Great stay!

Just got back from a week at the resort. Had a great stay. We bought the Altitude upgrade package and we found it was worthwhile. This was our best Mexico experience so far. The beach is great, although we noted that the previous TripAdvisor posts (yes this is how we pick our trips, and reviews are our way of giving back to the community) had mentioned that a lack of beach chairs were an issue, the management obviously read feedback here and were on it. Lots of chairs, the challenge is that as a side effect of the limitless pool towel policy, guests were claiming too many beach chairs then not showing up. Staff were good about getting this sorted. Food was great. We did not visit the buffets, breakfast excepted, so we cannot offer feedback there. The a la carte restaurants were fantastic. We did the Asian restaurant 4 times, the sushi being comparable to Victoria, which is a very high standard.

Could be a 4star with some tweaking

Just returned from a “ladies trip” for a week. This is a a very good resort especially if you are coming from a very busy work/home life and want a completely low key relaxing recharging experience. The wine is awful. The G&T perfect. The buffet was great for breakfast and lunch but the dinner options were generally lacking in buffet and all restaurants - positive: no reservations required. We had two rooms in the main building on the 7th floor and rooms were awesome and very clean (we did pay for the upgrade) - beds and pillows very comfortable. While we were not looking for an all night party it would have been nice to have a bar or disco to go to (by evening 3 or 4 when you are feeling recharged) ...there is no night entertainment worth mentioning. Kids are permitted in all the pools and this was also a reason I dropped the rating to 3 - there is a huge kids pool and no reason for the kiddies to be in the infinity pool with swim up bar. The wifi, while included, does not work on beach and is spotty throughout the rest of the resort especially as the resort became busier closer to Easter. I’m a bit of a coffee snob and the double shots of espresso from the coffee cafe were great. Only 25 minutes from airport- that’s nice. Overall good resort to recharge and “reflect” - we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful Stay at Reflect Krystal Grand

Husband and myself stayed at this resort from April 7 to the 17th. Overall, had a great stay. Most Staff were wonderful, kind, and good service. We were celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary. We told them, but didn't get any special treatment. Some couples did... The pools were all lovely, but need a few minor repairs (tiles missing, stained spots). We are early risers so had no issues getting prime location. Some folks got up late morning and wondered why they couldn't get chairs with umbrella's, well thats how it goes. Late risers will not get prime locations. LOL. The Beach was Beautiful nice views, great beach walks. The ocean is a bit rough and you cannot see the bottom (mucky like sand, dark water). Didn't like that too much, but, we loved it anyway. We don't mind vendors and there are some. But they were not pushy. The paved walking areas outside as well building stairs require cleaning. We had a king tropical pool view in building 3, 6th floor, no issues with room, other than not much storage. Pillows SUCKED! The Sky Lounge was not as nice as we expected. Needed cleaning; sometimes just too windy. But views were amazing. Liquor choices not great anywhere on the resort. We would not say the resort had Premium liquor, just ok drinks. We ended up buying a few bottles and making our own drinks. The Wine was terrible. Our favorite restaurant was the the Grill beside the adult pool. Very good customer service, clean and they tried hard to please. Highly recommend trying the Ceviche appetizer, fish salsa, was yummy. The soup of the day, also yummy. We ate there almost every day for Lunch!! The other restaurants were not great, hit and a miss. The Asian was ok, however gave me cramps after eating. The menu selection at all the restaurants was not great. The Italian was only open twice during our stay, this is an adult restaurant. My meals were just ok. One of my meals I couldn't even eat. This can be normal at all inclusive's. We went to the resort next to Krystal a few times. Called Flamingo's for a few drinks and pizza. Was very good. A few evenings they had live music at the Sky Lounge for adults, we had lots of fun, danced and met lovely people. They didn't play late (maybe from 7pm to 9pm, that was disappointing as you are just starting to dance, meet people and have fun, then its over. We went into old Puerto Vallarta one day, had a great time. Had Lunch at Barcelona Tapas. The restaurant was up high in the city and the views, food and service were amazing. Highly recommend trying this experience. They made the best food and drinks. We will go back to Nuevo area, however would prefer to get a condo and make our own food and drinks. Also you can eat at lots of places outside the resort very reasonable. can walk, or cabs are cheap and the food is amazing at the local restaurants. All in all we had a great vacation!

Ok but not great

This is a family resort that did not live up to my expectations. It has apparently changed owners and is being run on a tighter budget. The juices were were not freshly squeezed fruits like at most all inclusive I’ve been to in Mexico, the service was poor, we had many separate staff try to sell us on tours and packages and we were daily being asked to come to the selling breakfast “just for an hour” to get all sorts of free deals. (Luckily we were warned about the hard sell for time share/condo sales and long duration) Food was okay, but not upscale. Ex. Guacamole was difficult to find...often a watered down version of avocado “sauce” was offered. The kids programming was limited since the children’s area with small pool and a bit of containment was under renovation, so that did not help us. Entertainment was amateurish, often using guests for karaoke or children’s talent show, etc. except for two nights which featured a one hour live band and a traditional dance troupe. Such poor quality is not usual for all inclusive. The outdoor venue for these shows was very poor since there is no staging area, just a patio at the bottom of main stairway and then audience is separated from that in a two row deep strip behind a pond. Avoid lower number rooms in main wing because there are huge loud fans running outside the door to rooms and it is loud! Ex. 4201 to 4206. 4 means main wing, 2 is second floor, 01 to 06 too close to fans. As you go higher to 9th floor the sound lessons, but ... Bright lights: Vanessa did her utmost to keep adults and children happy running pool aerobics and dance classes and the like. The family pool was huge and had a shallow end all around the edge for lots of safe play and ease of access for all ages. All rooms in the main wing back onto the open courtyard with the pool and some have ocean views. Nice.

Great all inclusive resort Nuevo Vallarta

This was an amazing all inclusive resort. The event coordinators Jonathan and Vanessa were fantastic! They did an amazing job of making guest feel welcome and encouraging them to participate in the activities. Rooms were nice and food was good. Carlos and Roberto took excellent care of us each day at the pool. Great deal for price.
