Amazing place , highly recommended
Amazing experience and 10/10 for everything , highly recommended from all the aspects . A La Carte restaurants that we can highly recommend are : The Grill, ÎL Capricio, The Greek and Thali. We also like to mention that we spent our time mainly at Amber and we ate most of the time at Palmyra , high quality food and drinks

Amazing experience
Please ignore any negative reviews on this hotel. Me and my girlfriend stayed here from the start of October, we had an amazing time. The hotel is beautiful, well looked after and the staff are great. Could not fault our experience. Would highly recommend for anyone to visit.

Hotel full of potential, you can tell there is a lack of supervision and follow up with employees.
I went to this Hotel with my wife and kid and some friends as well, first experience at the Lobby, took us 1 hour and 15 minutes to check in because another group had an issue and everyone from front desk was listening to the argument instead of helping us. Good to say there were no other groups checking in at that time and they didn't assist us until they were done with that particular group. no information was provided to us at the front Lobby nor where we can find a map, where are the buffet, how many restaurants, NOTHING we had to freestyle when we got there. our cards didnt work so we had to go to another reception to get our cards activated (why wasnt this done prior?) I realized we had WI FI next day when my personal internet started having bad reception. when we get to the room, the phone didnt work, remote control didnt work, no water bottles nor beverages were in the little fridge and as mentioned before, I'm traveling with a kid that needs milk, as the phone was broken I had to walk to reception to ask for everything! the door leadint to out balcony had to be dragged HARD to be openned and I nearly broke the damn door as I closed it while outside and was stuck there until my wife helped me open it. as I just got to the hote, its 5:40pm Im hungry and want a snack ... went to the snack bar and surprise, there was a line of 50 people waiting as this wasnt a Buffet as almost all hotels I´ve been.. took them an hour and 15 mins to serve us 2 burguers and a hot dog with HORRENDOUS presentation. the little trains that take us to the lobby or the beach are confusing and almost all of them told us they can´t take us to where we needed to go... why ? I have no clue and spent 4 days there they would only give us a straight NO. I cannot leave this without the positives as there are positives to this journy, all personal from all bars are outstanding, all of them deserve a raise. food was really good, chef is doing something right! activities and shows were entertaining and live music was pleasant. is safe to say I wont ever return to your facilities in punta cana as the one in samana is way better even if is a smaller hotel and less stars, service is 4 times better.

Wonderful
Wonderful complex. We were initially in an unrenovated room which was terrible; the bath wouldn’t drain, the ceiling was coming through due to the water in the upstairs room and the toilet wouldn’t flush. we were then moved to the renovated room near the beach which was totally amazing! We were upgraded so could use all the hotels on the complex and eat in all the restaurants; food was fabulous and we didn’t even get to the a la cartes due to there being so much to choose from. The beach was divine and we also went to Saona island which was complete paradise. We will be back next year

Bahia Principe is nice but stay away from Grand
We stayed in the Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana resort for 9 nights from 10th - 19th October. Initially we were glad to be here as we have stayed here before. The check-in was seamless, staff polite and the lobby area and bars very clean. We were shown to our room by a lovely happy bell boy and we were set for our holiday. We noticed the air-con wasn't up to very much but it was cooler inside than outside. The Grand Punta Cana has two main pools and as you look to the beach there is one on the left and one on the right, we mainly used the left hand pool for the time we were at the Grand, we found the right hand pool pretty gross, it was murky, quite a bit of debris in the pool and a very unhappy bar tender. We lasted around 10 mins here before going back to the left side pool. The left hand pool was clean, plenty of space and a number of staff which provided good and speedy service, this only lasted a few days and we found that no matter how long we were stood at the bar the attractive ladies got most of the service from more than one bar staff, because of this our tips went down which then meant even less service. The buffet service at the Grand wasn't very good either, the food was generally cold and same and we struggled to find something palatable. We had enough of the buffet/service/pools at the Grand by day 3 and upgraded to the AquaMarine resort. This was 1000% better, the pools were cleaner, the service was far better, the lobby area was faultless as were the staff, nicer room with ice-cold air-con. This also came with additional al-la-carte slots so we used them every night - More on restaurants later. The buffet options were fantastic and we found something tasty every visit. The restaurants were very hit and miss. I would very much recommend :- El Olivio - Fantastic beef-steaks and a very nice bottle of red, smellier was great and also humorous. The waiting staff were also very good M.E.A.T - Very good steak and good red wine to purchase, staff great, meat cooked to perfection, nice and cool inside and good experience. MAIKO - Good Japanese restaurant but we ended up in the show table and it was far too hot... We struggled with the temperature here and then add the cooking plates and it's just way too hot, even the chef struggled. Unfortunately , that was the end of the recommendations. Restaurants to avoid. Fish Market - Very slow service despite being empty, food was stone cold when arrived so we sent it back, the fix for this was to warm it up in what looks like a pizza oven. Not being one to eat re-heated prawns/shell fish we left the whole meal Thali - Badged as an asian restaurant, however, this was nothing like it. I don't know how this was pitched as an asian restaurant, I couldn't taste and indian spices at all. The naan bread wasn't naan, it was a pizza base with garlic butter on and was horrible. One last thing to mention was the mozzie's, they were relentless. The first night I got bitten around 10 - 15 times despite being fully covered in 'jungle-juice'. My wife got bitten around 40 - 50 times in a single evening. We switched to the local bug repellent and although better you'd still get bitten if you missed a bit so you had to smother yourself in it. We noticed that other resorts (Fantasia) were smoking the mozzie bushes and wondered why they didn't do the whole resort. All in all the Bahia Principe is a good place to stat but not the Grand area. I would recommend upgrading to AquaMarine or Ambar for a more pleasant experience.
