    Bad first day Experience

I was really disappointed with the resort. Our room wasn't ready till almost 5:00PM!! Information was not given out properly. they were to bring a bottle of champagne for the wait, we never received it till the night we were leaving, and they gave us rum. This was my 5th time in Montego Bay but first time staying here. I'll tell you the food was not good! The Jerk chicken wasn't made from scratch, it was grilled then you had curry Sause that you can por over it. I have never had jerk chicken like that when I went to other places. The rooms were great, and pool was very nice. Employees we came in contact with were very nice!! I will not be staying there again.

    Great family resort

This is a great resort stay. I visited Jamaica with my two daughters so we stayed at Iberostar Waves. The rooms were a bit dated but very clean, small fridge in room and very spacious, with a great ocean view. There were a few pros and cons to this property. Cons: The pool closes at 6pm.( I think that is a bit early.) No room service and no take out food from restaurant. ( I must say that I injured my knee while on vacation and my girls explained to the workers that I was in my room in pain and they were nice enough to allow they to bring me food. Pros: The customer service was EXCELLENT!! Our room wasn't ready but the young lady at the guest services desk was very nice and kept us updated on our room status plus we got a free upgrade due to the fact. ALL of the staff we encountered were SUPER friendly and actually made us feel like family. ( Ringo, Marco and Skinny) Just the customer service will make me return to the property alone. The Food!! We ate at the Japanese restaurant, Jamaican restaurant, the Italian and the buffet ALL had first class food that was hot and fresh with great quality. Overall this property is a must return. I highly recommend this property, especially for a family.

    Beware

I booked a trip for my family to celebrate my daughter’s 3rd birthday, with the main attraction being the kids water park. On the 2nd day of my trip, I asked the front desk for directions to the water park. As we got closer to the park, another family shared that the water park was closed for renovations. I returned to the front desk only to be told staff was unaware of renovations and I should check with the Guest Services. The woman at Guest Services shared the renovations started a week ago and she would share my concerns with management as a form of feedback. But there wasn’t anything else that could be done. I shared with the lady that I was still within my cancellation period when renovations begin and if this information was shared with me upon booking or as an update, we would have booked with another hotel. It’s ridiculous for such a manager attraction to be closed and guests or staff aren’t aware. I am disappointed in the lack of communication, accountability, and resolution.

Great staff, hotel could do with some improvements

We have just returned from a 10 night stay at Iberostar Rose Hall Beach. First of all, we were warmly welcomed by the reception staff, who gave us plenty of information. Something I will say though is that it would have been nice for this to have been written down/provided an information booklet with. Nonetheless, we were happy with our greeting. Our room was very clean upon arrival. Slightly outdated, if we’re being picky but overall, we were happy with our accommodation and housekeeping throughout our trip. The food perhaps let us down the most about the resort. There were a few restaurants to dine at but overall, we were not overly impressed with the food. One stand out, however, was the Japanese restaurant, which was probably the tastiest food we had at the resort. A real highlight of our trip was the entertainment staff. We’d like to especially mention Freshh, Skinny, Finez, Big Wayne, Stewy. They were very interactive, friendly, and keen to get guests involved with activities. We would also like to highlight the bar staff at the lobby and the waiters/waitresses, who were incredibly polite and attentive. Overall, we wouldn’t rate this a 4 star resort. However, this is of no fault of the staff.

    Save yourself the headache

I recently booked a three-day stay at this resort as a quick getaway to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Based on the online reviews, I decided to give it a try, hoping for a memorable and relaxing experience. Unfortunately, my stay has been anything but enjoyable. The experience started off on a positive note. Upon arrival, the front desk staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, which initially reassured me that I had made a good choice. However, the issues began the moment I entered our room. The air was filled with an overpowering smell of chemicals or paint, which immediately triggered an asthma attack. I had to use my emergency inhaler to stabilize my breathing—a distressing start to what was supposed to be a relaxing trip. I promptly called the front desk to report the issue. A gentleman answered the phone but didn’t speak a single word—not even to ask me to hold—leaving me frustrated and confused. Since I received no assistance over the phone, I decided to walk down to the front desk to address the issue in person. When I explained the situation, I was met with indifference. There was no apology or acknowledgment of the severity of what had occurred. While they did move us to another room, it felt like a downgrade rather than a resolution. The original room I booked offered a view of the pool and ocean from the fourth floor, which was one of the reasons I chose this resort. The new room, however, faced a wall—completely diminishing the experience and failing to meet the expectations set by my reservation. What’s most disappointing is the lack of empathy and effort to provide an adequate solution. No one took responsibility or made any attempt to compensate for the inconvenience, the health risk, or the overall dissatisfaction. This situation could have been handled with much more professionalism and care, which would have left me with a better impression of the resort. This was meant to be a special occasion, and I initially told my husband that this might be a great place to bring our family for a future vacation. However, this experience has left a bad impression, and I can confidently say I will not be returning. For anyone considering this resort, I strongly recommend doing thorough research and weighing other options before booking. My stay has been highly disappointing, and I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this resort to others.
