Great Location, Good Service, Good Amenities
We stayed in 2 bedroom, 2 bath oceanfront condo on floor 2. Our unit was overlooked the north (quiet) pool and then it was all beautiful ocean just outside the lanai. It was an amazing view but if I went back, I know I could find an ocean view (instead of ocean front) unit for less money and still have a lot of wow factor out the windows. The property is on the west/ocean side of Ali’i drive about 1.5 miles from Kona’s old town. There was plenty of secure, gated parking close to our unit, including a designated space we could use, and floor 2 required no elevator or stairs from parking level 2 (our friends who had a great unit on floor 3 had to go up and down stairs everyone they arrived or left because there was no on-level parking for them). One elevator was out of service for a scheduled refurbishment, but there were directions to other elevators and service accommodations posted. The bbq grills at the south (family) pool did not ignite until we called the front desk to send someone with a lighter. We had this issue 2 nights in a row but otherwise enjoyed cooking dinner on the grills while the kids swam in the pool. There are plenty of shaded tables to eat your dinner art the south pool clubhouse, but beware—the bugs come out (flies, mosquitoes) around 5 pm in summer. The complex was built in the 1980s but most units we saw were relatively updated. The couches and easy chairs in our unit were saggy and worn, definitely testing your core strength when you have to get out of them. The in unit washer and dryer, plus beach towels and chairs, got a lot of use! Happily, the front desk is very helpful and responsive. Our questions and quandaries—like the grills not lighting—were addressed quickly and with good cheer. I would stay here again for a trouble-free stay in a good Kona location.

Great experience
Staff: Friendly, but UNDER staffed. Communication improvements for guests No one told us there was a connecting store to buy some water— water is not offered in the rooms and this is unfortunate. Bed and pillows: Best bed ever cured my back issue I had for years excellent pillows Bathrooms: Excellent showers and toilets basic but clean and comfortable. Bathroom mirrors are excellent as well too. Staff Promptness: I was bit buy a fish in the ocean on my leg I called front desk and they brought first aid in under 2 min! Wow and thank you. Fitness room: there’s no fitness room sorry… Parking: easy you can park yourself or valet we chose valet of course. Breakfast: much better than most hotels for buffet and optional, you can buy your own. Coffee for purchase was absolutely the best we have ever had— add two shots of expresso! Beach: besides my fish bite the beach was the best beach we ever visited in Maui. Overall: if you are bringing your family it’s excellent for family! 5 nights was about $6,000 two rooms plus connected ocean front views and they were stunning.

Good not Great
We went to Maui to celebrate our 30th Wedding anniversary! We told the hotel before we arrived thinking they may leave us a nice note or something as other hotels have in the past. We arrived to a quiet empty lobby with only 1 other guest checking in and were not acknowledged for several minutes by a woman that came out from the back and seemed annoyed that she had to greet me. Got our room assignment and keys and went to find our room. The hotel has 3 buildings and a parking garage for $20 per day which was included in our package thankfully. They offer valet parking for $30 per day but were told we had garage parking unless we wanted to pay the $30 a night. I would have paid the difference per day which would have been $10 but $30 was not ok. Parking in the garage was very tight and hard to find . We were in the 3rd building which meant a pretty long walk with our luggage. The room was nice and clean when we walked in but the ac was not on and it was warm and sticky. Adjusted the ac which only went as low as 68 not as cool as we like. The bed was comfy and our view from the lani was mountains to the left and ocean to the right which was beautiful. The next morning we went down to walk on the beach and go for a swim. The beach access was easy but the fact that you need towel cards to get pool/beach towels was very inconvenient. The outside towel access wasn't open until 9am and if you wanted towels when they were not open you had to go to housekeeping and hope someone was there to give you towels. Most hotels I've stayed at have towels by the pool or at the front desk.It felt like they were afraid guests would steal towels so they kept the cheap towels under lock and key. The beach was beautiful of course and the pool was cute and clean. They offer a breakfast buffet for $30 per person, a little pricey but not too bad. We had breakfast there twice during our 7 day stay and each time they had fresh fruit, baked goods, real eggs not the typical powdered hotel eggs, and other yummy choices. The breakfast was good and the dining area was nice and clean. Be warned there are several birds that wander around the open dining area and may snag a snack if you leave your table. We just took turns getting food and waved them away. The staff was very friendly and tried to keep the birds away as well. It was actually kind of fun to watch the birds try to get food. The hotel offers activities but you have to schedule them days in advance and the woman that was supposed to help was rude and short with my husband when asked about them. The location was nice and easy to get to. The onsite restaurant is Maui Brewing Company, we had dinner there 1 night , our server was lovely and the food was ok. They gave us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary because the server asked if we were there for a special occasion, that was nice. Overall the stay was good but not great and most of the staff in the lobby were not showing the Aloha spirit we are used to in Hawaii. Not sure we will return.

Poor start, great ending!
Arrived at 4pm and room wasn't ready. 4:30 and still room wasn't ready so they put us in what we would call a garden view even though we paid for premium ocean view. Tracy called us in our new room and reassured us this was an ocean view room. It had a tree blocking 90% of the ocean. She offered to move us the next day when other rooms were available. As I was golfing the next day, the front desk called to make arrangements to move. When we got back we were greeted by Megan and Amber who apologized for the room issues and offered us an option of 2 different rooms. Both were fantastic but we went for the upgrade of the 2. They moved our stuff while we had lunch at Maui Brewing which they comped for us. They also put a welcome basket in our new room that had a bunch of goodies in it. Amber and Megan went above and beyond for us and made our stay there unbelievable. We both agreed that this was the best trip we've ever taken!

Enjoyed our stay.
Staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. The grounds a pretty and well maintained. Our room was clean and comfortable. There is a small fridge and kerig, but no microwave. Food is very expensive. Beach loungers and cabanas were $85 per day. Great location close by to restaurants and stores.
