May 11, 2025Relaxation and fun all rolled into one ❤️
We had a wonderful 8 day visit at the end of April. The resort is smaller than so many of them on the coast, but it was super nice, and the staff were excellent in every department. Our concierge Sandra was so sweet and so helpful for anything that we needed, always smiling and happy to help. no matter how busy the bar tenders were they always got your order quickly and always with a smile, making delicious drinks. Exal took care of us poolside with fresh towels, helping with umbrella & loungers and always happy to loan us pool float floaties as we forgot ours. The restaurants were delicious and there was enough nightlife to keep us entertained comfortably. All the guests were very nice, we made some great friends, some of the guests had been coming numerous times one had even been 20 times so I think that says a lot about how enjoyable the resort is. It definitely fit our needs for relaxation with some socialization. The Activities team were great, Alexa and Carlos were super fun and always had something fun to offer us. We had a wonderful vacation.

We will NOT being going here again. MAJOR ISSUES: Just left the Royal Hideaway with a finishing blow of distaste. Our concierge did not confirm a shuttle for us to be picked up from the resort to the airport for our flight home. After waiting close to an hour after our concierge told us we’d be picked up, we were told that there was no reservation for us to be picked up. We were then told that our only option to make it to the airport was from an outside taxi service that only took debit or cash. Because one of the staff members stole all of our cash on the first day, we were scrambling to figure out how we could pay for our 1 hour drive to the airport. HUGE SCARE!!! Like I said, we got stolen from, well over 100 USD cash the very first full day we were there. We spent the day at the pool while having the room service come and clean our room. When we came back to the room to grab money for tips, we found that the majority of our cash was stolen. The staff member needed to weed through our bags just to find it… USE THE SAFE!!! the staff all seemed so incredibly nice that we thought that we didn’t need to worry about something like that happening. We never got our money back either. We were there for our honeymoon, which the staff knew. However the only acknowledgment of it was a little dessert at the restaurant Spices. DO NOT choose this resort if you’re celebrating a special occasion. Disclaimer moving forward: I think you get what you pay for here. A low/medium price for a low/medium quality experience. An introduction to your experience at Royal Hideaway will include a peaceful walk to your room, excellent views of the beautiful ocean and a spacious room. The men at the front entrance were really nice and tried to help us make it back home. However a lot of it was out of their control. Unfortunately, those are most if not all the positives my wife and I experienced. Food: Breakfast buffet was okay, the rest of the food was not good. Oily, flavorless, and convoluted menus left me feeling overwhelmed and dissatisfied with 9/10 choices. Food poisoning on our 2nd day here. I ordered the Pork Belly tacos to try out and I don’t think the pork was cooked enough. I spent the following day in the room throwing up. Amenities: we spent most of the first day by the pool, we were early so we got a good spot by the pool but apparently all other seats that are nice are reserved for the members, presidential suite members, or folks who have been over 20 times. Outdated shower, jacuzzi, and restaurants. If you like drinking I’d say go nuts here, the drinks were good. Other than that, I’d stay away.

Fantastic experience!
We had an amazing stay at Royal Hideaway with family! The food was outstanding, the staff were friendly and very accommodating! I’d especially like to thank Oscar Gomez, Daylin Libama, Yuliana Perez, Kathy’s Galicia and Roberto and Julian!

Beautiful resort with fantastic service
Exal Ramirez was fantastic as our pool concierge. He was attentive and made sure our seats were set up and well taken care of. He has a genuine and warm personality. Our villa concierge Fernanda was kind, attentive and made sure we were well cared for and our room was the way we wanted it. I had two of the best massages I may have ever had by Araceli at the spa and will be asking for her next time!!!

Bathtub jets never worked and was gross
complained both nights and was assured it it would be addressed but never was. Also tried to book restaurant reservations prior to arrival and never received a response and when arrived was told most restaurants were booked. Location is good but would not go back.
