Jul 08, 2025Lovely Time at Marival Distinct
The Marival Distinct Residences were as lovely as the reviews mention! We were unsure if the reviews were all too good to be true, but this property was really wonderful! We went with our 2 children (5 and 8) for 5 nights. We typically choose larger resorts with endless buffets and an entertainment crew but decided to choose the quieter resort and have access to the next-door report, Emotions for the fun. It was a great choice! The timeshare tour was mentioned at check-in but they were very respectful of our desire to participate. Our room was so spacious, clean and felt like home right away. There are coolers of water in each hallway, so we just continued to fill our carafes and water bottles. The pools were perfect for the kids as our 8-year-old could swim independently on the deep side and our 5-year-old had a blast playing in the shallow section of the big pool too. The mornings had a mini buffet option along with the option to order off of the menu - lunch/dinner were only menu options but there was something always open throughout the day. Our fav area was the rooftop bar/restaurant. The sunset was spectacular, and the tapas are amazing! This area had the liveliest music and atmosphere. We enjoyed each meal thoroughly! We had 2 evenings of total downpours, but the hotel had umbrellas ready to go in the event you needed to walk through the rain. The beach was about a 5-minute walk through a very lush and beautiful garden. My kiddos had fun petting the few kitties we saw from time to time too. At the end of the path the gorgeous beach club welcomes you right in! The infinity pool is a bit deeper and we did not spend much time at that pool, but did enjoy the lawn chairs and long walks on the beach. Towles are readily available at the pools and beach. The ocean is shallow and lots of fun to play in! We were a bit hesitant with the many stingrays but never seemed to have an issue. The vendors are few and far between and not pushy. We spent one afternoon at Emotions and the kids had so much fun on the slides. The adults enjoyed the upbeat music and party atmosphere for the day too. The evening entertainment at Distinct is a single guitar player - nothing lively whatsoever, but that was to be expected. The evening entertainment at Emotions was hot, muggy and crowded (and stinky). We did enjoy a fire show one night but chose to stick to our resort for late night chatter and cocktails outside of that. Here are just a few things that were fine, but just made note of: - The last bar closes at 1am and the music is mellow (dont expect to hear your fav jam to get the party going) - The music at the pool is also mellow all day long ( fine but kind of boring and again, why the Emotions is a short golf cart ride away) - There are no blackout curtains in the living room should someone be snoozing on the pullout sofa - The air conditioner blows directly on the dining room chandelier and it jingles all night long - You will get eaten alive by mosquitos if you choose to eat dinner after dark down at the beach club restaurant. Overall, it was such a lovely experience! Incredible food, drinks and staff. The quality is seen in every aspect of this resort.

Marival Distinct is great.
The place was great. Service was awesome, Saul was our personal concierge and he was incredibly kind and helpful. The views are also one of a kind.
