My husband and I have been to about 13 of the Secrets/Dreams resorts. We just returned from our second trip to Secrets Bahia Mita. The first trip in 2023 was very good but it was before the resort was upgraded. This trip in May 2025 was one of our absolute favorites. We always book Preferred and had a butler named Inez. Inez went above and beyond to make our trip the best ever. Also our UVC rep, Vanessa, was really great also. We particularly enjoyed the new zip lines recently added. Antonio and Javi made the zip line experience extra special. We also totally enjoyed two dinners at the Bordeaux with Ivan as the waiter and two dinners at Portofino with Juan as the head waiter and Jorge as the excellent Chef. Ask Ivan to make Spanish Coffee for your dessert. We did tip well but it was worth it as the service and shows we received from these two restaurants were amazing.

May 12, 2025Looking for quiet getaway? Might want to look elsewhere...
This is our sixth trip to Mexico and our first trip to PV as we have visited Cancun and Cabo previously. Our occasion was celebrating our anniversary and we did a tons of research. Part of our decision making was some of the reviews we read on TripAdvisor. We struggled from the beginning after our reservations were made. It took forever to confirm our hotel transfers as each party was telling us to contact the other (AMSTAR vs. Secrtets). It was finalized three days before our arrival. Then upon our arrival, we had booked the club level junior suite but was only allowed access to the pool area and not the other areas as advertised on the website. Even after voicing our complaints at checkin, they only allowed us access to the SkyBar pool throughout the week, which was the primary goal of our trip was just relaxing pool side. One gentlemen said he would get back to us after checkin but we never heard back. We specifically chose Adults only and the size of the hotel is misrepresenting on the site. Yes, it is only 270+ suites but the other Dreams hotel makes it a lot larger and there is not much separation between pools in the main area. We thought there would be a little bit more exclusive areas for us to lounge. There are but you will have to pay extra for cabanas and private areas. All pool areas are extremely cramped with spacing between chairs and extremely limited. We arrived on a Friday and found ourselves in event "hell". There was at least five weddings/receptions going on and continued on throughout Saturday. We thought it would clear out but then the business meetings arrived on Monday and we had two large groups. This is clearly a groups hotel. It almost felt like we were on a cruise with the large of amount of people everywhere we turned. Even the preferred area Sky Bar Lounge and upper deck pool turned into a group party as a wedding party took it over on the Tuesday/Wednesday we were there. They were loud/obnoxious and kept telling everyone they were VIP's. The food was good. Given the large groups, we had the restaurants mostly to ourselves. Easy to get in and out but the service was just average. The rooms were great and comfortable. We understood that Secrets was a nice getaway for couples but this specific hotel is built to cater to large groups. We loved the area and plan on returning to PV but will look to other locations for a more quiet and exclusive getaway. This was just not what we were expecting based upon the website and reviews.

Amazing!
Everything was perfect! Thank you Sheyla and Vanessa! I loved the food, pools and beach. Everything was amazing! I highly recommend coming to this hotel, they really take care of you. You can come with friends or with family, have both: party or down down.

Oh Hum!! Not memorable
The pictures of the resort looks amazing, however, the experience was very different. There was nothing to do except eat and drink. The spa was horrible because the masseuse did nothing but rubbed my skin. However, on a positive note, the service was phenomenal. The staff worked very hard to make sure we were happy and accommodated us. We would never go back to that resort again, it felt like it was 30 years old, even though it was only three years old, the construction was done very poorly and our room hada lot of of issues

The cafe is by far one of the greatest things at the resort. Highly recommend it. The restaurants are too far apart. The beach is not for swimming and was a disappointment. The resort is not anywhere near anything so venturing to nearby locations is about a 20 minute drive.
