Nice resort, could use some updates, but overall very good. What was excellent was JESUS, our personal concierge (we stayed in The Level section)! He was so attentive, friendly, got us everything we needed, made every reservation and checked on us through the day-even on his day off! He made the trip a 10/10!!

Second Times a Charm!
So went back! The kids really wanted to go back to this resort for spring break so we thought we would give it another try. This time we all upgraded to the Level Beachside rooms. The experience was much better! Our room was beautiful, defintiely better than last time. We also had a partial ocean view which was an added bonus. Our concerige Roberto was very attentive and helpful. He always answered and made sure our rooms were stocked with extra water and beer for our stay. He also snagged us two restaurant reservations for our week. The Level buffet, Riveria, is amazing! Plenty of food options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The a la carte for dinner was better than ANY restaurant we ate in. It was the same every night so we were able to try a different entree every night. The staff in there was super friendly and attentive as well. The Level bar drinks were always delicious and heavy on the alcohol. The Level pool was a favorite spot to hang out because it was never crowded, always chairs available any time of day. The food in the snack bar there is delicious as well. The Level beach side was never too crowded either which was nice. The only negative is the merchants on the beach, it was a never ending stream. One even put the iguana on a child without asking the parent and then charged the parent. Sneaky because they knew the child wouldn't say no. It makes it very hard to relax and enjoy the beach. The Splash waterpark was still a big hit with the kids. We spent hours there. The food at the snack bar there is top notch kid food, our picky eaters were able to eat the chicken nuggets and loved them! The service at the snack bar is also top notch, very friendly. The ice pops that were given out randomly were a huge hit with adults and kids! The biggest negative of the trip is something newer in recent years of traveling to DR. I have been traveling there since I was a child and never ever remember the pressure to tip everyone for everything being so pushed upon the travelers. The standard was to always tip out of respect and for contintued good service, even if it was all inclusive but now tipping feels pressured, that if you don't tip for every golf cart ride, every drink or literally everything, you felt the workers annoyance. Numerous people even asked for a tip before we even were able to take money out to tip them. This wasn't an issue everywhere but it happened with Amstar workers at the airport and some of the random workers around the resort. It just gave us an overall uncomfortable feeling. Besides those two negatives, it's a great, family friendly resort. Plenty of things to do for adults and children. It was a great week and we recommend this resort to other families! (Just make sure you upgrade!)

Olives bar at Meliá caribe beach resort
Daniella and Katherine at olives lobby bar are the best! Very attentive and super fun. Make sure you stop by and see them for your drink of choice. When no one else could make a drink we requested they were able to make it happen and make it we’ll!!!

Great experience with our concierge, Feliz. He was very responsive and helpful. We appreciate his hard work! Definitely will be back to melia caribe beach resort! The kids loved it. Everyone was very nice and helpful with anything we needed.

Massage and Spa treatment
