Marriott Stellaris unthankful for Business on thanksgiving day
I traveled from Atlanta to San Juan to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family, who are staying at the Marriott Stellaris. I’m retired military and currently lodged at Fort Buchanan, and our family of 15 had planned to dine together at the resort’s Thanksgiving dinner—at $89 per person—so I stopped by the property ahead of time to connect with them and get familiar with the layout. Unfortunately, my experience at the entrance was far from welcoming. Despite explaining that I was meeting my family—verified guests of the resort—the security staff refused to allow me onto the premises solely because I was not wearing a guest wristband. I fully understand the need for security and crowd control, especially during a busy holiday week, but the lack of flexibility and courtesy was disappointing. There was no willingness to check the guest list, contact my family, or consider my circumstances as a visiting family member staying at a military installation. Given that my family is planning to spend well over a thousand dollars at the resort’s restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner alone, I expected a more hospitable and solution-oriented approach. Instead, I was left standing outside the property, unable to even meet up with my family or get basic information. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Security policies are important, but so is guest experience—and treating visiting family members with a bit of understanding would go a long way. Our family is looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner, but this encounter certainly dampened the excitement. ⸻

Fabulous place to stay!
Love this hotel! The staff, location, pool, pool bar, and, of course, the ocean. Incredible! We enjoyed our stay so much. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful!

Nice hotel, safe neighborhood, nice beach
We stayed here three nights Nov 19-22. The ocean view double room was on the fourth floor. It’s really a pool view room but if you lean on the balcony a little you can see the ocean. I would choose this room again but the only drawback is the room is set up to be an adjoining room and our last night there the neighbors were very noisy and I had to wear ear plugs to sleep. Maid service was excellent. We really liked Cafe Mercado and ate breakfast there every day. Had gelato at their storefront but was disappointed that it was really just ice cream and not a creamy gelato. Ate dinner at the restaurant downstairs. The short ribs and the swordfish were a nice presentation and tasted wonderfully delicious. Drinks at the pool bar tasted watered down so we changed to getting drinks at the restaurant bar which were excellent. We did do a golf cart tour of Old San Juan which I highly recommend. I recommend this hotel but the beach is not swimmable due to the rip current. If you’re a pool person this is the perfect hotel. They had plenty of lounge chairs and the pools are nice. Marriott is debit, credit card or room chargers only. They don’t accept cash except as tips.

Beautiful clean resort with excellent customer service
Beautiful resort, clean, wonderful customer service! Especially on the beach! We enjoyed everything. It’s really pricy but we just went off resort to the Walgreens for beer and walked to the restaurants down the road for food. The beach is beautiful, we were able to swim about waist deep due to the conditions it wasn’t safe to swim out further. The servers on the beach were friendly and efficient.

Short but sweet
I appreciate the amazing service the staff at Stellaris provided during our stay. We celebrated my sister's 40th birthday and they made our time very memorable. Extra thanks for the upgraded rooms (and treats) and to the front desk staff Keisha the young man (I'm sorry I can't remember your name) , and Willmarie our server at breakfast . We will be back soon for a longer stay . 😁 Thank you 😊
