjoy their music also. Overall it was tolerable. However, at this time, we are sad to say, we would not return to this resort or any other of the Secrets, Breathless, Now, properties. During our stay there was a persistent encouragement to take 90 minutes to have breakfast and listen to the presentation, we finally agreed and we were going to be provided with a $300 room credit off of our upgrade since we spent a considerable amount to upgrade ourselves. We agreed, I was provided the coupons of the $300USD after the presentation which I then presented right away to Ayudo at the check in, he provided me with a sheet showing the credits would be returned. We were advised that it would take a few days. We flew home on December 23 and have still not received the credits back to our Visa. I phoned the resort and spoke with Alan, a manager, January 5, he advised it was being processed. My husband emailed the resort twice again and we were advised by Carlos that it would be processed. We still have not heard anything back, nor is there a pending transaction on our statements. This does not reflect well on the resort.
