We love this resort! It’s the perfect balance between being big enough for variety, yet easy to get around. So beautiful and zen. We never had to wait for dinner, always got drinks easily, shows were great, we could get chairs / cabanas by the pool (no 7am race to grab chairs!), and the beach was beautiful. There was even a little foam party in the kids pool one day and our 5 year lost her mind when they played “Golden” amidst her whole family dancing in the foam together! They also had snorkling and Hobie sailing right off of their beach. Great service from PAOLA AND CARLOS! They helped us with our plans for each day and brought gifts for the kids. We were really glad we did the family concierge since it gave us access to the lunchbox restaurant, a cenote tour with yoga and zip line into the outdoor cenote, snacks in the lounge, and a very chill pool that our family enjoyed playing in. I also loved the evening entertainment. It was fun to come out of the restaurant and have a band playing and get to dance together! It was truly a wonderful vacation and this resort was just perfect! Great service, no sales pitches, easy and relaxing. The only thing I regret is not doing the family photo shoot. I didn’t think I could convince everybody to leave the pool early get showered and be at the beach in time for photos, but the setting was really gorgeous and the sunsets are beautiful and there’s no wind so it’s perfect for family photos on the beach. I wish we would have done that! I realized I didn’t have any pics of the resort without our family in them… so most of these pics are of the beach or the cenote trip, but I hope they are helpful. We came to share a 40th birthday celebration for my wife. Booking was easy, travel was good, and transportation to the resort was good. The resort was overall quite pretty and very appealing with one of the nicer rooms we have stayed in. Since it is an all inclusive I will go over the issues we experienced since we expected it to be top notch. We are frequent Sandals goers so thy is our main point of reference. The food was not good. The options were lacking and it just was not anything good. I feel we could have made better food at home. The drinks… apparently there are tiers. So although you pay for all inclusive if you don’t pay enough you get off brand alcohol which is pretty sad and shocked me. Lastly, I’m not sure if it was lack of English/spanish etc but many of the staff came off very rude. The way they interacted with us was just not good and made us feel uncomfortable and unhappy. Overall the price was low and the resort reflected. I will definitely not come back to the resort.

Food is not great and a few restaurants are just bad. Staff is very nice. Overpriced for the food quality, The rooms need a makeover big time. Grounds are nice. Main Pools are cold and should be heated.

The Paradisus resort by Melia is the best resort and experience.
This was our first time traveling to Playa del Carmen, we met friends and family at the Paradisus resort by Melia. This was by far the best experience we have had on vacation, hands down. The staff from beginning to end was out of this world, the kindest most helpful employees we have ever met. Javier and Paola went OUT of their way to make our stay perfect. The food was delicious (even the buffet). Our kids actually loved the Kids Club, they did crafts, fed turtles, saw live shows, and so much more. Mago and Daniel made ever drink perfect, the service is truly out of this world and everyone is so friendly. This will now become a yearly family and friend trip. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Buffet Hadar service is great always! Shout out to Ismael, Sandy and Anita. The hotel is great, love the gelato from the family side. The beaches here are awesome as well!
