Jul 03, 2025Fun can be had, yet disappointing in many ways
The Resort has good and bad points that I will address. First of all, we got an ocean front room on the second floor overlooking the pools and Ocean. The view was wonderful. The wife's salmon in the steakhouse was amazing, but my steak was a little overcooked. I asked for medium and got a well done steak, but I just ate it anyway. The buffet was very average and the other specialty restaurants were barely tolerable. We had fun at the pools hanging out with the other guests. The shows at night were a bit boring. Now for the bad. Our room was on the second floor 2039, yet there was only one elevator near the lobby of the hotel and our room was on the opposite end of the resort facing the beach. A lot of guest complained that they had to take the stairs to get to their room because of the lack of an elevator on that end of the resort. We were also very disappointed that they don't have any type of room service at all for food. You have to walk across the resort to the 24 hr sports bar for a sandwich or pastry to microwave. The alcohol at the bars are brands that you have never heard of or average brands like Bacardi Rum or brands that will give you a headache or bad hangover. If they have a bottle of Patron, it is all they have for the day, so when it runs out, it is too bad. I noticed that quite a few people were smart enough to purchase their favorite brands at the shops in the Airport to bring to the resort. Something that I don't understand about Riu Adult resort is that you have to pay substantially more for them, yet they have all the parties, such as white party, pool party, neon party, etc at the other family resorts, so you have to sign up and be bused over to them. Why can't they have a foam pool party, or white dress party at the adult resort so we don't have to walk or bus over to the other resorts. At Riu Latino, you have to be bused over to the parties. We had fun, but I don't think we will be going back to a Riu because of this. If you do, just save money and stay at the family resort since you have to go there for the best shows, parties and entertainment.

My wife and i stayed for 9 days and absolutely loved the resort. The staff was really great! No complaints at all with the staff, only issues were our location for our room must have been directly above the night club, so it was quiet loud everynight except Sunday when the club was closed. We also found that the availability of food/meals could have been better. Some days had a couple hours in the middle of the afternoon with no real options to eat. There was technically food from the sports bar, but i would consider that edible but not food. Other than that, amazing and absolutely loved it! I would definitely recommend.

The staff, hotel, and food were all great—I have no complaints! In addition, I accidentally left an item behind at checkout. I called the hotel, and Ulises at the reception desk was incredibly helpful. He assisted me in locating the item and arranging for it to be sent back to me. I really appreciate his professionalism and prompt support. Thank you!

Quick trip to the RIU
We booked trip last minute 6 days before leaving for a little getaway. We have not stayed at this property before but reviews looked good. The service was great at pool bar Cesar meet all our needs with a smile all 3 days. The service in restaurants was also very good. The food was solid a little bland for my taste and variety was good. The wait time for all the dinning choices was less then 10 minutes. The only negative is the drive from airport to resort was 1 hour with out stopping or traffic.
