Fabulous stay!
The Moana Surfrider is by far my favorite hotel. My husband and I stayed in a one bedroom ocean front suite in the tower. It was stunning!!! We utilized the umbrella/lounger service most days, which was really nice. You can pick your spot the evening before. At the time we paid $80 a day. The hotel pool was small and always crowded. The courtyard with the Banyan tree was stunning. In fact the original hotel is just breathtaking. Check-in was great. Valet parking was a little steep but then you are in the middle of Waikiki and it’s comparable to most major cities.

unfortunately a dissapointing experience
since we agreed to have the family trip in Hawai'i this year only think i had in mind is be able to enjoy the mythical Moana Surfrider. initially, we book another hotel for our stay in Waikiki Beach but as soon as i find out that they have available rooms pushed for it like hell. OK, i know we were located in the Diamond wing and that it is only a standard room and not a suite. so when i saw the size of the room i took it still as good for all the ambiance, history and glamour your are smelling since you arrive. I cannot understand that Marriott accept this standard neither the customers. as mentioned the room was not huge (but i know it before booking and ready to accept) BUT the toilet!! come on it was a joke. many many people will struggle to use it. the size was the smallest i've ever seen only the shower was having a normal size but the washbasin was small as for a small guest and the toilet? i've never used such a small one. i've seen many people that would struggle to use it. later the facilities are nice and i can understand that the pool is also SMALL as the beach is just there and the location also great but compared to the hotels around in a similar price range, the one that has less space for guests and less chaise-lounges and so one. then they had rennovation works on two floors (well is low season and this things needs to be done but it was really noisy) so finally, need to excuse to my family for the experience :-) and might not be able to pick hotel in our next trip. Specially when we stayed in one of the hotels nearby the first time and same location but rooms 30 feet bigger. don't get me wrong location was great, the employees amazing and i am sure they would have good and excellent rooms but these ones don't met the standard that you would expect from a Westin nor from this location comparing the nearby ones. Just a pity but will require long renovations to get it sorted honestly.

What a disappointing and shocking visit
I've been coming to this hotel since 1997 and over the years I've seen the decline of this hotel. I and my wife have just spent a week here and all. I can say is very disappointing. On arrival, my room had dried food on the desk that was not -cleaned up. Over the week we noticed dissension between management and the staff. The noice in the hotel is shocking as they build on the hotel drilling not stopping for hours. On one of the days while trying to rest staff were protesting outside the hotel and it was very loud. Receptionists rude Ans the Genral manger Mr Forte can never be found , last year I was here there was a problem and he disappears every time we want to speak to him he should be ashamed of himself. So overall ove priced 3 star hotel , great building but its a dead horse.

Kat is awesome at Moana Surfrider!
Kat was an amazing Server at the Beach Bar! We ate and drank four days in a row. She provided the most excellent service by far. The other servers were good; she was just much better. Food was delicious; especially the Lilikoi Tart! Drinks were also delightful.

Unpleasant Staff
Great if you want to get some nice pictures (the hotel itself is beautiful), but definitely not a family friendly hotel, they should just make it adults only as it was clear kids are not welcome. Staff seemed miserable, and perhaps a toxic environment at management level. One of the balcony rails had fallen off at the time we stayed and so all balconies were locked too. This is the third hotel we've stayed at along the beach strip and easily our least favourite. Avoid, especially if you have kids!
