Jun 30, 2025A memorable stay, Jose provided exceptional service.
My wife and I visited the beautiful city of Puerto Vallarta. Our butler, Jose Bacerra was nothing short of amazing. Jose went above and beyond he was responsive, attentive and genuinely kind. Not only Jose but the entire staff of Secrets Vallarta were amazing. Whether eating at their 5-star worthy restaurants or their exceptional cleaning service crew everything was above and beyond. Thank you so much my Secrets Vallarta family. We will definitely be back soon

Fantastic stay at Secrets at Puerto Vallarta
My wife and I recently spent a week at the all-inclusive Secrets in Puerto Vallarta. We had upgraded to the Preferred wing, which was well worth the money. We've traveled extensively, but our stay was one that we'll remember for years to come. The staff were amazing. Our butler, Jose, was especially attentive, as was Nirvana at the VIP desk. The restaurants were exceptional, with Bordeaux and Capers being outstanding. We had breakfast in the Market Cafe every morning, and it was a fantastic way to start the day, from the food preparers to the outstanding service. Secrets receives our highest recommendation.

Overall it’s a good resort , needs renovation but it was the best food of any resort we went to . It’s not a 5 star probably 3 star. Entertainment was awful, drinks are top notch. Nice thing about it every thing is close, didn’t have to walk very far no shuttle.

Adrian - the server in the breakfast buffet area was absolutely amazing! He went above and beyond each time we saw him and really made us feel like family! He is always so happy when we see him and we always ask for him as a server!

Jun 25, 2025Management Could Learn From the Entertainment Team
The management of this establishment could not offer compensation for each of 3 of the members in our traveling party that were so greatly inconvenienced in one room (We had two rooms with 3 ladies in each). This group of 6 ladies has been lifelong friends, and we’re at a stage in our lives where most of our children our grown, and we’d like to travel often. Instead, we endured two water leaks, one of which was massive, requiring a middle-of-the-night move of rooms (resulting in wet clothing, toiletries, and a wet laptop computer). We get moved to a room next door that smells badly (musty) and has a leaky shower where we can’t use the rain head and have to point the handheld shower head away from door to prevent it from leaking all over the entirety of the bathroom. Furthermore, in what was described as a “courtesy” gesture, 3 apples are left in our room, yet the door is left wide open, leaving the room insecure and uncooled. This created a scary environment for women traveling alone, to come home at night to find our door open. Finally, we end our last few days getting to endure construction next door as the maintenance crew works to fix our original damaged room, impacting our “peaceful getaway”. The hotel wants to believe that the water leak wasn't their fault and blame it on nature. However, there are water leaks everywhere across the resort. You can see maintenance at work all over. They know it's an aging facility, and as such, they should be prepared to make it right when the age of the resort causes failures like this. It would've meant a lot if anyone from management had even reached out to check on us. No one did. We tracked down management ourselves, and the "best Hyatt can do" is "compensate the room, not the guests". Therefore, the ONE person that booked the room was offered Hyatt points for their "next stay". However, it's not enough points to book a room for even one night. Plus, 2/3 of the occupants received NOTHING. This would’ve been a great opportunity to offer each person some vouchers for additional perks for THIS trip, something from the spa or for an excursion, or a dinner reservation, or some sort of gesture to improve THIS trip. Nope. While I can’t say enough positive things about several employees we encountered (Armando, Day, and Sophia from the Entertainment Team that work poolside + Joel and Raul from the Concierge Team that work poolside, and Cesar at Market Cafe for breakfast), it is unfortunate that all 6 of us ladies traveling together have collectively agreed that there have been enough compounded negative experiences that we would not return, nor would we recommend to all of our friends back home in the states to visit this establishment. We have made the best of this trip, because we are lifelong friends that can laugh at the ridiculousness of it all. This experience has NOT motivated us to trust Hyatt establishments for all of our future travels.
