I surprised my wife with an anniversary trip and when we arrived our room had a banner on our door, chocolate strawberries, and white wine. Best customer service!!! We are interracial and lesbian and we were made to feel very welcomed. The weather wasn’t perfect since we went off season, but we had a BLAST. Ruby at the spa gave me the best massage of my life! She literally improved my posture and relieved my hip pain.

Great to be back again!
We had a great time! This was the first time back since it was secrets capri. Frennanda and Sohpia were awesome butlers and made sure each day we were having a good time. The pool waiters were so great! Is was not so busy while we were there and they made sure we always had a drink at the pool ... Julio, Martin and Alex were aways so happy to help us! .... Between room service, habatchi, italian and the theme nights there was pleanty of food ... Yes it is not a Secrets anymore but food was great and we still have more to try on future visits. We were in the oceanfront king roon (See photos) and the ocean view was so nice. The only drawback was that it rained a few days and that room did not have a cover for the patio so you could not use it while it was raining. I would recomment they add a little plastic roof so that you can use the patio in the rain ... maybe that will be there when we go back in December :) The Ferminator always kept the engery up from the entertainment staff! The coffee shop was a great place to visit for an after dinner drink! Night ends earlier after the shows or events in the sports bar ... but day drinking is more fun! So if you are looking for all night parties this may not be your vibe. If you like a small cozy adult all inclusive resort with some higher daytime energy this is where to go! Great for a 7-8 day trip! Oh and the freshly made emenadas at breakfast are ooh so yummy!

Great stay for a girl's trip
Visited this resort in mid June and while we could not sit on the beach because the large amounts of seaweed, it was a great stay. I am a travel agent and I arranged a group trip for 10 with 6 rooms , 3 of them king with swim up pools. The service was impeccable. Butler service for the king suite was impeccable! The rooms are large and the service for the standard rooms was great. The only comment is the schedule of the restaurants. Because it was a group trip we had an itinerary for events off property and wanted to partake of the Tempest restaurant but it was closed on our last night there. It was a great disappointment. But would highly recommend!!

I want to start by saying this resort is beautiful. The design and cleanliness of the rooms is great. The hospitality of the staff is truly magnificent. I can honestly say my rating would be significantly lower if it wasn’t for the staff. They are all so warm and welcoming and make every effort to remember your name. Valerie is an absolute gem and they are so lucky to have her as a member of their team. She is an absolute sweetheart. The location is meh. If you want to stay on the resort for the duration of your time then that’s fine. If you’re looking to travel off resort and spend time in Playa del Carmen it is pretty far and will be an expensive cab ride in to 5th avenue. The beach has the potential to be beautiful. Can’t say much about it due to the sargassum situation (completely out of the resorts control and in no way doesn’t review reflect that). The food and restaurants…they need so much improvement. I can honestly say I’ve stayed at so many other resorts in the area (Hilton PDC, Wyndham Alltra PDC, Riu Palace, Iberostar) and this place was the absolute worst for food. The buffet is so small (Wyndham Alltra is a similar size resort and the buffet was MUCH bigger) and if you have any sort of dietary restriction, good luck. The breakfast options were fine (kind of hard to not find something for breakfast) but every other meal….yikes. Even the a la carte restaurants were incredibly mediocre and most times I left annoyed and hungry. When I booked I understood it was a smaller resort which I would assume would work in my favour. Man oh man was I wrong. For the price point of this resort the food options fell incredibly short. I ate and got by but was never blown away or satisfied. I have worked in hospitality for almost 20 years. The staff is outstanding but the food is 1/5. Do not book here if cuisine and dining are a big part of your travel experience. I can say with absolute certainty I will never be back and I can only hope the Hyatt doesn’t ruin their takeover of the Hilton Playa del Carmen with their terrible food as that is something the Hilton was/is incredible for.

A solo retreat
It was an absolutely beautiful resort! The entire entertainment staff ( Dulce, Yunul, Sandra, Fermin, Arturo) were more than welcoming and their energy only added to the experience. The resort had a calm and intimate atmosphere. I will definitely be going back!
