Good hotel, excellent food but lazy staff and to much upselling
We came for ten days and had a lovely time. The food is unbelievable and we ate at all the available Al-La cartes numerous times, our favourites been the Italian and the Grill. The App is rubbish for booking - it says no availability but if you go to guest relations at 9am or after, they can make all the bookings for you. The main pool in Grand Pall is large and spacious - plenty of sunbeds but beware of the silly ledge when getting in and out of the deep end. Sunbeds a bit uncomfy for me. Plenty of towels so no need to bring your own. Our room was large with a really comfortable bed and kept lovely and clean. Good air-con too and minibar although we only got two cans of lager towards the end so didn’t realise this was an option. Hemingway’s bar was the best bar and the staff here work hard., compared to anywhere else in this resort. Entertainment geared really toward Spanish speaking countries but we weren’t bothered too much. If you have children - this is the place to be. The kids club had foam parties and seemed really popular - not to mention an activity every afternoon in the main pool, paddle boats, inflatable jet skis, inflatable course etc. Onto the negatives, majority of the staff haven’t got a days graft in them. Lazy, a bit ignorant, and hiding in plain sight .. stood round in circles talking or on mobile phones. There is no management and they are allowed to do minimal and ignore the needs of the guests. Secondly the constant upselling, upon checking in do I want to upgrade to a pool view (the Tui room was garden or pool anyway so why do I want to pay more? “the minute after we checked in and were waiting to go to the room, a guy was trying to get us on a “property tour” having already read up and knowing it was the travel club I said no and he left. Every day at least twice did I want a massage. The vendors blocking walkways with tables selling goods and been a bit aggressive in their approach. Too much! The entertainment staff only spoke to people who spoke Spanish and then tried bothering me twice about writing a review on them. I said no but often saw people giving them their phones to write one. Wrong! This hotel could be absolutely fabulous if management step up and manage the staff. Sometimes I wasn’t sure who was on holiday, me or them. Don’t like to say too much but you will understand what I mean when you’re there! Granted they probably don’t paid a lot but you should still be doing the job you are paid to do! The one outstanding member of staff was Miguel in guest relations. Went above and beyond in our hour of need! This guy deserves a commendation. Overall tho we had a lovely time.

7 days in punta cana
Spent a week at grand palladium punta cana and it was only ok. Check in: arrived at 1 but could not access my room until 3. Which is little disappointing because they know what time families are arriving due yo providing transportation. Also can’t make any reservations until you are fully checked into the system (which happened around 7:pm) so I was unable to make dinner reservations for night 1. Room: was probably the best part a caught a glitch sale and was able to snag a loft family suit. Loved that there was space for everyone and privacy for me and husband. Room was cleaned daily so no complaints there. Food: 2/10 breakfast is only offered at the buffet and it was the same thing everyday. Nothing stood out or tasted very good. (If you are a non pork eater like half my family beware of breakfast) . Lunch and dinner buffet shared the same menu and also I rarely found anything appetizing. For lunch we ate at la uva or hemming way. La uva has great seasoned meat on the grill. And hemming has bar food that you can’t go wrong with. Dinner: MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS FOR THE WEEK ON DAY 1. We had reservations at el dorado - not as good as the one in mexico. Had a beef rib that was tender but taste less. They also served it with a whole baked potato and a squirt of sour cream when I asked for mashed potatoes. La aldalita- family favorite meat was seasoned and tender no complaints Sumtori-ate here twice first time great second time too salty . Bamboo -not a fan others might like it . Drinks- pool bar drinks were definitely watered down I was drinking all day and barely felt it. Other: There is a nice kids club with activities daily. Not a fan of people walking around the resort trying to up sell you on something everyday. Leave that in the lobby. Hotel is in the city so if you wanted to go out and explore you could. Also if they tell you we offer tour in the morning its a traveler club meeting 😉

Worst Vacation Ever!
Rude staff. Terrible food. Room keys deactivated multiple times. Water was cut off to our room. They tried to check new guest into our room in the middle of our trip. Charged us for a show that got cancelled and refused to refund us. maids busted into our room numerous times without even knocking. Maids tried to kick us out 3 hours before check out.

Sons wedding group .
All I can say is if you find fault with this resort there is no pleasing you so just stay home!!!BTW I have traveled extensively around the Caribbean for 40 years so I know a nice place and a bad place and take groups of over 25 people on scuba diving trips . This was our sons wedding so we didn't plan on diving but I connected with the dive shop there and I think this will be our next destination. The Dominican people are some of the friendliest I have ever met ,
