Until Next Time
I had a totally magical experience at Secrets The Vine in Cancun, Mexico. The entire trip was a dream, the hotel is the definition of luxury, and the staff is friendly, accommodating, and attentive. I would like to personally and sincerely thank the staff of the Dragon restaurant, especially the manager Boris and Chef Isidro, as well as our waiters Erick and Sebastian, for a dinner I won't soon forget.
Honeymoon @ Secrets of the Vine
My husband and I absolutely loved staying at Secrets of the Vine Cancun. We were treated amazingly. All the food we had was delicious. We also got a couples massage by Mercedes and Reura. They did an amazing job. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Cancun.
Great resort but my experience was not Preferred as I paid for
I just returned from Secrets the Vine in Cancun where I did have a lovely time but average is my rating because I overall did not receive the full preferred experience that I paid for. I booked the Preferred Ocean Front Honeymoon Suite which should place you on their higher floors 21-28, Butler service and access to Preferred restaurant Olio, private rooftop pool area and preferred snacking lounge. 1. I was not placed on the preferred floors, instead we were on floor 11 where all activities poolside was definitely heard of and clear. Nightly entertainment and all. It was nice to see the shows balcony side in the room but the same would have been better on the higher floor as promised during the booking. 2. When you go to the restaurants you give details about yourself and room number. Bc our room was on the lower floor their was confusion about allowing us to go in the preferred olio restaurant. It was sorted but unnecessary confusion. 3. The food was decent overall. Room service food came cooler than preferred at times but decent. Overall we had a good time but my chief complaint is the inconsistency in the paid for booking vs what was received. And when I brought up this problem for instance about being on the non preferred floor they said you are preferred just not on the floors for it because we ran out of rooms... However I confirmed at the time of booking that I'd be in the preferred floors. I do like Secrets and even invested in an Unlimited vacation plan since it is economically a sound investment. I hope the experiences in the future are better.
Dont know if i would come back here
Service is great outside in the dinning everhone is very helpfull and attentive. However there was blood on the floor and a few smeared dropped follwing the blood in my room. Room service has came twice already and everything i am mentioning is still the same. ,one pillow smells really bad and still does after asked for new pillows, si we just threw the pillow in a corner. also most of the outlets dont work and one of the sinks is clogged. In addition to all this my wife plugged in th makeup mirror and it shorted out made a big spark in her hand and burned her finger lightly. On the last note witch itsnt a big deal but the room i got is a junior suite with is a great rooming room but the chioce of tv size is ridiculously small . such a nice and spacious room to only have a little 40 in tv screen . kind of hard to watch when laying down look like a tablet on the wall
We have just returned from an amazing Honeymoon at Secrets the Vine, it exceeded our expectations and more! We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived to the moment that we left. Our room contained a lovely welcome of sparkling wine and fresh fruit and a Honeymoon banner on the door. We had a huge balcony overlooking the beautiful beach and our room was extremely comfortable and clean with a lovely turndown service each evening. We were impressed by the tablet ordering and Information system - we found this to be very useful. All staff are an absolute credit to the hotel - I have never experienced such amazing and consistent customer service from a hotel before - everyone who you encounter is friendly, professional and want to go above and beyond to ensure that you are looked after. We were absolutely blown away by all of the amazing restaurants and the quality of the food and drink throughout our stay - personally we didn’t feel that the quality differed between restaurants and we are foodies with high standards. We also took advantage of the room service options on a couple of occasions for both breakfast and dinner which was really useful for lazy mornings and after long excursions. We enjoyed eating breakfast at Dragons as it was quieter and away from the morning hustle and bustle of the market cafe which can get very busy and loud. We had no problem finding sun loungers during our stay and the bad service was outstanding. There is a good programme of entertainment during the day too - we particularly enjoyed water aerobics with Yessica, pool Pictionary and pool poker as well as the Motown boys performance. The location of the hotel is excellent and the beach area was always kept clean as the masses of seaweed is cleared away on a regular basis but it didn’t bother us anyway. The only annoying thing that we experienced and is outside of the hotels control is the people trying to sell items to you on the beach. It is relentless but they do go when you politely refuse. All in all it was a fantastic honeymoon and we hope to return. Before going we did read some unfavourable reviews on the hotel but I can honestly say that our experience was amazing and we loved every minute of it.
