    Cayman on a budget

We stayed at the sunshine suites for 5 days. We chose this hotel based on our budget ROOM: We had a studio king room which was very clean. The room had a full size refrigerator with microwave, stove top, toaster, coffee maker, and plates and utensils. Our bed was made every day and we were also given fresh towels. The only thing I did not like about the room is that there was no in room safe. GROUNDS: The grounds of sunshine suites was kept very nice. They have a pool with lounge chairs and tables. They also have chairs scattered through out the resort. Parking was free. There was no elevator to get to the second floor rooms. SISTER PROPERTY (WESTIN): The use of this property was an AMAZING PERK! it was located directly across the street and was about a 5 minute walk. At the Westin you are able to use everything as if it was your own hotel. You can even charge food and drinks to your room at sunshine. The Westin has a pool with swim up bar and two hot tubs. The Westin has activities every night. One night they had trivia and a dj. Another night they had a movie and popcorn on the beach. Another night they had a bonfire with s’mores. FOOD: The tacos at sunshine grill were AMAZING. They provide breakfast included with your stay which isn’t at the grill but a small building next To it. They had fresh fruit, pancakes, hard boiled eggs, toast, beef patties, hot and cold cereal. At the Westin they have happy hour, half off mixed drinks and buy one get one free beer from 5-7pm. I only ate appetizers at the Westin which were anywhere from $10-$15 CI. There are a few places to eat on your walk to the Westin. Eats cafe, Legends sports bar and grill, a sushi place and peach wave frozen yogurt. There is also a liquor store. We ate off property most days, heritage kitchen and coconut joes were our favorites. we rented a car while staying here and were able to drive about 9 miles down the beach to a public beach called Spotts. Here you will find sea turtles. This was better than paying to go to the turtle farm. We also did the excursion to stingray city with starfish island. I actually found the activity on trip advisor and it was $54 a person. They picked us up and dropped us off to and from our resort. On the boat they had soda, juice, and water for us. They also had someone taking pictures for purchase. The two guys running the boat were fun and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend sunshine suites resorts to anyone who wants to travel to grand cayman on a budget !!

    Fantastic Value

My husband and I stayed in a one bedroom suite for our honeymoon. We were warmly welcomed with congratulations on our marriage from the hotel staff. The hotel is an easy walk from the beach (with shuttle available), the grounds are beautifully maintained, and continental breakfast is provided. Sunshine Suites offered such great value that we were able to stay and enjoy a full week on Cayman and Seven Mile Beach, which we would not have been able to afford if we had stayed at the sister property the Westin or its neighbors. The staff was friendly and kind, the room was clean, and with Westin beach and amenity access, we had everything we needed and more.

    Over priced

For a plave NOT on the beach, price per night is well over done. Yes the new breakfast area is a bargin. Not sure if we are allowed to share the Westin beach, so I just get a towel from (housekeeping lady) the place next door (south of Westin) and use their beach. I have stayed several years at Sunshine, buy just got over priced. I know the main reason, TAXES, GOVERMENT NEEDS TO KNOCK IT OFF with 25% taxes, and you think TRUMP is out of line for charging China 25% for import, well what Cayman is doing it the same thing.

    Nice

This place is safe and family friendly. Location is good across street from beach. Rooms pretty clean. Bf is lacking, but it had pancakes hard boiled eggs and cerial. Coffee juice tea. Pool is small. We got a kitchen so milk bread spaghetti, noodle and we can do a simple family meal. Grocery is a couple blocks away. There are several places too eat. The one at hotel was good for any meal bf, lunch, dinner.

    Great Stay!

From the time we contacted reservations Pauline handled everything for us expertly and had us super excited about our upcoming stay. We arrived at approximately 1pm, our room was not ready, which was fine because checkin wasnt until 3pm so we went to lunch and came back around 2:30 and our room was ready. We were on the 3rd floor and our room was spacious and clean. We had an infant with us and the pack n play looked to be brand new which was also nice. The staff was very helpful and always greeted us with warm smiles. We spent most of our time at the beach at the sister property and touring the island so we weren't in the room much but for the time we spent there it met our expectations. My kids loved the breakfast. They usually had pancakes, pastries, cereals, and assorted juices, fruit, and yogurt. My favorite was the banana bread. Definitely the best value on the island and we will be back.
