Multi-Cozumel visitor. Will not stay at Grand Park Royal again.
First off, I have been traveling to Cozumel since 2012. I’ve stayed at many different places so I would consider my review valuable. I would not stay at park royal again & here is why: -We paid an extra 118$ on top of our entire bill to choose our room. When we arrived that was not honored and we were given a different room. Even their paperwork had the room # we were supposed to have written on it. They disregarded our concern and did not refund or give us the room we had initially picked out on the website. -They immediately pressured us into a meeting/presentation to become a member. With multiple declines they persisted to the point that we gave in just to be done. We went through 4 people total with the answer that NO we don’t want to be a member before the hint was taken. -The room we received was HOT. Hope you like sleeping sweaty because 9th floor room 1907 is so uncomfortably hot. We had to sleep with a sheet or bare. We requested a fan which they granted. Didn’t help much, and the hot room pretty much ruined our trip. Awful sleep makes for a bad time. The room was clean, slightly outdated but that didn’t bother me. Just the temperature. The water was hot/cold but would randomly shut off during a shower. -Location: across from cruise ship docking so the view isn’t the best, but it’s not awful either Plan to pay 10$ at a minimum for a cab to go to town or 20$ to go to the airport. Grand Park is a way from town square. -Food & drinks: all inclusive allows multiple restaurant options. The food choice is limited and portions are small. The buffet is okay. Food from the restaurants was good. Food from the bars/sport stands is hamburger, hotdog, and chips with canned queso. -Amenities: facility mostly clean with an exception to the hot tubs. In my opinion I would not have stuck a toe in. Lots of debris floating and the water was FAR from clear. The water wasn’t even filled up to the filter system so I’m not sure how they were filtering/cycling.. -Adult area was very limited and still had children?? Decently clean but space & chairs were hard to come by. We found that we preferred the patio in the family area more, the area had a better ocean view. The ocean access area was so small considering the amount of people staying at the facility. The cove stays very stirred up and cloudy due to the amount of people so essentially it feels like you are swimming through a hot murky lake before crossing the rope and into the clear ocean.

I do not recommend based on the cost of the resort.
Pros- The staff was very friendly and helpful. Cons- No beach Terrible food No hot water in the room and sometimes our lights didn't work. A lot of areas on the resort were closed off due to construction.

Always a Favorite! Great Memories here.
This is one of our very favorite resorts to visit. Great snorkeling on the resort and scuba diving on the island. The activities team makes it fun for all, if you join in. The shows are always enjoyable. We remember so much of the staff and they remembered us. They are always so friendly. The food as a whole was not quite as good as I remember from our last trip, but we all found what we liked the best at each restaurant. One of the few locations with a sand volleyball court, which our whole group joins in twice a day, just don't dive as the sand isn't very thick. We met so many friends from other countries via playing volleyball. Great times!

Wouldnt reccomend
would not recommend. Food was not good. pools were very dirty. Did not refill coffee in the room after first day, even though we requested many times for coffee pods to be delivered to our room... we even went to the front desk to get coffee and they didn't have any or know where any was? ? Our air conditioning didnt work all week and it was SO HOT in our room. We asked for them to check it and they said they came to our room and serviced our rooms a/c unit while we were at the pool... Then we find out there are no individual a/c units in the room. Its one big unit for the whole hotel and the entire system was down. . . they just wanted us to believe they were trying to help us but not the case at all. Room service took over 3 hours to come. ordered it for dinner and we had to call 3 hours later to see if they remembered we even ordered it, when it came they did not even bring the drinks we ordered. i understand it is a resort but it was VERY loud for hours into the night. Food was not good. wanted good mexican food so bad but could not find that here. location is good. atm withdrawal costs 10$ PLUS $30 "commission" but the machine does not tell you about the 30$ commission until you have already done the transaction. i could go on... if you are a couple looking for a relaxing time and good food keep looking.... i hate to leave bad reviews but its not cheap to travel to these places so i would like to warn others like myself.

No vale la pena tener una membresía en estas condiciones
A bad experience. The staff had a terrible attitude, there were no spoons, one of the service staff answered my mom rudely for no reason, the food made us sick at least once, the buffet service had cold and poor quality food, and so on. It's not worth having a membership when the level of attention and quality of service is so low.
