Lovely staff, Nice Bars and Restaurants but too many issues throughout stay.
This hotel is too warm as there is no air conditioning in the Rendezvous lobby bar it’s constantly too warm. They know this from all the complaints on trip advisor but take no notice to resolve it. Rooms furniture outdated and scratched. The room we had an interconnecting door I had to report to 6 different people to come and lock it as it was left unlocked and next door was other guests. After reporting it they couldn’t lock it so decided to drill screws loosely in to the frame. This is meant to be a Five star luxury hotel.. No robes or slippers in either mine or my mother’s room so had to request. TUI Booking had this listed as standard in rooms. When the robes arrived (still no slippers) the robes had no belts. Towels in room badly frayed (see photos) No clean towels replaced when taken out maid was Graciela on this day. I requested hand towels and got a response on the app it had been seen to. It hadn’t and it’s 4 days now since..no hand towels still. Given up with the app for faults as it’s useless. No turn down service at all with my 11 night stay. The hand rail on the balcony is completely loose and danger hazard. (See photos) The juice bar was ok but NEVER in 11 days had anything in stock off the menu I wanted juice wise I was constantly persuaded to have ‘Green Juice’ as they could not be bothered to do anything else. The place is an absolute joke unless you want a make your own smoothie don’t bother. Waste of time having a menu if you can’t supply carrots or beetroot to make health juices. Have a green juice by all means it’s all the sodding offer. Coffee shop staff very friendly only decent place worth using in a morning. Good selection of coffee hot and cold. Also had small pastries available all day. The hotel bars had a good selection of alcoholic beverages on the all inclusive. Across all bars Rendezvous, sports, pool and restaurants. Branded drinks as standard on AI package. Some ‘Top shelf’ brands are privilege guest only. I did see daily that the three water dispensers on top of the counter in Rendezvous that contain fruit slices are never cleaned. The fruit from the previous day is left inside these then just topped up with fresh water from the water bottle water dispenser. I’ve been drinking from the pineapple one and had bad stomach cramps last few days. I’m putting it down to this. The dispenser on the front on the holders I never saw cleaned or wiped. Food in restaurants was to a good standard. Bacon constantly running out in a morning in buffet World Cafe restaurant. The Mexican al la carte had fantastic service and food was lovely. The Steakhouse service was sloppy. We didn’t get wine refilled so got to the point of walking to the bar ourselves mid services to get more. The food was ok but nothing worth raving about. The Asian had a good selection of food. Enjoyed trying foods we haven’t had before. The Italian was very nice but busy so felt slightly rushed. Food selection again good. Sports bar was friendly but small with air conditioning. Few tvs with international sports on. No children after 10pm as it turns in to a disco until 1am. Saturday 28th September a wedding party decided to crash the sports bar assuming they could take over with their own boombox. Very selfish group of people no respect for others. It’s your wedding day book a private room and don’t be cheap! Unfortunately us and other guests had to put up with this until someone had them removed due to the amount of them 30+. The hotel just turns a blind eye to this as security walked in twice and looked at them then just stood outside. Some 12 year old girl was doing the splits in the middle of the dancefloor after 10am amongst drunk adults. Very irresponsible behaviour allowing a minor to be in there after 10pm. This is meant to be a luxury hotel. The hotel has mainly thatched roofs in World Cafe restaurant and Lobby bar areas so anytime it reads heavy the hotel has towels and buckets everywhere trying to collect the rain. The world cafe buffet restaurant was closed at short notice due to the rain as the tables got wet and the meat cooking grill. This grounds around hotel where waterlogged badly. You end up wading through rain water. The hotels response to everything is “It’s a pleasure” mine is “It really hasn’t been a pleasure..book elsewhere”. Get ready below for the same generic response from the hotel saying sorry we haven’t met your expectations and improving next time you book with us. No chance of that ever happening again booking at a NOW/Dreams hotel brand. Again Book elsewhere you’ve been warned.

Very nice stay - would come back
First time in Mexico was a very pleasant experience at this hotel. Drawbacks - ice buckets in the room but no ice machines, pool towels not being immediately available to collect when heading down to the main pool around 10:00, smoke detector directly above the bed flashing during the night. I also didn’t think too much of the evening entertainment, the fire show and Fernando Keops were very good, the rest of the shows not so much. Positives - all the bar staff are very friendly and efficient with serving guests. Especially Marco at Barracuda, the definition of service with a smile with a lovely mango margarita to boot. Filiberto at the barefoot bar knows how to cook a delicious burger. The daily entertainment team (Mar, Omar, Sergio, Regina, Richi, Tony, Geral and Julio) were great. You can tell they really enjoy the activities they run and interacting with guests (even if they sometimes lose track of the score). The daily crazy game is always a barrel of laughs. The umbrella provided in the room is a very nice touch and was definitely needed and appreciated while I was here (storm Helene). Overall really enjoyed my stay and an experience like this definitely makes me want to return to Mexico and this hotel and/or try one of their sister hotels under the Dreams umbrella.

Worst ever
Don’t go to this resort! No night life at all!! No entertainment they had one thing each night for an hour which was just a singer The food was meh When they cleaned our rooms they would never put back the same amount of towels that were in there before and when we called for more we waited hours Some of the staff were very rude to us and our children Only David was excellent there This was our first trip to Mexico and we went with a big group and most of us will say we will never go back And don’t leave any expensive perfumes in your luggage unless you hide them because they were stolen out of our suitcase !! Even if it has a Lock

Very pleasant stay
Had a 5 night stay, travelled from the UK. Had booked through British Airways holidays and added transfers to the package. As we had a preferred club room, on arrival at reception we were taken through to the preferred club lounge where separate staff were there for preferred guests, and checked us in there. Then we were taken via buggy to our block. This was all pretty seamless. We had a junior king suite with sea view. The room was decent size, as was the balcony which included a tub (easily big enough for 2..). We were in block 6 which was at the far end and slightly at an angle to the beach, overlooking the wedding area. This was absolutely fine. The fridge was stocked with soft drinks, and some beers. There was also a complimentary bottle of vodka, although according to the preferred club details we got on arrival, this could be changed for rum or gin. We did ask on day 2 for this to be changed but it wasn't, not that we were really bothered as we drank at the restaurants and bars anyway. The room was very clean and had the standard amenities. The pool areas were good. The larger pool was busy but there was always space around at the time we visited. On the first day we had a couple of drinks from the swim up bar, and chilled on the beach, which on that day had very little sea grass on the shore. We used the preferred / adults pool on the last day which was more peaceful, and an attendant constantly going around taking drinks orders. My understanding is you could pre order one of the balinese beds the previous day with the pool staff, and you just needed to lay a towel down by 0900 the next morning to ensure it was yours for the day. At the main pool there was a charge for the beds. We ate at a few of the different options. First night, the Mexican restaurant. The food was very good, and we shared a bottle of white wine which was very acceptable. One note here, it was hard to actually find the restaurant.. there were signs for the world buffet, Mexican and Italian restaurant, but when we walked down there was no sign of the Mexican.. on asking inside the buffet, to get to the Mexican you had to walk through the buffet restaurant seating area then find the Mexican at the end. We went to the French one on the 3rd night at around 9pm, this was a mistake as the reception area (shared with the asian) was rammed with people waiting on tables, or complaining it was taking so long. You can turn up and get a buzzer to take away, but it all seemed a bit disorganised. We went the next night instead at 6pm (when it opens) and got straight in. The food was really good though and had a nice bottle of red. I feel it would be good if the hotel could sort out some sort of pre booking system as the restaurant reception areas just seemed a bit stressful at times.. On our last night, we wanted to try the asian. We turned up knowing we would have to wait for a table, got our buzzer then headed to the preferred club lounge for some drinks while we waited. After an hour the buzzer went off, so we headed to the restaurant. We were told that there wasn't any tables in the standard restaurant, BUT.... we could be put at one of the teppenyaki tables and be part of one of the "shows" with a set menu without any charge (usually extra), so we agreed and joined others sat around the table. This was actually a really good experience and the food was great! On the documentation, it stated that preferred guests could have breakfast at the French restaurant, but in reality it was at the new blue water grill. The food and service there was really good, and you are sat outside either overlooking the beach or under the roof. Sitting next to the beach was really nice but obv beware that if the sun is shining you'll need sunscreen while there, not something you might usually think about when going for breakfast. For lunch there was also the barefoot grill by the main pool, where you could order burgers / some other things, also various things out to help yourself too. I often made my own tacos with what was available, plus salad. The grill was moved inside the main area during bad weather. The world buffet is always available throughout the main meal times for all guests. We had lunch there once, it was fine. If you are preferred club, then the lounge has hot buffet options for breakfast, plus various bits for lunch and rest of the day. The bar in the centre seemed to have more premium drinks options (Havana club no7, malt whisky, drambuie, more tequilas etc) and when having a rum and coke, you definitely knew there was rum in it! The cocktails around the pools seemed pretty weak but that meant you could drink more of them without the worry of having too much too quick :). The lounge was also a good place to chill at any time, or while waiting for a table at a restaurant. We didn't attend any of the entertainment, purely because we didn't plan around it so can't comment on any of that. We were there as hurricane Helene was developing close by, so had two days of breezy rain, and we witnessed the entertainment staff interacting with the guests so they were actively trying to do things. I even got a text message from the hotel advising of the potential hurricane situation. We organised a day out ourselves (I use Viator), which was one one of the catamaran trips departing from just north of Cancun town. This included snorkelling just offshore, then continue to Isla Mujeres with food and drinks on board and a couple of hours on the island. We looked at various different trip options but some had a lot of negative reviews, so chose the one that is done with Cancun Adventures. Will write separate review of that, but it was a great day out and prob worth the extra money over some of the cheaper trips. There are various companies staff at the hotel to organise excursions / transfers if required. Overall, we were very happy with our stay at Dreams Sapphire and would happily go again. We were on more of a couple chill out break so didn't need to do much interaction with the staff, other than at the restaurants and bars, but everyone was very pleasant. Ideally a longer stay would have been better with one or two more excursions, but we definitely felt relaxed, even with an early stage hurricane passing by!

Amazing Service and Lots of Fun
Overall experience was great. The Facility was amazing with a huge pool and nice section of beach. We had an amazing time. The Staff is very kind and friendly and I truly enjoy going to Dreams Resorts. I would go back again anytime and have told many people about our experience already.
