Feb 11, 2026Very poor communication and food quality not worth the money
This 4 night stay was an unpleasant experience. The resort has poor communication skills, whether the staff just doesn't speak English or amongst themselves letting us know what was happening. It's very difficult to get any reservations at the dinner restaurants, which are required. The first day we were told we weren't allowed to eat in a specialty restaurant. The 2nd day after standing in line we were told no availability. Our concierge tried to get us into a members only restaurant but they refused to seat us. We only got reservations for the 3rd and 4th night after we complained to the hotel manager(who agreed their entire reservation system was a problem). In addition we were forced to sit through a sales pitch for Melia's "Circle Membership". Added perks for future bookings at any other Melia resort. It was a JOKE (they wanted $2132 and $399/mo for 12 months). The grounds and room were beautiful and well maintained. But he overall service was so poor we will never go back. It was a HUGE disappointment and not worth the money. And the quality of the American food was poor also. I got sick my last day there from it. :(

Feb 11, 2026Amazing stay - Family Trip with family concierge
This is our second year in a row coming here. We have a family of four - kids ages 4 and 6. We booked a master family swim up suite with family concierge. Our concierge was Omar - he was fantastic. The swim up pool access made our stay. Water park - smaller slides with separate pools and water depth. I don’t think teenagers would find this exciting enough, but it’s perfect for elementary aged kids or younger. Family concierge has earlier access to the park, which is great. The special events held there (pirates birthday, water balloons) are really fun. Restaurants - food quality seems to be the most common complaint here. It was entirely what I would expect for a 5 star Caribbean resort. I found the à la carte restaurants really good (especially the steakhouse and Hibachi). The buffet has enough selection and custom stations (eggs, pasta, grill, etc) there will be something for everyone. Beach - short five minute walk (even with small kids!) or a trolley ride. The kids liked looking for lizards and geckos on the way. It’s a busy beach but nothing unexpected for the Caribbean. People selling things there were very polite and not aggressive in trying to make a sale. The amenities there - including drink runners, towel service, restaurant - were nice. We tend to spend more time at the pool but do not let the walk to the beach dissuade you from booking as it’s really a non issue. Rooms - zero complaints, even from my (at times) demanding husband. This is a really great place to stay and we will be back. Well worth the money.

Highly recommended
This is by far the best resort we ever went to. Rooms are huge, modern, clean and they provide you with everything you need for your stay. The beds and pillows are super comfortable and clean. The facilities are all well maintained and everything feels upscale! The staff is excellent. Our concierge ANDY was absolutely PERFECT. He would answer our messages within seconds, helping us with everything we needed. I really think he elevated our stay at this hotel! Pools were big, clean and there were plenty of ''cabanas'' for everybody. I wish they heated their pools a bit like some other hotels because the water was freezing. I also wish there was a bit more entertainment around the pools during the day. The kids water park with the slides was excellent for our littles ones. They had all the premium alcohol you can wish for and the restaurants were all great! Overall this hotel is clearly well managed and care for and I will definitely go back.

100/10 Dinner with Juan at Grill & Jobster
Juan at Grill & Jobster was incredible. Our reservation got screwed up but the hostess was so accommodating and helped get us in. We were greated immediately by Juan who was so friendly and cheerful and kept us laughing. We were with another couple but having Juan kept the great vibes going and ensured we all had a great time.
