Old Fashioned at Nube's Bar 👌🏻
We had an amazing stay with our family at the Paradisus Grand Cana. We weren't sure what to expect with an all-inclusive environment, especially when it came to alcohol, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The bartenders at Nube's Bar made the best drinks we had the entire visit to Punta Cana. Esaie, Alexander and Anthony make an amazing Old Fashioned - sugared glass, brulee'd sugar wafer, wood-smoked and overall delicious. You need to definitely check them out - between Sal and Tori, which both have excellent food if you can get a reservation!

Best way to celebrate my husbands 40th!
We came for my husbands 40th birthday and from the amazing service from Alejandra while Carlos made delicious cocktails to the massages we received from Margarita and Elizabeth, it was Just amazing. Hand down, my husband and I had one of the most relaxing experience of our lives Thank you to the entire staff, we really needed this.

Never Again
Paradisus Grand Cana is an expensive resort. Consistent with this, my expectations were high. The physical plant of the resort is superb - the architecture is outstanding, the grounds are immaculate and the housekeeping attentive. That is the packaging. The contents were disappointing. . Food was plentiful but at best uninspired and at worst inedible at both the Origin buffet and the al la carte restaurants . Wife had stomach issues for 24 hours after eating at the al la carte steakhouse. Unable to leave the suite during this time, we used the room phone to order room service white rice to settle her stomach along with something more substantial for me. After waiting 1.5 hrs for delivery we called room service to learn that they had no record of our order. We went hungry that evening. . House red and white wine are ok. If you want anything different be prepared to pay an exorbitant premium. (USD 100+ for a low end Australian Shiraz) . Unless you have concierge service, which we did, access to al la carte restaurants is difficult according to other guests who did not opt for this service. . You must have a smart phone with you at all times. Yes some of the al la carte restaurants still have QR code menus with no paper back up. After checking out on line, I made the mistake of turning my I phone off to preserve the battery for the long trip home. This led to a humiliating incident when we were barred by security from boarding our airport shuttle. Apparently the hotel’s trusted guests need to present an exit ticket to prove that they have paid their bill. We knew nothing of this requirement. The shuttle was delayed while we scrambled to get said ticket from a undermanned reception desk. We later found that the ticket was delivered by email to my turned off device. Never again.

Great Family Trip
Home for a couple days - honest review! I almost cancelled due to negative reviews and thankful we did not. We are a family of five (kids 14, 11, and 7) who have traveled to many all-inclusives. This was our third trip to the resort, and we truly enjoyed our vacation. The resort was at 100% capacity over Valentine’s Day/Presidents Day week while we were there, and overall it seemed to handle the volume well. PROS • Room was perfect — outer circle building 3 (some road noise but otherwise quiet and lots of sun all day). Plenty of space for our family of five. • We LOVE swim-outs. At this or a similar price point, we haven’t found another resort that offers a large swim-out suitable for a family of five. This is the main reason we return. • Drink service to our outer-circle swim-out was fantastic — nearly constant with great quality drinks. • No issues with reservations. We booked three nights through the kiosk on arrival night (Thurs) without issue, and our concierge secured our final dinner at the requested restaurant and time. • Room service via QR code was great. Always arrived within the quoted 45 minutes. My daughter loved the club sandwich, and the chicken nuggets were very similar to McDonald’s according to my kids. We did breakfast in the room several days — not as good as made-to-order at the buffet, but 10/10 for convenience. • Beach was beautiful — clean, great sand, long walks, and plenty of loungers. • Waterpark was a huge hit with our 7- and 11-year-olds. • FUN REPUBLIC is such a great addition — indoor playground, mini golf, show, and churros were highlights for us. Two-minute golf cart ride and all free. Highly recommend. Open Thurs–Sun evenings only. • The former winery space in the center of the property is being renovated into an ice cream/snack area, which will be an amazing addition once complete. CONS • Check-in was disorganized. We had a brand-new team member assisting us, were upgrading to concierge at check-in, and were initially misquoted on the price — required a lot of back and forth. • Swim-out pools could use a deep clean. The water level was below the skimmers and seemed like it should have been about 4” higher. Water itself was clean and clear. • Swim-out sunbed covers (Building 3 outer) were torn and need replacing; many shades were also torn or broken. We covered with towels so it didn’t impact enjoyment. • Thermostat adjustments were difficult. I was initially able to set it below 70 through the app, but after a power flicker it reset and could not be adjusted again despite multiple attempts. • Concierge service varies depending on who is assigned. We had Carolina last year and she was incredible — she even helped us this trip despite not being assigned to us. She is a tremendous asset. FOOD • Kicks: Burger was really good. Fried shrimp was okay but could have used a sauce. Avoid the mac & cheese (consistent throughout the resort). • Lemonfish: Classic and Amazon ceviches, Beef Maki, and Spiced Maki (beef and shrimp sushi) were all SO good. Service was very slow. • Agua Marina – Dinner: Salmon was good. Chicken was super thin and overcooked. • Agua Marina – Lunch: Shrimp cocktail was fabulous (also slow service). • Mangu – Lunch: Grilled shrimp with rice; added garlic butter — really good. • Tori Hibachi: SO good. Both the sushi appetizer and main were excellent. • Sal: NY steak, vegetables, and potatoes were excellent. Josper chicken was also delicious. Best meal of the trip. Happy to answer any questions!
