A Must Stay in the Seven Mile Area

I love this hotel. I will always be staying here in the future. It is perfect for those of us who want to be on seven-mile beach and afford a good hotel there. Positives: 1. Amazing location, close to a number of eating places, including a spectacular vegan restaurant 2. Staff is friendly and makes you feel comfy 3. Rooms are clean and updated 4. Hotel's restaurant serves delicious food and is a must try Negatives: 1. Is not located directly on the beach BUT you do have access to the beach through the hotel's sister property which is a short walk across the street 2. Breakfast in the hotel could use some improvement Overall, this hotel is amazing and if you do not need to have a room to see the ocean from, this hotel is a must stay for you. It really does help that you can just walk accrpss the street and use the facilities in this hotel's sister hotel and the beach is just amazing. This is one of the best hotels on Seven Mile Beach

Sick from mildew, odor, awful scent in room

After arriving in our hotel room, I began to experience coughing/breathing difficulties due to the heavy odor/ fragrance in the room which Henry addressed by offering another room. Unfortunately, the room was as bad as the first room. Soon after being in the second room, my symptoms started again so we began to look around the room to locate the culprit of the injuring smell and found a plug-in air freshener, which we removed and gave to Henry. After removing the air-freshener and opening all the windows we waited for the scent to dissipate. Unfortunately, it did not…my couching/breathing difficulties became worse, plus we found a second plug-in air fresher in the room. We can only assume the air-fresheners were covering up other odors in the room…perhaps mold which I am allergic. Anyway, we explained to Henry my condition worsened and found a second plug-in, then asked if we could receive a full refund because the odor triggered asthmatic/breathing difficulties. Henry apologized and said due to my asthmatic/breathing difficulties he could and would absolutely give us a 100% refund, which was not done and charged us for one night. Also, I should add that when I made the initial reservation with the hotel directly on the phone, I inquired about potential odors such as mildew and was told their rooms are fine and were recently updated. Unfortunately, I was misled and had to experience an unfortunate health incident after traveling several hours to our destination. Very, very disappointed!!!

Ok if you never plan to be in your room

I'm a bit confused by a lot of the reviews. Our experience was very different. First, the good: The room was tidy, and we appreciated the kitchenette. The air conditioner worked well, and the ceiling fans kept the air moving. Disappointing, but not a deal-breaker: The window was welded shut, which was disappointing in a place where a nice evening breeze is part of the charm. And the resort is well-located across the road from the Westin/beach and shares amenities and beach access with the Westin, but to get to the beach, you need to walk down a well-trafficked road without a sidewalk and past the very smelly trash bins of a strip mall. Everything else, though, wasn't so good. The bathroom was very small with a bathtub/shower combo that was disgusting. It was dirty and had very low water pressure. The handle in the shower was extremely finicky, and it was impossible to find a temperature between cold and scalding. On the second day, the shower curtain began to smell of mildew, a smell that lasted the entire week we were there. Housekeeping was good the first two days, but they were very late the third day, showing up after 6pm. After that, they never came before noon, usually arriving in the afternoon when we had returned to the room to relax before going out for the evening. The day before we left, they took our soap and didn't replace it. Halfway through our stay, both of our key cards stopped working simultaneously. The woman at the desk blamed us for demagnetizing them, but the cards weren't kept anywhere near each other, and that's not likely. It was just weird. I'm not generally one to post bad reviews (just check my other reviews), but this was a really poor experience for a very expensive room. I guess if you're just there for the beach and never going to return to the room it's fine, but it was not a good experience. I wouldn't go back.

Wonderful place in Cayman

It's so nice, wonderful friendly staff, convenient location to The Seven Mile Beach, Enjoying all the amenities if the Westin when enjoying a big room, and reasonable price. They restaurant is rightly named to be the best "Burger" in the town, their cocktails are very nice, just remember to ask for an extra shot.

The kitchenette proved very useful and the welcome cocktails were a pleasant surprise.

Excellent location and room was spacious and comfortable. The access to the Westin hotel was enjoyed by my elderly mom and myself. The shuttle service from SS to Westin was also an excellent feature. The beds were comfortable and the kitchenette worked out fine except that only one of the burners worked so it was slightly awkward to get a dinner fixed in an efficient manner. We needed to do more planning since only one burner worked.
