May 01, 2025Don’t stay here if you want a great vacation
The front desk and cleaning staff were rude our entire trip. The front desk hung up the phone multiple times when I called to ask a question. Also bring your own wash cloths because the resort does not provide any. No one and I mean no one spoke English with the exception of the people selling excursions. I’m well traveled and this was my worst experience at a resort. I’ve also stayed at other Riu locations and this is by far the worst one.

Não recomendo
Hotel sujo! Quartos cheiram mal! Empregados parece que trabalham por favor. Fizemos uma reclamação e ainda se começaram a rir com ar de gozo para nós! A comida não é nada de especial. Em qualquer restaurante que vamos dizem sempre que tem não sei quantas pessoas à frente.. vim com amigos todos na casa dos 30 anos. Não recomendamos, acho que apenas se enquadra para jovens de 18/19 anos visto ser adults only..

Para 5 estrelas deixa a desejar
Todos os empregados, sem excepção, trabalham por favor! O serviço de limpeza é uma miséria, os quartos cheiram mal! Não há cuidado nenhum com os clientes, apenas preocupados em embebedar a malta que parece que está de viagem de finalistas! Se querem umas férias, isto não é opção!

Great place if you like starving and sweating!!
I am not one to write a review, but this resort is so bad I find it necessary to say something. I just got back from a trip with friends and family. We stayed for 5 nights. The purpose of our trip was a friend’s 30th birthday. I did not choose this resort and was concerned with reviews I read leading up to the trip. Luckily, the reviews regarding the horrendous food prepared me in one regard. I ended up packing a large amount of snacks (which I have never done before for an all inclusive trip) and this was my main source of food for the 5 nights. The food was so inedible (outside of the jerk chicken on the beach) that I ended up living off of the pistachios and beef jerky I packed. We did not have air conditioning the first two nights and our room was a stuffy 27 degrees Celsius (80.6 degrees Fahrenheit) which made it impossible to sleep. We went to the front desk and were told they would send someone, but nobody came. Finally, 2.5 days in, my Mom got the concierge to get us into a new room. To our surprise, the AC also did not work in this room. We again had to ask several times for someone to come fix our air. After complaining multiple times, our air was finally fixed and we had air for the second half of our trip. Also, our toilet only flushed half of the contents and the 50+ pound closet door fell on top of my mother within 30 minutes of being in our new and improved room. The bare minimum you would expect on a vacation was not met at this resort. Everything is run down and a total disaster. Our elevators did not work for the last 3 days and we had to hike up 4 flights of stairs each time to get back to our room. The front desk pretends to care but they do not fix anything. This is the first trip I have ever been on in which I genuinely could not wait to get back home. Absolutely nightmare experience.

Nuestra estadia el riu republica de 9 dias fue realmente excelente. Es la primera vez que voy a un all inclusive y no tengo nada malo que decir. La comida excelente, las bebidas excelentes, la atencion en algunos casos algo desganada pero es entendible en ciertos puntos. Es un hotel al que va mucha gente joven y con muchas ganas de fiesta. El lugar es muy alegre y a nosotros nos toco una habitacion en un sector muy tranquilo, completamente contrario a lo que es la zona de las piletas, del boliche y del teatro. Los espectaculos son muy buenos, todas las noches, las bebidas 10 puntos, somos de tomar mucho y nunca nos dio resaca lo cual es muy importante. Creo que es mas un hotel para ir en grupo de amigos y hacer lo que quieras, porque vale todo. Yo fui con mi pareja y nos encanto, nos gusta la fiesta, volvimos a sentirnos jovenes, con si estuvieramos en un viaje de egresados. Gracias Riu, pasamos unas vacaciones inolvidables.
