Good times seaweed bad
Nice hotel but the seaweed is terrible nothing the resort can do about it more than what they are doing. The smell is terrible it even came into my room just a bad time of the year to be there maybe next time it won’t be so bad otherwise great time just staying away from beach. Requested a certain building and room but didn’t get it and only 50% occupancy I thought since I’ve been there 40 times I thought they would do this no luck probably a first timer got it. The food was good entertainment was good and staff was wonderful shoutout to Roger and Freddy in lobby Elvira in sports bar Daniel in colonial lobby check in and check out fast thanks to all cart drivers and everyone else

Better Options Elsewhere
All the 5-Star reviews must be first timers to Mexico or an all-inclusive resort, because this was not even remotely worth the money and would never go back. Don't have time to get into the dozens of issues (dirty beach, dirty water, flies all over your food, gift shop smells like sewer backup, etc.), other than the last one where my daughter got sick after dinner on our last day and was up most of the night with vomiting, diarrhea and fever. It was then I realized our phone has no direct contact buttons and certainly no emergency button. When you dial 0 the "press 9 for English" doesn't work, so you have to listen to a long Spanish message I didn't understand, before you can press 0 again to get the operator. Amazingly that operator had no idea which room I was calling from, so if you're about to die, you will die unless someone is there to help. Then they wanted to charge me $175 to have their doctor "look at my daughter" prior to providing any anti-vomiting meds, so she wouldn't be throwing up on the plane ride back. So your food made her sick and you want to charge me to fix it? We originally thought she just got food poisoning, but I ended up with the same symptoms the very next day, followed by my son the day after. This is now obviously norovirus, and given it spreads through fecal-oral contamination, I'm guessing the flies we constantly saw on our food are the cause. You can't expect no flies, but the "outdoor buffet" was not only swarming with flies, and even birds would fly down and grab food out of the serving dishes. Even with the indoor lunch buffet, the doors were always wide open, so that was a problem as well. Worst all-inclusive vacation ever and the funniest part is they tried to sell me on their $40K Vacation Club, that I wouldn't even accept for free. To be fair the resort is beautiful and a few restaurants had great food and service, but certainly not enough to make up for the $3500 our vacation cost. That could have been 20+ great meals back home, without the expense and hassle of flying to Mexico, along with the 2-hour drive from Cancun's airport and norovirus.
