  Fantastic trip to the Royalton hideaway

  Or stay in the second week of May of 2025 was extremely enjoyable. The resort is beautiful. It's clean. Well kept our Butler Dennis was beyond compare the best Butler we've ever had and we've been to Dominican nine times now. Very attentive, exceptional and the way he contacts his clients and takes care of them on a day by day hour-by-hour basis. We love Dennis and hope that we would have him again if we ever have another Butler. Thank you so much! Royalton

  Decent experience

  The Hideaway is ok. I definitely would not come here without a butler. Lenny made all the difference in the world. I never worried about a thing. He was absolutely amazing and isn’t paid enough for what he does. The concierge works on commission, Why? Because his goal is to get you to go to a presentation where they try to get you to purchase a vacation package. Don’t buy an excursion from the people at the resort, book in your own. The food was really good, pleasantly surprised by that. Housekeeping doesn’t refill coffee regularly in room nor do the leave washcloths. I believe all Marriott hotels have a washcloth shortage. The resort is not adults only. There is one pool that is adults only. The Vibe team is the least interactive team for all the resorts I have been on. They came more alive on Thursday and Friday however activities planned on app, but they never came to fruition.

  A Wonderful Oasis!!!!!!

  Our Butler Denis was very attentive to our needs. He made sure that we were aware of all the events including excursion at the hotel and other services. While we were out on the Buggie excursion to our surprise Our Butler Denis helped coordinate an romantic atmosphere st our lodging! Through out our stay ,Denis was truly professional!! He's like family and we highly recommend Denis!!

  Great stay

  This hotel was fantastic! I had very high expectations of what this hotel would be like, and it delivered. We booked a diamond club swim up room for the hotel for 2 weeks. On arrival our bags were taken at the main hotel reception, and we were transported via golf buggy to the hideaway. The reception area in the hideaway isn’t very big and there were a few large groups that had also arrived meaning we weren’t able to sit down and had to wait an hour. There was however a great selection of named drinks in there so we could at least enjoy a drink whilst waiting. As we booked Diamond club, once checked in we met our butler Victor who showed us to our room, got us connected to the Wi-Fi, gave us an induction to the hotel, showed us around and asked where we’d like to go for food the following evening. Thanks to Victor we felt like we had a good understanding of the hotel and how everything worked. This continued throughout the holiday with Victor regularly being around the hideaway pool, making sure we didn’t have any requests/issues and ensuring our reservations were sorted for our evening meal. Thanks to Victor we had reservations at the times we wanted them every evening and ate a la carte every time we wanted to. The room was great, clean and the bed was comfortable. The room was cleaned twice a day, one main clean and then a turn down. It was great coming back to the room with a fresh bottle of water next to the bed. The cleaning was to a very high standard and the cleaning staff were very friendly. The pool area at the hideaway was great. There were always sunbeds available and if you couldn’t get two together the pool staff would ensure you did. The bar service was excellent, Juan and Rudi were always happy to see you, would have a laugh with you and made great cocktails. There were plenty of named drinks to choose from. Never really a queue for the bar either! There was waiter service around the pool where they would take your order and bring your drinks too you most of the time which was good. We did also try the swim up bar pool a couple of times and you were never left without a drink in your hand either because you would be at the swim up bar, or the waiter service was there as soon as you took your last sip. This pool was great for those up for a more outgoing holiday and was where they had the water volleyball. Ultimately, we were always drawn back to the hideaway though due to the more relaxed environment, but both were great. We also had a swim up room and whilst we didn’t use it much, it was great when the weather had taken a turn. Pool temperatures were always good during out stay. We didn’t use the beach often, but I can say after the Hard Rock, the Royalton had the best-looking beach on Bavaro in terms of the quality of the sun loungers, availability of sun loungers and cabanas. Also, this hotel had lots of lifeguards on the beach which were difficult to see at other hotels. This was one of the few hotels that didn’t really have much seaweed on the beach as they regularly cleared it. I was told by others the bar service on the beach was very good and they enjoyed their time. We did use the beach cabanas which were about 100 dollars, and they are very comfortable. That was a very relaxing day. I did find the drinks service to be quite slow, so it was easier just getting them yourself. Your supposed to get a meal brought to you but we didn’t so not sure what went wrong that day. The food at the hotel was excellent. For breakfast we went to the main buffet and there was always a huge selection. It took some self-discipline not to stack your plate with all the goodies. Strangely enough the only issue we did have at breakfast was there was always a spoon shortage, this reflected in other restaurants too. For lunch whilst we did once try the a la carte, we usually went to the food van which served burgers, hot dogs and fries. The food from here was always fresh and tasted great. There was an issue on the first few days were there was no fries, once I brought this to the attention of Felix, one of the managers at the hotel, it was resolved with a new frier by the next day. The evening meals we had were restaurant quality every night. The food quality was fantastic and tasted amazing. We really did feel spoiled with how well we ate every night! The service was often a little slower at the restaurants situated at the splash, but we still had a great time. The service at the Italian next to the Hideaway and Hunters was impeccable and resembled that of somewhere high class. We also went to the Sports bar a few times and the food was great for when we just wanted an easy night without getting dressed up. You were spoiled for choice with the menu in there! We did try the all-inclusive room service, but you would have to wait over 2 hours and the food was cold and over cooked. Whilst we didn’t get involved the daytime entertainment was very entertaining and they certainly have the right people doing the job. At night they had shows such as a circus and Michael Jackson. The Michael Jackson was surprisingly really good too! Other than very minor things, we have no complaints for this hotel and will be back next year. My recommendation if you stay here is to book Diamond club as we heard other struggled with reservations and mainly ate at the buffet.

  Great resort, service and beach

  The resort is beautiful. The beach is beautiful. The room was clean, service was great. Our butler Dennis was wonderful! He was helpful, kind and made the trip great. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing I was not a fan of was how close the chairs were on the beach. Some restaurants were better than others, but the food was good, drinks were good. I agree with others, there is always loud music at the pool. Sometimes a DJ, sometimes a loop of six songs. In Mexico, there was soft, tropical music by the pool. If you want that, this resort is not for you. And the beach is not private so the vendors are consistently trying to sell you something at the beach. If this would bother you, I would not go here. Overall, we loved this trip and resort!
