Will we be back?
My fourth time staying here and now questioning if it will be my last! Reception- staff don’t want to be there, not welcoming, don’t welcome you back. It’s a conveyor belt system and they don’t care about you! Rooms- Clean and nice as always house keeping come daily and always tidied and cleaned the room. No issues there. Breakfast-unless you are there at 7am don’t expect great choices they will stop serving hash browns at 8am claiming they don’t have any but they do just don’t put them out! Thought this restaurant was all inclusive certainly didn’t seem like that and getting lied to by members of staff! Many mornings I didn’t bother with breakfast in the end and ordered food in as food very repetitive! Lunch- was okay inside but again no great choices and very repetitive! Dinner- tried to eat out of resort many times and food standards have certainly gone down hill in the last year repetitive and not much choice! Luckily we are fortunate enough to have friends that live in Cancun so we always go out for dinner as all restaurants have gone down hill in hotel! Would never go back to the steak restaurant again! Pool- where are the bartenders who bring the drinks cart around why has that stopped really disappointing! Also a massive disappointment is that is Israel is no longer at the pool bar he always brought the vibes and it was sad not to see him there! However, all the other bartenders at the pool bar are brilliant! Entertainment team- lacklustre, no energy, don’t want to be there vibes! They don’t seem to get any of the guests involved. Compared to the entertainment staff last year the men and women this year weren’t as good! I love Cancun and love all the things we do out here. However, this year I was severely let down but RIU caribe and the standards. I really hope it was just a bad two weeks! Staff need to want to be there and 70% seem like they don’t! Bartenders and waiting staff aside which was brilliant and it is nice to see all the people still there from my first visit 9 years ago!

Riu Caribe
Our stay was beyond great! Enrique, and Max at the bar are super friendly. Our cleaning lady left us cute surprises on our room. When doing our check-in they took us some refreshing drinks!

Graduation Trip
My partner and I took both of our high school graduates to Cancun to celebrate. A time was had!!! I don’t even know where to start. The staff was friendly and helpful. The property and rooms were clean, the bed was great, the location was perfect. The parties were so much fun. I specifically picked Caribe because the RIU parties were held on site. It was nice not to have to shuttle. I loved being able to book excursions on site as well. Everything was made super easy and accessible. I have zero complaints there. My one and only complaint was the food. I was disappointed. I understand they have to cater to a wide variety of palates but I just didn’t care for it. I went to the Mexican restaurant to compare it to the buffet and sadly even that lacked the sazón (seasoning). However, overall, I would most definitely return.

Such an amazing trip!
My sis and I stayed here for my 21st and are not huge on drinking so we were worried about the vibes with the all inclusive. By luck we met a group of people our age the first night and spent the whole trip with them and got to explore and experience the party side of Riu. It already felt safe as is but it truly was worry free and such good accommodation too! We got close to the bartenders like Ivan and Flor, the sweetest people ever work there! We are all planning to go back next year specifically to Caribe again because you literally can’t beat the experience we had anywhere else. Also, we got the frontal ocean view room, we had the whole sea, the pool, restaurant views AND a huge, and i mean huge, balcony! Yoga at 5:30am was so calming. I also wanted to mention cleanliness, all inclusives can get rowdy (as it DOES) and messy but gosh they kept it all so spotless, they treat the pools every night and i watched them scrub them every morning too. Anyways 10/10 going back asap and will continue to go through Riu at other locations too.
