Beautiful Grounds/Great Food!
Here’s the pros and cons of this place. Beautiful grounds, fabulous heated pools overlooking the ocean, floating mats for your use at preferred adult pool and wait staff deliver drinks right to you in the pool! Absolutely loved the hammocks over the pool, looking out over the ocean. We were always able to find beach and pool chairs. Fresh pool towels readily available. Unfortunately the beach was lacking due to coral and waves eating away some of the shoreline, however we did swim/float daily on the preferred side where there is no coral! Staff was amazing, hard working and aimed to please but beware of the Vacation Club scouters….they claim this is not a time share but we got suckered into the 2 hour presentation with 8 different people trying to sell these packages to us. This was very disappointing as we came to upgrade our room after the first night (balcony was a cement barrier so we could not sit on it to enjoy the garden view, headboard absolutely in need of cleaning and refinishing) and we were given a ‘deal’ on the upgrade if we sat through the time share presentation that went on for much too long. We watched a couple shows that were actually pretty good, and I enjoyed the extra activities like painting, macrame and bracelet making. The preferred side rooms were significantly nicer, bigger, cleaner and with better views but of course at a higher cost. I was disappointed as we were made to think that the preferred side was adults only but it was only the pool. Kids were allowed on the beach, in the rooms and one specialty restaurant on the preferred side. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation as we always do. Lots of positives about this place with a few things they could definitely work on. Food was fantastic, plentiful and a great variety however the wait time at all the restaurants was longer than we are used to eating up valuable vacation time! They absolutely need to rethink how they take reservations for the Japanese cooking experience restaurant as we waited in a long line in the middle of the day, for over half hour 2 days in a row to not get a table. Again, these waits add up to wasted vacation time. A very positive note was the spa which we thoroughly enjoyed including the deal with 2 days of the water circuit. The spa is very expensive but trust me, keep asking as there are hidden deals!

Phenomenal views & Staff
This resort was truly beautiful, with a great beach and phenomenal service. Alejandra at the pool bar is amazing and can do it all. She was such a pleasure to see everyday! Also, Alford who was the runner at the beach was fantastic! He was extremely efficient & fun! The pool was very cold while we were there but that didn’t cause us any issues. My only complaint is the reservation system in place to reserve a teppanyaki table. It’s a dated system of waiting in line for an hour, then only being told they are full within 5 minutes. The preferred section gets to reserve at anytime and it does leave minimal space for the rest of the resort. This could be done on the app like anything else for convenience, rather than taking time out of vacation to stand in line to be told “sorry, it’s full”. All in all, this is our first Dreams resort, but nothing anymore spectacular than the other dozens of resorts we’ve been too. I would recommend to others.

Beautiful facilities, bad beach and not great service.
I went with my parents, siblings, and neices for a family vacation in December 2024. The facilities and rooms were very nice, the events and staff were great, but the staff service, food, and the condition of the beach were truly sub par. I believe in always asking staff for requests kindly and with appreciation, and no matter how I asked 8/10 times I was met with a scowl, no can dos, and no problem solving whatsoever. There were a few cheerful and helpful staff, but it was the exception, not the norm. The food was not to my expectation. My favorite meal of the trip was when we went to a restaurant outside the resort, and the wait staff at the resort were 7/10 times visibly overwhelmed, in a bad mood, and unhelpful. The first night we went to dinner, it took the restaurant an hour to bring out our first course and another hour after that to bring out our second course, which was cold for all of us when it reached us. We were there for 3.5 hours, and watched as families who had gotten there after us ate and left. We won't be returning.

We’ll be back! Can’t wait!
Our second trip to this resort, we visited it in 2022. We felt this trip was actually better than the first visit, though we really enjoyed both trips. We stayed in building 8 on the preferred side. I would highly recommend upgrading to preferred as access to the preferred pool and ala carte breakfast at Mercure alone make the upgrade worth it. Our room was nice, if not extravagant. Let’s face it, we’re in the room to sleep ;) . We had a king preferred ocean view suite. We tried and enjoyed all the restaurants. Mercure and Spice were our favourites. Miguel was our very entertaining teppanyaki chef! The fish tacos at the preferred pool grill were adored by my husband. The staff at this resort were top notch, hard workers and always cheerful and helpful! A few stand-outs were Cecelia, Mercure’s breakfast hostess (she is a doll!). Eider at the preferred pool was amazing and really made our stay fun! We were really pleased to see Yuri at the preferred lounge who was (and still is!) a favourite of ours on our first stay here. I see some critical reviews about this place that leave me puzzled…we never wanted for anything on this trip and the staff at this resort are phenomenal. We have stayed at many resorts in the Caribbean. For the money there is superb value here! I think your holiday will really depend on your attitude. Come here and let the staff pamper you but please realize you aren’t their only guest!
