Love this Hotel
Location great, rooms lovely, staff very pleasant, rooms clean, entertainment very good, restaurant had every choice of food you could wish for, didn’t use the pools as we walk a lot but they looked very nice, can’t find any fault with this Hotel.

Perfect for our requirements
Friendly staff, welcome drink on check in. Comfortable rooms, excellent food choices. Rectangular pools suit us for proper length swimming. Being slightly back from the seafront, means the pool area is better sheltered from wind off the sea. Evening entertainment is of a generally high standard. One negative aspect, and not the fault of the hotel, was on one Saturday there was a fair of some kind held nearby, from which came the most awful, extremely loud, repetitive, mind numbing noise, which a very limited few might call music, but it certainly wasn't to the majority, if not all of the guests and staff. It went on from mid afternoon until midnight and spoiled that day. We were told that the local authority had arranged for the event to be staged. As this part of the Island is considered the quieter end for more mature visitors, it was utterly inappropriate, and if it is likely to become a regular feature, then unfortunately, we would consider not returning to this area. That would be a pity because we have stayed at this hotel twice now and aside from the above blip, which I repeat, was out of the control of the hotel, we've had a fabulous time. Perhaps the hotel chains can seek to resolve this issue with the authorities, because I can see this having a negative impact on bookings.

Relaxing week at the Arecas
We have just returned from a lovely week away at the Riu arecas. Room When we arrived check in was really smooth and we were in our room in no time. We were in room 2017 which had a nice view of the pool. The cleaners left the room spotless every day and we couldn’t ask for much more. The balcony was perfect for relaxing with a drink on the evening. Food Breakfasts had plenty of options but we loved the sweet pastries and churros more than the hot food which was fairly repetitive. Dinner time had different options each day with very little repetition. We really enjoyed the soups to start and never felt short of options for our main plate or dessert We booked the Spanish restaurant Olè for Thursday and the food was delicious! The starters were buffet style and mains ordered to the table and we were absolutely stuffed! Location The hotel is in a perfect location with access to the promenade at the bottom (a few steps down to front) which stretches all the way along to los cristianos. The hotel also has a bus stop right outside and we regularly took a bus (467) out to various stops (los cristianos, playa de las americas) it was super easy to use and only 3 euros for the 2 of us for a 15-20 min journey. We also used it for Siam park as way more reliable (and less crammed!) than the Siam park shuttle Pools/Beach club The pool areas were fairly busy but we always got a sun bed in the shade. The beach club opened around 9-10am and could get full by midday so we only went in a couple of days. The infinity pool in there was by far our favourite pool for its amazing views out on to the promenade. The pools were all relatively cold but were nowhere near as cold as other hotels we’ve been to. Evening Entertainment The entertainment was a bit hit and miss for us and we often went to our balcony instead but we did enjoy the Legends band with MJ/Prince songs. We booked to go on the coach to the Riu party at Riu Buenavista and really enjoyed ourselves (free drinks!) coach there was really easy to book and was waiting for our return at 11pm The staff all around the hotel couldn’t have been more friendly and always greeted you with a smile on their face. Ps if you have a later flight you can book a courtesy room to get showered and changed ready for pick up. By far the best courtesy room we have ever used!

Nice hotel with lovely staff
This is lovely hotel with friendly staff.Rooms were clean and bed was really comfortable.Entertainment was really good too.Food was lovely breakfast plentiful but no sausages only frankfurters which was odd.Always found something in the eat in evening.Only grip was plastic glasses in pool bar.A latte in a plastic glass with no handle.Really!A matter of time before a elderly person will burn themselves.Health and Safety would never allow that in UK.Been to many RUI hotels and never experienced this.Sunbeds need updating too dips in them
