Jul 30, 2025If you’re coming while the hotel is under construction consider going elsewhere.
The hotel is under construction and they overbooked the hotel creating havoc for everyone we have met throughout our stay. My family and I booked four rooms and met up with another group of friends. All of us staying at the Stellaris. We have been coming here for years and are Marriott members. I am so disappointed in how this hotel is handling themselves during this renovation process. None of us were informed of the construction and upon arrival the reservations were messed up. Several of my family members and friends had double rooms booked for family of fours only to be placed in a king sized room with a cot. This is unacceptable. A reservation is a reservation and should be honored. My elderly mom was placed in a room in the construction area and is suffering some serious headaches from the ongoing construction. Although the hotel has given some compensation these rooms should not be sold. They are unacceptable living conditions for a week and a $300 compensation is simply not enough. If you are staying here in the upcoming weeks and have time to switch hotels I would consider you doing so. The headaches our group has had to deal with are just not acceptable.

Jul 29, 2025Loyal Guests Let Down Two Years in a Row
We’ve been coming to the Aruba Marriott Resort for years—7 visits since 2018—but we won’t be returning. For the second year in a row, the hotel failed to honor our group reservation (5 double-bed rooms booked almost a year in advance). Only 3 were available, 2 were incorrect, and they were scattered across the property. In both 2024 and 2025, we had to argue with management and waste vacation time fixing their mistakes. Even getting a partial resort credit ($250 per affected room) took over an hour of pushing, and they even tried to reduce it at the last minute. The hotel is also under construction—something they didn’t disclose. Rooms have declined in quality (musty carpets, thinner towels, smaller drinks), despite being nearly $1,000 per night. This used to be our go-to resort, but changes in management have clearly affected operations and service quality. Two years of mismanaged bookings, lackluster resolutions, and declining amenities have ended our loyalty. Consider other options before booking here.

We recently spent 10 nights at the Aruba Marriott Resort celebrating our 50th anniv. & it was excellent... The rooms were recently updated & were fantastic .... both pools were very clean & service was very good. What really impressed us was the service we received from Ludwig at the service desk .... he booked all our dinners at the hotel or in town & also assisted us on booking activities. He gets 5 stars .... We will definitely return to this hotel.

Disgrace to Marriott chain for sure. We reserved two queen beds and been told they were queen when checked in and only found out after measuring them that we were lied to. The room had this heavy mildew smell. During our stay, we did not have one decent food. Unfortunately the prices do not reflect the poor quality either. Our paid beach chairs were resold due to us not being present there for two hours (when i was challenged the staff, I have been told to read the small prints!). DO NOT BOOK this hotel. We were planning on purchasing Marriott Vacation Club and now I am completely against it.

Must stay
We have been here for 5 nights and I have nothing but good things to say. I was worried based on some negative reviews regarding construction and other various things. Don’t let those reviews deter you! Everyone here is so nice and accommodating. The construction noise is minimal and it’s only during the day. We were able to take a solid afternoon nap with no issue. There is music in the lobby at night but you are in Aruba so it’s expected! We reserved beach chairs in advance for a little extra but I also saw empty ones so thinking we would have been fine booking the complimentary ones. Resort is very clean and plenty of good food on site and within walking distance. Beautiful resort and beautiful island!
