Jul 30, 2025Inflexible policy
Due to a medical emergency we had to back out 2 weeks before arrival. We were part of a large group of 20 that are celebrating a big birthday. This resort would not refund any money even with graphic pictures and medical note. But on top of that they would not allow us to assign it to another family member. So basically they will get paid twice for 1 room. This company is not customer friendly.

What a beautiful country! This was our first time visiting and we will be back! We came with a large group for a celebration and we had a wonderful time overall. We stayed in star class building 26 on the 3rd floor and had an awesome view. It was centrally located which we really liked. The room was spacious for the two of us and had a cool layout. We had great service and ournroom was always clean and had fresh towels. The staff is exceptional. They were so friendly, accommodating and always cheerful. The bartender's at both the Star class pool and the lower swim up pool bar were amazing! A few we want to shout out to include Paola, Gustavo, Nestor, Karolina and Javier. They were the best bartenders, making any kind of drink you could ask for and always with a beautiful smile. Yeraly and Bryan up at the star class pool were also wonderful. Serving up amazing hospitality and more smiles. Yeraly showed me where some Howler monkeys were hanging in the trees nearby. We thought the food was delicious and loved that the buffet changed their menu each day. A large downside of this resort is unfortunately, their lack of availability to eat at all of the restaurants due to their reservation policy. We should be able to find somewhere to eat each night and not have to only eat the buffet. We were star class and could still only obtain reservations at two restaurants the whole time we were there. That seemed a bit ridiculous to us. Otherwise, overall it was a great experience.

Wonder place to stay”But”
This place was great the accommodations were perfect. The breakfast at So Cal Gourmet Emporium was oh so good. A big shout out to our hostess Tamara Cataleya and her crew. They took care of us (11) every day. That fresh brewed coffee at the table with that added kicker. Even though the accommodations, the staff and the breakfast was a 10 out of 10 on our six day stay it wasn’t all perfect. Let me tell you about Guys Burger Joint ( Guy Fieri of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. This place was a total letdown. You will not see this place on any of the places he reviews. It gets a C rating at best. I expect more when your name is attached to it. We also went to a place called Blue Star Tex-Mex Cantina. There was nothing Mexican about this food. The best Mexican food still comes from Mexico , Calif and your mom’s house. I have never left so much food on a table and just walked away. If I would have gotten a dog bag I would have given it to the dogs and said I am sorry. The food we had on our excursions were much better. There also was a karaoke place there that serve some pretty good buffalo wings. In all we have a great stay at P.H. I know the food can be way better we eat at P.H. in Vegas.

Great Experience and Better Service
We traveled to Plant Hollywood Costa Rica in July 2025, and we were pleasantly surprised by the food, amenities, and overall experience at the hotel. We traveled during their rainy season, aka their winter, and the weather was humid but tolerable. You can’t beat 80-degree weather and sun! What stood out most during our visit was the staff. Our concierge, Josue, and Cabana concierge, Justin, were super personable and attentive. They really made us feel like we were on vacation. Needless to say, we will be back. I should note, the resort is very “hilly”, but we didn’t mind. It was a great opportunity to get your steps in. We stayed in the byline behind the lobby, and we’re fairly close to the pool and beach.

IRENE @Star Class Pool is the best.Weather was hot but all was wonderful pools were amazing with great service. Burgers ate awesome!
