Sep 11, 2025Another great stay at Iberostar Waves Cozumel
A wonderful time was had by my family at Iberostar. Mauricio gave a demonstration on guacamole making, then Star Friends Beatriz and Gerardo (Gerry) hosted a competition for guacamole making. I won with Texas Heat. Ana brought me drinks at the pool and bar, Caribbean Freeze was a favorite! We also played bingo, Mom won a hat, and took some archery lessons. The resort is beautifully maintained, the air conditioning in the room worked great, and they now have a few pool floats you can borrow if you didn't bring one.

Great place for a honeymoon
Had an absolute blast while being here, staff is super friendly and it’s the perfect place to relax and decompress. Ruufino hooked us up and we got to explore the island at a good price.

Better than expected
Super friendly place to stay. The individual buildings are a pleasant change from the usual endless corridor of hotel rooms. The entertainment is quite good and audience participation is encouraged. Lots of activities available such as, scuba diving, snorkeling, volleyball, archery etc. Food and drink are good and abundant. The staff are super friendly and helpful.

Wonderful experience at Iberostar Cozumel
We had a wonderful experience at Iberostar Cozumel! This was our second visit to the resort, and we are already planning to come back again. One of the things we truly appreciate is how much the resort cares for the environment, local wildlife, and plants. Iberostar does an excellent job keeping the old highway clean and free of trash, which makes it a beautiful route for guests who enjoy walking or running. They also do a great job keeping mosquitoes under control, which makes the stay even more pleasant. The staff is welcoming and genuinely friendly. We especially want to thank: Ms. Glendy – We first met her two years ago, and the moment we walked into the Cozumel buffet this time, she recognized us right away. She makes us feel at home with her warm smile, attentiveness, and efficiency. Mr. Alfonso Batalla – Always attentive, efficient, and dedicated to making guests feel well cared for. Thank you, Iberostar Cozumel, for another memorable stay. We can’t wait to return!

Aug 31, 2025Fun time at a beautiful resort
My fiancé and I just returned from a stay at Iberostar 8/25-8/29/25. Overall we had a great time. The pool was our main hanging spot, and Enrique and Raymundo at the swim-up bar made our stay. They showed the best time to all the guests including the daily cruise crews who would plow through like wrecking balls. We loved ambling around the grounds (which we found impossible to navigate, and the app was no help) and checking out the wildlife which are truly a highlight. My favorite part is how eco-focused the resort is. For pest control, they use a hawk, and the hawk handler takes his job very seriously and it’s so cool to see. There is zero disposable plastic anywhere on the resort. The beach is rocky which is a bummer, but the sand is white and ample, and the swing is lots of fun. The main downside was the food which is barely edible. But we appreciated always having several options available to fill our bellies at any time of day (especially burgers and hot dogs by the pool, which tells you something). The entertainment crew was also a highlight and a sheer delight - shout out to Alexis, Zoe, Gerardo, and the magicians whose names we didn’t catch for truly wowing us at night! Other memorable staff were Axel, Angel the waiter, Alex the theater bartender, the DJ (kept a low profile, didn’t catch his name lol), and Maria who whips up the best tacos by the pool. I will say the resort feels more family and activity-oriented rather than sexy and romantic, so maybe choose differently if that’s the vibe you seek, or if food is important. But for the value it was a tremendous experience that I would definitely recommend. Subtracting one star for the food, the fact that we sorta though the four pools or whatever meant actual separate pools and not sections of one big pool, and the fact that the app was useless when at a resort like this you really need access to basic info like a walking map. But props that they have an app I guess? Also, there was slight pressure to attend sales presentations, but easy to duck out if you’re polite but firm. Hard to balance that with actual useful recommendations for off-site excursions etc. though. Thank you Iberostar for welcoming us for a beautiful stay that we’ll remember for life!
