5* location, 3* experience
Went with our family and stayed in a suite. Overall the location and many of the amenities were lovely. Very swimmable and clear black sand beaches great for little children and right by the pool area. Kids club was fantastic with super activities, a nice clean and updated space, and caring staff- my kids couldn’t wait to go back every day. There were a few major gaps though that weren’t up to fs standards. One was the room- it smelled horribly of bug spray and mold and the buildings overall are all very dated and due for updates- it was uncomfortable for us to stay in the room for long. Service and staff was average at best- very slow and hard to find people to help- no one cleaned the pool and beach chairs towards the afternoon when people left and it was often impossible to find a seat or service anywhere. The pool and splash pad need some major help- mold around the perimeters, uneven floors, generally very dated and in need of repair. The adults pool seemed fine. The resort should offer clear beach bags like they do at the Anguilla location. Loved the monkey tour and the coconut experience- those are musts. Quality of tennis area is also high. I would probably not recommend this property as it is for the price and experience expectations.

Amazing
This is a very nice property, the resort and all amenities are amazing but what truly sets this place apart is the staff. I’ve never seen a more polite or caring staff!! Food, pools and rooms are all of high quality. Golf course needs a little TLC (layout is amazing but not in the best condition).

Corporate groups were an inconvenience for an otherwise lovely resort
We stayed here the last week in April for an anniversary trip for my husband and I, paying very premium rates. I tend to favor hotels that are more intimate and don’t cater to corporate groups. I was shocked to find out upon arrival that FS Nevis is a hotel that does a lot of corporate business during the high season like we were in. It’s 2 planes and a boat to get to so not easy and not a big conference hotel. But i guess it is? If I had known this I might not have went. The week we were there over 90% of the hotel was with an insurance group and it was us and a few other families at most not with that company. The large group affected us in 3 ways: * Most nights for dinner only 1 restaurant was available to eat, the others closed or being taken over by the group. Huge bummer. When in those restaurants we were sometimes the only people eating so it felt weird. At breakfast it was all corporate people with badges hustling and bustling and I felt I was at a work conference and not a relaxing resort. * We could not do excursions (either sunset sail or a snorkeling trip) because FS requires 6 minimum and the hotel was essentially empty of leisure travelers. *When the group members were poolside, it changed the dynamic. The clientele who can afford a FS is different than those staying for free and they treated it like a work party and not a luxury stay. One guy was smoking a cigar despite it being a non-smoking hotel, and packs of coworkers hung out in the pool drinking and cheering. *The adult pool was closed for one day for said group, and another day was not usable due to the workers setting up for the event the next day. I found out later that from February-June the FS Nevis is mostly filled with groups, so if you plan to go during that time, buyer beware. For the high prices we were paying I don’t want to be in convinced by a corporate takeover, and in some cases we were. With that said, here is how I would rate the rest of the property and stay: Arrivals: B FS has to down to a science to pick you up at St Kitts airport, drive you 20 mins to the boat and then whisk you to the dock where FS staff is waiting to take you directly to your room with luggage to follow. No need to go to front desk to check in. My only small gripe is we don’t check luggage, but had to wait 45 mins in the van for all the other families to come out to go to the dock. The vans wait for everyone so you can only go as fast as the slowest family. This was a bit annoying as I don’t love waiting after a long day of travel. Room: A We booked an ocean front but were upgraded to a HUGE suite bigger than my condo which was lovely and unexpected. Housekeeping: A Came early every day and did a fantastic job. Kudos to the team. Staff friendliness: A Everyone we encountered was super friendly, helpful, and got to know us by name. Each day the pool team greeted us and was always there when you needed something. Restaurants: B+ We are not big fish eaters so take our food review with a grain of salt since that is the majority of the menu in most restaurants. . Breakfast was great (ordering off the menu is cheaper than the buffet but portions are still huge), poolside lunches were also good. We liked Mango especially for the nice sea atmosphere. Esquilinia we were not a fan of, we just didn’t think the food was all that great. Pool/Beach: A They have 3 pools, 1 for adults, 2 that allow kids with one of those clearly catering to children. The pool temp was perfect. Refreshingly cool but not cold. Between the 3 pools and the Long Beach with chairs everywhere, they will not run out of space and you won’t have to fight for a chair anywhere. Activities: C- As mentioned, we couldn’t take advantage of much due to the groups. We did get a taxi with tour driver to take us around the island which was a good morning. You can grab that right at the front entrance. Spa: A I went twice and almost went a third time my massages were so good. The treatment rooms are in these little Caribbean huts dotted along the spa property and they have an outdoor cold plunge pool and a heated pool. Very relaxing to sit and stare at the mountain. Would I recommend the FS Nevis for a couples or family vacation? yes, but I would find out first if groups are there and what % of the occupancy they are.

Nevis fun!
The trip was amazing and the resort was classic and well kept, you do have to ask to get the things you need but once we did/ everything went smoothly. One employee that stood out and went above and beyond was Killion, thank you Killion for making our entire trip relaxing and Lux!!

Relaxation, but at a Cost
I want to preface this review with the fact that this is a highly resort company, and for that reason, my expectations were higher than usual because of the price tag and reputation the Four Seasons carries world wide. We utilized their boat transfer service to Nevis from St Kitts. The service was prompt picking us up by van from the airport, organizing our bags and safely getting us directly to the resort. We were offered water and various other beverages for the ride, despite it only being a quick ten minutes. Getting off the boat several staff members were awaiting our arrival to greet us with cool towels and smiles. By the time we exited the dock we were personally escorted to our rooms where our luggage had already been waiting. Overall the food at the resort was delicious. The on-site restaurants I ate at included Mango, On the Dune, Hamilton and Esquillina. We also ate our lunches poolside and stuck with the fish tacos multiple days, because it was just that good. The fish was fresh and not fried, making for the perfect poolside lunch. I also tried the chicken sandwich as well. The jerk chicken from Mango was probably the best jerk chicken I’ve ever had in my life. I also tried the steak from my husbands order and would have to say the chicken was still superior. As far as amenities if need be you can be brought throughout the resort via golf cart since it’s so huge, however, I enjoyed the walking through the beautiful gardens. They service the room at minimum once per day, and even offer turn down service in the evening. For any off resort excursions they assist with taxis and planning as well. For the unprepared or forgetful traveler like myself, the gift shop came in handy with items including basic toiletries and a pool float. They can also assist with mail, for anyone that enjoys sending a postcard. The pool area was always clean, and had a relaxing environment, even in the pool that was family friendly. This is a resort designed to promote a calm and relaxing vibe, with a bit of entertainment at night, without going to late that guests sleep is disturbed. The gym was better than expected and had a decent amount of weights and cardio equipment. Other amenities I noted but did not utilize included the spa, pickleball court, and golf course. From what I’ve heard there are a lot of the green monkeys hanging around the golf court. Although my experience was overall positive and extremely relaxing, the reason for the three stars comes from my personal bias of the Four Seasons reputation for above and beyond service. Everyone working at the resort was extremely friendly, but there came a point where it just did not make up for the slow service. Waiting for a drink at the bar, or a meal at the pool could take upwards of an hour, regardless of crowd size. It seems that, especially for anyone ordering food or drink poolside, their system is disorganized. They write down your room and order, but seem to quickly forget who ordered anything and what they ordered. They announce the food but don’t always say the room or name associated with the order, causing a lot of confusion, mix-ups or forgotten orders. The Four Seasons is not known for their bargain-stays, and I felt that I did not get what I paid for in terms of service. Everything is extremely overpriced. They charge you even for water in your room, yet at the pool or the gym you can actually get it for free. They also have free sunscreen and aloe by the pool but in the gift shop it’s grossly overpriced. It seems that they take advantage of your wallet when they can and unless you know what is actually free or not you will definitely overpay, since it’s not advertised.
