Spring Break Policies -
1. Student / Spring Breaker Groups (21 years of age or older) will be accepted ONLY at Riu Cancun & Riu Caribe
2. All Student / Spring Breaker Group reservations are strictly On Request and will be reviewed on a case by case basis by the corresponding Destination Sales Department. RIU Hotels & Resorts reserves the right of admission and may reject any request at its sole discretion.
3. If a Student / Spring Breaker Group is accepted:
a. The number of rooms will be deducted from the contracted allotments
b. Minimum Age requirement: 21 years of age or older.
c. The Hotel may request proof of age in the form of passport or official ID
d. Each room must submit a signed liability agreement upon check-in.
4. At all other RIU properties Student Groups / Spring Breakers (either groups or individuals, regardless of age) are not allowed at any time during the year.
5. Guests disturbing or generating complaints from other guests or hotel may be removed from the property, at their own expense.

6. Student / Spring Breaker Groups must comply with any protocols (hotel and government) in place at the time of stay at the hotel.
Transfer Policy - A price may display when children stay free, if your vacation includes transfer to your hotel.

Oct 02, 2024Best hotel I’ve been in for holidays
We had an amazing time at RIU Cancun!! Mauricia was so lovely and she took good care of us. Everything about RIU was great. The food variety was great. Never got sick of eating any of the meals. The entertainment was amazing as well. We were kept well entertained! The weather was superb for the time we were there for. I would recommend this hotel And would definitely go back.

Holiday review
Staff were brilliant, very friendly and the facilities were great! The pool parties were a lot of fun. We can’t wait to come back.

Honeymoon
Honeymoon stay. A lovely surprise in room on arrival. Full in fridge on drinks daily in our room.Fantastic place. Friendly/helpful staff Great food. Definitely recommend staying.

Getaway
This hotel is in the perfect location to EVERYTHING! The staff were great. The food was amazing! as well as the entertainment. I will definitely stay at this hotel again!

Brilliant party hotel!!!
Beautiful hotel, brilliant service and so clean! The staff were absolutely the best part of our entire stay at this resort. They were fantastic and couldn’t do more for you. So incredibly hard working, always smiling and so friendly. Food was good. The Japanese restaurant was the best, the Italian was a little disappointing with having a buffet to start with not much Italian food to choose from, the main menu again, didn’t have much Italian food on there to choose from. The steakhouse was very disappointing. The steak was awful and full of fat, the mixed grill was the same. There is better beef in the Japanese and Italian restaurants. The breakfast buffet was brilliant, the lunch buffet was pretty much just the same salads etc. from the breakfast and the same everyday and HUGE quantities at once. Couldn’t help but think how long have they reused this food instead of bringing anything out fresh each day? The cocktails ever were AMAZING!! And an iced coffee every morning from the sports bar was perfect. The ONLY negative point I’d have to mention from this hotel was the huge amount of American/canadian people there were. Due to it being more of a party hotel, there was large numbers of stags/hen dos and large parties at once. They were obnoxiously loud, rude and very disruptive. The way they spoke to the staff was absolutely obscene and really difficult to watch. They were getting obliterated drunk in the swim up pool, to the point everyone was getting out and leaving. Some were throwing water over the security guards and lighting up cigarettes in the pool although the security guards were telling them to stop. Some were being dragged out of the pool by other holiday makers as they were so drunk they couldn’t walk. They would be stripping off their close and jumping in the pool also whilst all of their friends heckled and chanted in the pool. The start of our holiday we were using the swim up pool bar everyday and a couple of days in, when we noticed more and more American/canadian groups arriving, they almost completely took over this pool so no one else could use it or be comfortable in it. We witnessed on a number of occasions the absolute rudest of people in some of the restaurants. They would shout across the room to the staff to refill their water, no please or thank yous or just any manners in general. Three times during the holiday we were with our friends playing pool in the sports bar and had to actually leave because huge groups of Americans came in and were so disruptive and loud. They just did not seem to care about anyone else around them whatsoever. We just felt really sorry for the staff! The day entertainment was fantastic. We always got involved with the water sports and activities and the evening activities was good but could have been better. Sometimes it would only last 45 minutes which was a shame. The tribute acts were brilliant and we loved karaoke but again, it could have been much better. It was a really brilliant stay but this is definitely a hotel for more of anyone who would like a party. Would not recommend for families or anyone with children.
