After being one of my fav family resorts back in the early 2000s, I was thoroughly disappointed with my visit last year, however I took a chance and revisited the resort last weekend. I was pleasantly surprised. Aside from the gate security telling us nonsense the desk staff were lovely especially Darren (I think)...our 2 rooms on the beach front had been renovated, retiled bathrooms, comfortable beds, nice bed frames and decor, simple but clean. Dining was basic but much improved from my last trip as with the bar servings, this time they offered most drinks on the menu and no shortagd of cups or cutlery. The grounds have always been beautifully maintained. Though they seem to have a roach issue around the drains ...tried not to look. I sense an effort to restore this unique resort to it's original status, lots of renovations in progress. The potential is still there ... Let's see what happens.

Never been treated so badly!!
Arrived back from a 2 week supposedly dream holiday, my advice would be don`t go unless you wont to waste your hard earned money. If you want to be stoned, lose weight and be treated by staff horribly (rude, hostile and discriminated against) because you have a TUI wristband, then go by all means. Don`t bother talking to the TUI rep as she is just as bad. Offered a £100 compensation - total insult we will never travel with TUI again!!!!

Great rustic hotel with true Jamaican vibes
Lovely rustic cottages in an idealic laid back setting . Showers a bit temperamental but who cares with the weather so hot ! Fantastic choice of food with lots of carribean dishes on the menu daily. Dishes replaced fairly quickly once empty. I am vegetarian and no problem with getting a decent meal every day. We were a group of 12 and a table was set up every evening for us together. Staff all very friendly and entertainment throughout the day from quizzes, bingo, games, to excellent evening shows. Water sports great fun for the family too. Beach cleaned daily of seaweed. All coves had rocky areas so need water shoes or swim past. Swimming pool not huge but very quiet most of the time. Also a seperate adults only pool. One weekend was very very busy with locals who joined in the activities and made it fun...plenty of food for all. This gem of a hotel has been bought by a chain who are upgrading facilities..expect the prices to go up no doubt. If you want a true Jamaican experience this hotel ticks all the boxes.

I spent three days with my family and the experience was very good
It was a wonderful experience. The members of staff were wonderful and the food was good. The ground was clean and well-manicured.

Great location , terrible staff and terrible food A real shame.
When we arrived we were literally blown away by the location of our hut/ room . Right on the beach. But unfortunately that was as good as it got - the location. The room was old tired and a little dirty … poor quality in general. The second day there we were given a new beach hut room and this was a little better , again right on the beach a truly beautiful location. But , sadly we would not return here . For two reasons…. Firstly the staff were very unfriendly…. The young guys in the bars would almost scowl as you approached the bar … awful customer service…. The female waitresses were no better until you gave them a tip , then they became a little bit more friendly. I have never experienced such poor customer service in my life. The food was terrible and I like food from all around the world and usually eat just about anything. But amongst other strange offerings curried fish at breakfast time? No thanks. So we would not return here which is a shame as it is a wonderful location…. They really need to sort themselves out if they are to succeed in the future.
