  Fun experience

  Overall a nice experience! We stayed for about a week as a family of 4, and we enjoyed many aspects such as the shows (especially the rock one) and the restaurants. The service was also great! There were many staff members that stood out in particular. On the entertainment side, Mily was very fun, the kids enjoyed being around her. With the restaurants, the service Nadia (from Toro), Ivan (from Toro), Angeles (from Los Gallos) and Alejandro (from Umo) provided was wonderful. We also did the additional activity of the Music Lab, and the man who helped us, Oscar, was very friendly and supportive.

  Not the best Cabo experience

  Just returned from a 5-night stay at the Hard Rock – Los Cabos and while we were very appreciative for a family vacation, this is not a resort I would recommend to other families. PROS: Starting with the positives, for an all-inclusive hotel, the food was pretty darn good. We especially were impressed with the sushi at Zen and our dinner at Umo. We did not have issues getting into any restaurants with our party of 4 between the hours of 6-7 nightly. Our second positive was the pool wait staff. Santos, Alberto, Israel, and Joan were wonderful and took great care of us every day. We never had long waits or to look for service while at the pool. CONS: Unfortunately, our trip started off poorly with having to share a ride from the airport after booking private transportation with the hotel vacation planners. You are captive at that point, and without wasting hours of your vacation do not have time to argue with the transportation company. (note: they did refund us for this ride after the mistake). Check-in at the hotel is a joke; the fully staffed front desk appears incapable of moving people through the line without spending a minimum of 20 minutes typing in their computers. Don’t expect many smiles or any friendliness from the front desk staff either. They are expressionless and appear to hate their jobs. We had previously requested our room location online and yet were placed in a very separate ‘undesirable’ area of the hotel since they could not accommodate the request. While I do understand that sometimes these reservations must be moved, anyone with any bit of customer service know-how also understands that you can keep a customer happy with the right attitude and willingness to help them. Unfortunately, Adrian at the front desk could not have been more unhelpful, and frankly rude. Room was definitely worn for a relatively newish hotel and certainly wasn’t up to ‘very clean’ standards. Be forewarned that this resort caters to weddings and individual family guests are an afterthought. Extremely loud music from a cultural wedding went past the 10pm shut off and wedding guests were unruly and screaming up & down hallways. Would have been great if the front desk could have assisted but it required a minimum of 20 minutes of calling to get anyone to answer the phone (even when desk was staffed and no one was waiting in line). Not answering phones seemed to be a common issue. We also had trouble getting through for room service and using the app only provided limited options compared to what the menu was on the in-room ipad and could supposedly be ordered through the phone. Additionally the spa would never answer their phone and required a hike across the entire hotel to make an appointment at the desk there. We rented a cabana at the Lyric pool 2 days and adhered to all rules (6-8 people per cabana) & enjoyed our experience. However on the last two days of the week, a wedding party rented one cabana next to where our pool chairs were and proceeded to host a welcome party there for an extremely large gathering while LITERALLY surrounding us laying on our pool chairs. When I say literally, I mean I could reach out and touch them without moving from our seats. At last count before we gave up and left, there were 45 people trying to party in one small cabana, impeding the walkways and ruining the experience for other pool goers. Our pool staff was doing their best but then we saw hotel officials / security come down, they did not do a thing and rather just visited with the wedding guests and then left. And yet, hot tubs are strictly enforced for ages 16 and over. Such a disappointment when the weather is so incredibly poor in this location. While temps were in the low 70s for our stay, the wind was at least 25-35 mph daily making it so uncomfortable and cold. Beach was completely unusable for walking or enjoying the view because the sand was blowing with such force that it was painful. Locals told us this is common for the location of the Hard Rock so we certainly will never stay on this side again. In conclusion, typically the hardest thing for an all-inclusive hotel to get right is the food but in the case of the Hard Rock, food was what they did best. This is the first time staying at an all-inclusive in Mexico where we did not feel welcomed as guests. Front desk staff / vacation planners / management run a very inefficient and very unhappy organization. With the exception of pool staff, nobody seems happy to work there (and likely our high tipping made all the difference with the pool staff). We should have known before our trip when we could not reach anyone by phone and emails would go days without being returned, that customer service was low on the priority list for management of this hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to traveling families; you will get much more enjoyment at other resorts in the Cabo area.

  First trip to Cabo & the Hard Rock

  Considering my kids age 7&2, it’s not a kid friendly resort. My kids got bored and I had to find ways to distract them. April also seems like not a good time to go considering weather. For us it was very windy (I wanna say 30-40mph). Our butlers Chetan and Edson were great!! They really made accommodations feels more welcoming and helped us quickly with any issues. They were probably on le of the best highlights of the trip. Other than weather, I was disappointed in the ‘play ability’ of the pools. We only would be in a maximum of 5ft diameter but we weren’t allowed to throw toys. Seems odd. Also if your kids needs a float device bring it cause they don’t sell any at the gift shops. 5 restaurants, we prob only ate at 3. Both buffet breakfast are the same. Made it fairly easy with kids. At other resorts we will sometimes just get room service. Dinner room service was decent, timely too. The resort is also small so it’s easy to navigate. Wish there were more amenities for kids. Not till the end did i notice more activities for kids. There were always shows each day but they started @ 9. We stayed up for a couple but usually try to get the kids to bed right before 9.

  The Worst Experience Ever – I Will Not Be Returning

  I planned a weekend getaway for my friends and family, and from the beginning, I should’ve known something was off. The reservation process was a mess—nothing was correct, and I was told that all communication had to be done through email, which made everything more frustrating. When we arrived, one of our rooms wasn’t available, and we had to wait three hours just to check in. Eventually, they gave my sister a room that they usually use for timeshare showings—not what we paid for. Things only went downhill from there. One of our friends found urine stains and pubic hair on their sheets. Another room had a wet floor covered in hair, including in the outdoor tub. Completely disgusting. The restaurant? Get there by 5 PM or don’t expect to eat. It closes early, which forces you into room service—and the food tastes like it came from a concession stand. We paid for butler service and got zero help. To top it off, they overcharged us for something we didn’t even do, and at checkout, one of the employees had the nerve to yell at us for 30 minutes with no intention of resolving anything. The fact that this kind of behavior is acceptable is insane. But hey, they can keep the money—clearly, they need it more. Also, don’t expect sleep. They had seven weddings booked at once, tearing down tents and chairs between 2–4 AM, keeping everyone awake. I’ve been here three times before, but after this nightmare, I will never be back. Save your money and sanity. This place is not worth it.

  Memorable vacation!

  Room: large room, partial ocean view, nice bathrooms with fresh towels daily, comfortable beds and lots of pillows. Food: all great restaurants. Zen had the best freshly prepared sushi and sashimi. Enjoyed all the other restaurants too and all the waiters were very nice and accommodating. *Service: we were royally treated by CHETAN and EDSON. They handled our reservations to shows, restaurants, pool side cabanas, and even pickleball courts. That was the highlight to have them take care of whatever we needed. Appreciate their dedication to making our trip memorable. Always looked forward to running into them with their smiles and hugs. Extra: did the sail boat excursion where there was snorkeling, lunch, saw whales, and they put up the sails on the way back. That’s an experience I’ll be talking about for awhile. Had a facial, body massage and hydrotherapy. All were wonderful. Looking forward to going back.
