  Nice resort and very rude stuff

  beautiful resorts with many amenities but the most rude stuff ever, they need good training about costumer's service. I think it is management attitude..lol

  Thank you, Edwin Berroa for making our trip wonderful!

  We had a wonderful experience with our butler, Edwin Berroa. He made sure that everything during our stay at the hotel went well and that all our wishes were fulfilled. He kept in touch with us every day and always check that everything was OK. He let us know when there were events that our family would enjoy. He also helped us get reservations at restaurants. We were very grateful to him. We also love the coffee bar at the Punta Cana side of the hotel. The ladies who worked there were incredibly nice and helpful. They always greeted us with a smile and recognized us. There was a high point of our day. There were some issues in the buffet. Often food was empty and not replaced. Sometimes people were not at their stations, preparing the food. That then resulted in food, not being fully cooked, for instance, tuna, shish kebabs, which could cause stomach problems. The croissants were often Empty, and when they were brought out, they were directly out of the bag and had a bad aftertaste. If they had been heated up, they would’ve been crispy and tasty. So I would say there were some shortcuts that were taken and attention needs to be paid to. Once the omelette guy had out blue cheese instead of normal cheese that you put in an omelette and it looked like mold. When we told him that he just mixed it up more. Then I got a manager who came over and took the cheese out and put in the correct cheese. Anyhow, there were small things like that or a problem. Another issue in the dining room is that they don’t seem able to put large groups together. There were 10 to 12 of us at any time with children and we ended up distributed at different tables. This was not OK because we had flown from different parts of the country so that we could be together and meal times it’s often the time when people are together. By the way, this was all at the Punta Cana buffet not the Royalton splash.

  Royalton Splash review

  Overall trip was good. Food and hospitality need improvement. We found many of the staff members rude and impersonal. We added the Diamond Club and were assigned a butler, Elvin, who made it his mission to improve our experience, we appreciate his kindness and efforts.

  Despite some friendly staff, we had too many negative issues during our stay!

  I've waited about a week to write this review so that I can do it calmly. Also, I'd like to start out with the positives. The pools and pool areas were generally well kept and debris free. We also met some very polite staff. Alba in the casino was very nice and Adrian at Grazie was very good. At the Premium Buffet, Juana took great care of our tables and Katherine at the pasta station was awesome. Roberto was also very helpful with dinner reservations each night. The only good things about the room were solid water pressure in the shower and a toilet that flushed like a champ. Now, I'm going to limit the negatives to my top ones, since I do not have time to go over everything. 1. The shower was TERRIBLE. Shower door was poorly designed and barely prevented any water from splashing out. Our shower floor was constantly wet and the towels we'd put down stayed soaked. It also drained terribly slow. 2. Beds need to be upgraded. These are the kinds of mattresses I slept on as a child, 40 years ago. They're old, creaky box spring mattresses and they need to be replaced. I had some near sleepless nights because I could never get comfortable, as did my wife. 3. Most of the alcohol we drank was definitely watered down. I drink Disaronno and I had several mixed drinks that I watch them mix with liquor from a Disaronno bottle and it definitely wasn't. I even took a shot from that same bottle and it tasted like chocolate. We experienced the diluted drinks at almost every restaurant we went to. I will add that the casino drinks did not taste diluted and were very good. 4. The reservation system is a scam. I'm not sure they even have "free" reservations. The reservations were supposed to open at 5:00 daily, and we had five different rooms submit reservations requests exactly at 5:00 just to all get denied with a message stating reservations were full. We spoke to numerous families throughout our stay and not one of them had ever made a successful "free" reservation. Then, they have resort people going around selling special packages that earns you a reservation. Our first night, we bought 2 bottles of wine at $55 each and they sat all 5 rooms, which was 18 people. (Again this is at a restaurant that was completely booked at 5:00). We ended up buying the package each night just to get a seat. I think it's pretty shady to promote the "all-inclusive", when they make it so difficult to access the "all-inclusive" dining. 5. We had an insane amount of bugs in our room. We had hundreds of ants on two different nights and had to spray Raid. We also dealt with a lot of moths and flying bugs too. To top it off, the moths had eaten dozens of holes in the "blackout" curtains, which let tiny rays of light in. 6. We had jewelry stolen out of our daughter's luggage. To be fair, it also might've happened with the airline, as she didn't check until after our first night. It was mostly costume jewelry, so not a huge deal, but definitely an invasion of privacy. 7. Casino temperature was incredibly hot on two of the nights. We actually just left after mentioning it several times. 8. "All-inclusive" buffet was terrible. Lines were extremely slow for the grilled food. Overall, the selection was disappointing and the food was bland. We will definitely never stay here again, and it will be a long time before we return to the Dominican Republic at all.
