We visited Paradisus the week leading up to Christmas and I'm torn between a 2 or 3 out of 5. Overall, the hotel grounds are beautiful and the nature setting is amazing. The nearby beach and walkable lagoon are picturesce and we loved the animals and jungle feel. The room was OK (when taking into consideration the age of the resort and the family concierge lounge was nice. However, service and food were completely sub par and at times, not edible. This is coming from people who vacation in IKOS type resorts in Europe and prefer good food on vacation, not just convinience. Detailed review below. Pros - Look and feel of the resort is great, you feel truly immersed in nature and its very peaceful - Beach was nice (dependent on day) and nearby lagoon great for kids - Room was good, cleaninig service great and the jacuzzi tub on balcony was great for a rainy day - Tons for younger kids to do, even if they are not swimming (going on a walk to see animals, looking for coconuts at the beach) Cons - The food was really bad with the exception of Cielo, Blue Agave, Celsius and Sal. The buffet was pretty much inedible as food is stale and lacks any taste. The food counters in the buffet are also low enough where bunch of kids put their hands in without parent supervision (witnessed a kid sneeze in a pan). I couldn't even eat the oats as the ladel is left in the pot and its too hot to actually touch. Guacamole is pre-made and frozen and probbaly same as you would buy at a US grocery store in terms of taste which is absurd for a Mexican resort. - The family concierge provided absoutely no value. Sure someone texts you on whatsapp and gives gifts to the kids but I feel like they do that regardless. The biggest scam was the Lunch Box (that comes with concierge) that had the worst food and slowest service. It says they open at 7 but they dont actually bring any food until 8. I asked for a french toast and the waiter told me to get it from the pre-made food trays that have been standing there for hours, Yum..The actual lunch at Lunch Box was the worst one and we stopped going there after the 2nd day as it takes 40 min for the food to comes and it tastest horrible. The concierge pool was the coldest, so again, your'e paing extra for nothing. - Cleanliness around the resort was very poor. Part of this is due to the clientelle and guests leaving trash but I've never been at a resort that doesnt have someone employed whos job is to only clean the space around the pool or beach. We would come to the beach in the morning and there were dirty towels, cups, and rubbish all over. Same for the pirate pool. Insane that they don't clean in the evening... - Lastly, organization seems to be quite poor. One day, we waited for 30 min for Lunch box to open for lunch at 1pm. At 1 pm they told us they wont open due to the heavy rain. What is the point of having a concierge on whatsapp if they dont even announce things like this? So then we headed to the buffet where we waited 40 more minutes to be seated as there were millions of hungry people infront of us.

Family fun and beautiful resort
Beautiful resort and such a fun time! The food and rooms were awesome. Our favorite part was volleyball on the beach with Edgar! All of the staff were so nice but Edgar went above and beyond. 10/10 would recommend this resort for your next vacation!

Great property, outstandung service and very friendly staff. Rooms are clean, well-furnished, comfortable. All Inclusive is running higher than desired, well inflation is everywhere. Loved the Nature part of the property and the beach.
